09/26/2024 WARNING again in SPRING HILL, FLORIDA on my visit…read moreto area! Early morning of Hurricane Helene I went online to get a local auto parts store phone number, I found one on Northcliff Blvd. off Mariner Blvd. just minutes from me. (I noticed a warning that was posted by (J.J.) on 12/12/2022 from same store stating someone there asked him for Vin # or tag #). I called to see if they were opening today so I went in to get parts as the where open. As usual I was asked if they had my phone number on file when I went to pay. When he pulled it up, he noticed I was military. Then he (I didn't notice his name stupid me) asked if I had ID, I showed him "quickly" my state drivers lic. which has Veteran logo. Crazy enough here's where it got interesting to say the least, he asked me for my last "3" digits of my SS number. I said I just proved to you my Veteran status, he said he needed in order to give discount company policy. After my challenge I gave him 3 "fake" digits recognizing something smells fishy. I guess it worked! Watch out!! With last three digits, even a moron knows there are only 0-9 digits so having last three you may have just as well giving the last 4. These warnings are real, and anyone can sell your info online! I will be filing a company and police report.

WARNING: There's a dude there that is asking for everyone's VIN and/or plate number. Think about it…read more... they're trying to raise data to sell it. A lot of buyers for that data would be very interested in mailing you stuff about what you drive. I'm not giving you my VIN number just to buy 5w30 motor oil, jerk.

Yelps sending me sweet little messages today asking me what I thought about "Advanced Auto Parts"…read moreLOL Well, I thought about that for a few mins and LOL, I'm glad you asked. We LOVE "ADVANCED AUTO PARTS" all kinds of em LOLOLOLOL. If you been following us, which is dangerous in itself, you will know we LOVE CARS. So we spend a great deal of time shopping at "Advanced Auto parts store." If you follow us, you know we travel nonstop & have been traveling non-stop for YEARS. Do you really think we do all that traveling in just one or two cars? LOL. We got cars. We got lots of cars, we got a whole fleet! A chip off the old block, wax on, wax off... Learned behavior from my dad. Who also has so many freakin cars, toys, a limo & a little Red airplane. La vie en Rose OuiOui. Well, I wrecked the limo & "I'm very sorry about that still daddy." That's why my daddy is teaching the sheriff (moi brother) to fly the airplane right now, not me. We will see how that turns out, as he has wrecked more of dad's cars than you can shake a stick at. hahaha. Anyhoo, we don't just like any dead-gum cars, we like cars with HORSEPOWER. Not the kind that leaves a stinky pile, the kind that burns rubber every mile! Hahaha. And we LOVE to travel in style! Usually in our Range Rovers. We got four of dem suckers. (Farting sounds) We also got two Porsche's. Wax on wax off. (more farting sounds) We don't have time to hand wash all of em, so we go thru the purple rain car wash with most of em. But the little red ones, the two Guard's Red Porsche's, we like to hand wash & wax. And wax poetic about all of em a little bit also OuiOui. Thanks to Advanced Auto Parts, they always have the hand wax goodies we like to use, to keep'em lookin good baby, even daddy's little Red Airplane OuiOui. Wax on, wax off. La vie en rose baby OuiOui. Highest Recommendations.

My neighbor needed brakes for his truck so I took him to the auto parts store. He told him to make…read morethe model and the year that his truck was. They said this is what you need. We drive back home and he tries to install the brakes they were wrong. So he had to gather all the parts back again. I drove him back to the parts store and he told him this is wrong. These don't fit so he went again and he told him this is the truck I have this is the year the model everything everything about that truck. So the guy takes the old the first part back and then he says OK. This is the one that you need. He said I'm sorry I made a mistake. Here is the one that you need. This will work. We get back to our place. They tried to install the brake pads and they won't fit. They're the wrong size. It was getting too late and starting to rain so he boxed up the brake parts and said can we go back up tomorrow? And we told him yes one of us will drive you so this morning when they open, we will be back at the parts store and we will have a master mechanic with us who has been in the business for over 60 years and knows exactly what our neighbor needs for his truck brakes. And they are going to return the wrong brakes again. This is gas used going up and back up and back up and back. So wasting of the fuel doesn't make me very happy. So hopefully this morning they will get the right part that may be a different person who maybe knows his job a little bit better and this Neighbor can get his brakes done. I would recommend O'Reilly's auto parts for some things, but I don't recommend some of their employees. People don't have time to waste on going back-and-forth and they don't have the money for gas to go back-and-forth. And because of this back-and-forth mess and the employee not knowing what he's doing is why I gave the two star review.

I go to proceed to pick my things up and FIND someone else and he then acknowledges me and I say" I was unsure if you were on the clock or not" trying to be nice and not bother him if he wasn't. But he was hanging over the counter giving that impression he wasn't supposed to be checking people out . Even though he was standing at the register...He then proceeds to say " well I wouldn't be here if I wasn't on the clock" rolls his eyes and starts to check me out ... I guess that hurt his feelings .. unpleasant. Not something I wanna deal with after being in the car for 7 hours .... Still being nice I said thank you and he didn't say anything back . Just a little aggravating...The older gentleman though was nice that works there. He should be checking people out .

Although it is getting harder to work on the newer vehicles with their advanced technologies, I occasionally find something I can work on. I really enjoy it and it is satisfying! My GO-TO Auto Parts store is now, without a doubt, O'Reilly Auto Parts! They really convinced me when I had to replace a window operating regulator for my BMW. IF I went to a BMW dealer, that repair total would be around $500. (I know, because I've had it done!). Just for grins I called O'Reilly to see if they had my part. I talked to Melissa, she was very knowledgeable and helpful. She quickly found they had an exact fit Dorman product. It was very reasonably priced AND carries a LIFETIME WARRANTY! How about that??? I drove to the store and bought that window regulator. Melissa was the one who helped me in the store, too. She is awesome! Once I got home, it only took about 30 minutes to replace the bad part. The new Dorman part was an exact fit and works perfectly! Hooray for O'Reilly!
