Dr. Wendy knows what shes doing, thats for sure. She's old school in all of the best ways and she always shows my pets such care. Couldn't reccomend Village Vet more. read more

I've always had good experience with Dr Wendy. We never brought cats in for surgery, though. We have a very "rowdy" cat, no other vet has been able to handle him. She did give him meds to calm him down, did an exam. Went in with our older cat, 18 years, she did a good job. Very love and caring. read more

We are told to pick up our male cat around 4:30pm, however, for our female cat, Blue, pick up is the next day at 11:30am. January 8, 2022 I arrived to pick up Blue and I am handed oral antibiotics medication and instructions. A bit confused I ask, "oh she did not get the antibiotic injection?". She tells me "No, she will need to take the oral medication". I am confused but decided this must be normal for this Veterinarian. January 9, 2022 I decided to take a few pictures to help me keep an eye out for infection. Her incision and sutures appear to be very jagged, but Blue seems to be fine. About six hours later, I noticed intense and dark bruising (like internal bleeding). I got really alarmed and posted some pictures to Facebook for advice. I am reassured that in some cases this type of bruising is normal for a few days. I feel better but can't help but think how this is the first time I have seen this, and I have had many cats spayed (always at HumanOhio). January 12, 2022 I notice a large lump is beginning to protrude below Blues incision site. I take more pictures and talk to some family about what I should do. I keep a close eye on her and after getting slightly bigger over a few days, the lump begins to decrease in size. I am relieved that this appeared to just be another weird/rare type of thing that happens. January 18, 2022 (Charlie & Shyla) Drop off at 8:45am for 2 of my cats (both female). We are told to pick them up the next day at 4:30. January 19, 2022 Arrive to pick up my girls and pay the bill (more about that later). At this time, I asked for the oral antibiotics and the receptionist tells me that they got the antibiotics injections. I comment, "oh, I didn't think you did the injections, my other cat received the oral medication". She explains it works out for me because the injections are cheaper (her words). This confuses me because Blue was given the oral antibiotics for no other reason than what I now understand is because it was more expensive. Also, at this time the Doctor informs me that "the little one" (Shyla) has some light bruising. I am then handed my cats and I ask the receptionist if she could open the door for me. As I walk outside, she tells me they need to come back in two weeks to get their stitches removed. I am taking a back and I reply, "oh they aren't dissolvable?" She says "no, they need to come back". I then ask if I needed to bring Blue back as well because I was never told that. She says she told my husband over the phone. I say OK and make a time on January 21st to take Blue in to get her stitches removed. To me this is weird, but alright. Later that night I notice Charlie is up and walking around. I go to pet her and that is when I notice she has HUGE indents on each side by her back legs. I immediately began to panic! These indents are so huge and deep when my fingers are wrapped around her, they can touch through her skin on her underside. My husband goes to the computer and learns that a cat's body can do this when it experiences a certain level of trauma. Their body will suck itself in deep in order to try and protect the rest of the organs. This can take up to a week to go back to normal. So, guess just another weird/rare thing that can happen, right? (as of 2/13/22 Charlie still has slight indentations). January 21, 2022 I had been thinking about how they were going to remove these stitches. I was worried about this so as I was waiting for the doctor to get back from lunch, I asked the receptionist if she knew how stitches are removed from cats (sedate, hold down, a device). She says she does not know. I begin to explain the things that had gone on with Blue and Charlie. I just wanted some reassurance that this procedure would not traumatize Blue. I am told, "Well, the stitches are dissolvable (WHAT!!!). However, because they can take longer to dissolve, the doctor prefers to remove them and then check the incision site". I asked why I was told before they were not dissolvable, if they are. She replied, "I didn't tell you they weren't dissolvable". I reminded her of the conversation just two days prior. After asking for further clarity because I am confused, she tells me that "it's up to me whatever I want to do." I quickly reply, "do I need to be here with Blue or not?" She then goes to a side room, and I can hear her on the phone asking someone if they are almost there (assuming she is speaking with the doctor). After a few minutes a Vet Tech comes out to get Blue. Before I hand her Blue, I explain that I just found out about the dissolvable stitches. I ask if I could please speak with the Vet for a moment for some clarity on this. She replies "well, we don't always use dissolvable." read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE My cat was scheduled for a spay with them. Immediately upon walking in I could sense it was shady. They couldn't remember whether the appointment was for a cat or dog. Immediately took my cat away from me, then put a contract in front of me where they had none of the info they were supposed to have filled in but were insisting I signed it. Refused to put everything down on paper; instead just kept pulling numbers out of thin air verbally (was supposed to be around $50 but went to $100 really quickly when i started questioning). They also do not give pain medication to take home unless you insist for it. Imagine going through basically a hysterectomy and not getting pain medication for the days following your procedure? This is out of date, INHUMANE practice. After calling a different vet for a second opinion, once I stated she was at Village Vet they told me "go get your cat right now". I can't help but think my instincts saved my cats life. Again, do NOT take your pets here. read more

I received my cat back today from a spay surgery. I dropped her off at the Village Vet in Waterville Ohio at 8:45 AM yesterday as agreed. That afternoon I was contacted and told to wait to pick her up until the following day, although we arranged for a 4:30 PM pick up the same day. I asked if anything was wrong that could explain the deviation from the original plan and they said no, they just wanted to keep her for another day. I picked her up 20 minutes ago and when I arrived home, she had a hole where light could visibly be seen shining through her ear. When I called the vet office, I was told repeatedly, "she got nicked" "It's fine it will heal", and "come back in 10 - 14 days to have the stitches removed". I never received an explanation for how this could have happened. I specifically said, "how did my cat having surgery on her abdomen get a hole in her ear." They were just throwing random excuses at me. At one point in time they even said she did it to herself. I am disgusted right now, and would like this to be noted. This office injured my pet through negligence and then lied to try to cover the excuse. It seems obvious that this is why she was kept overnight as opposed to the original plan. Accidents happen, I'm fine with that. Outright deception is disgusting and should disqualify this veterinarian professionally. I strongly recommend you reconsider licensure of this office and veterinarian. read more

Love them! All of my fur babies have been seen by Waterville Village vet. 2 dogs and 6 cats. They truly care about every single one of them! My muzzled dogs; who I was sure would try to bite came out wagging tails and no muzzle. Which is such a huge deal for us. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. read more

Several reasons exist as to why I do not recommend the Village Vet in Waterville. I have known thus vet for longer than 25 years. The most recent complaint is her using CONVENIA for all her surgical patients and charging clients for the injection, claiming it is to "protect the animals from potential infection." CONVENIA is an injectable long-lasting antibiotic that has many possible side effects ---- including anaphylaxis that can cause DEATH! CLIENTS ARE NOT INFORMED OF THE SIDE EFFECTS! CONVENIA CAUSED THE DEATH OF MY PRECIOUS SIBERIAN CAT, SILVER PUFF, IN 2019, given by a vet tech at Whitehouse High Point Veterinary Hospital. When I took a rescued male to Village Vet to be neutered in 2021, WITH RULE TO NEVER USE CONVENIA ON ANY CATS I BRING THERE ---- I SAW ON INVOICE that the vet did use it and charged me $40 for it! I had a melt-down there in her office and she ordered me to leave and never come back. read more

If you truly love your animals take them somewhere else. I was misinformed about this place. I really wish I could go back in time and i would've taken my cat here. She was spayed and they sent her home knowing she was not right. My cat ended up passing away after coming home. When I contacted them and told them my concerns they dismissed them and gave me an appointment for almost 3 days later. My fur baby is gone and nothing will bring her back, but people should be aware. My family is devastated. She went to the vet fine and came home only to lose her life. I regret putting her life in their hands. They will never admit to their faultd and that's fine, but I know in1 my heart my cat was good and healthy until she was operated on at the horrible place. read more

I hate writing a bad review, I waited over a week before I decided to write this one. Having moved back to the area recently our former vet didn't have an available appointment and our dog needed care ASAP. I called on a Friday and got an afternoon appointment on Monday. I had read the recent reviews but had family who had used this vet years ago, since my baby needed help I thought I'd try Dr Wendy and the Village Vet. Maybe this would be my new vet, but I was extremely disappointed. We waited over a half hour after my appointment time to be seen. My concerns were that my dog was licking and biting at her rear hind end. i asked about possible lymph node type infection, bug bite, pulled muscle, possibly an anal glands issue? Dr Wendy combed for fleas, their were none, as I told her. She wanted to then shave my dogs upper leg, I told her that was one sound that caused extreme discomfort and anxiety to my dog, she then told me I needed to desensitize my dog to those sounds. After being told my dog was an abused rescue dog. I groom the dog myself, due to extreme separation anxiety, she told me I should take her to professional groomer...they of course have that service too, I should make my dog get used to being in a kennel... well I treat my dog as a family member with love. dr Wendy then decided that possibly this was a skin infection and gave her a anti inflammatory shot and prescribed skin relief pills to be taken 2x a day. She DID NOT CHECK the anal glands at all, dismissing my concern. We waited over 20 minutes then to get a bill and check out, the bill included a "prepaid fecal test" for $22 which I did not agree to and the snarky office staff told me that she "just does what she is told" and wouldn't remove the charge. The total bill was over $183 which was rather pricey for not helping my dog at all. Over $100 of that was the shot and pills she prescribed that were for her bogus diagnosis. I secured an appointment with my former vet four days later who immediately expressed both of my dogs anal glands which were infected, bloody and causing discomfort to my poor dog. it seems from reading the other reviews that Dr Wendy just lives in her own world that she helps these animals, but in my opinion she doesn't and according to other reviews dogs and cats have died or suffered disfigurement from the service at this vet facility. I'll be sure to pass on my experience with all my family and friends. Word of mouth can be the worst advertising a businesss can receive, too bad pet comfort and owner satisfaction isn't as important as excessive prices charging and getting paid for tests you never perform. Steer clear of this vet, the emergency vet would have been a better choice for a REAL diagnosis at a cheaper fee. read more

My new rescue dog needed spayed after I adopted her. I was told that this vet offered a reduced fee for spays. I had just lost my job, so I was hoping to save some money on the vet fees if possible. The morning I arrived to drop off my dog is when they informed me that she would be staying over night. That was my first red flag. When I picked her up the next day, at 4:30 pm, by appointment only, she wasn't ready as they were re-bandaging her in the exam room and all I could hear was her screaming as they removed the bandage. I am not ever aware of a female dog needing a bandage wrap after a simple spay. Second red flag. I had to now schedule another appointment to have the bandage removed and her incision checked in three days. Third red flag. I could go on and on but the final thing was when I was reviewing by invoice of my charges, $280, I noticed that there was only one medicine (anesthesia) given during surgery. In other words, no intubation, no IV fluids, I also know this because she did not have a shave mark on her leg that is indicative of having an IV on dogs. So just a simple anesthesia shot, and surgery was performed. I will not be returning to this vet, and also cancelling my third appointment for removal of staples. My total so far is in excess of $330. read more

They butchered my cats hands, along with others that I know of. She has 4/8 fingers left and .5/8 claws left. Every finger left is a nub, except the one finger that they didn't completely remove her claw and is still stuck in her hand. It has been a year since and she still has a scab on one of her numbs. One of the saddest things I've ever seen. read more
