The best UPS store I've been to! I am a frequent online seller, and therefore shipper. I have been to MANY UPS stores. Owned by a husband and wife. The wife, Michele, came to everyone in line and brought them to where they needed to be, or tried to help them in any way she could. Lines went very quickly. The husband, Milt, notarized some papers for me. He was a complete gentleman while walking me through the process. Both owners were smiling and friendly as ever. Staff were efficient and positive. I giving the one star because I called to this store to get an update on a return shipment because I was unable to read the tracking number that was provided on my receipt. A man named Milton answered the phone. He couldn't find my information in the system and acted like it wasnt a big deal. Then he hung up on me. When i called back he said he didnt like my tone of voice. I was simply repeating back to him what he said. When I called back I asked him did he hang up on me and he said u would do it again. This location is amazing. I dropped off a package with Michelle, the owner. She was very personable and friendly. I needed to tape up the box and cover existing labels and she did all of that for me. Each ups location is different. After reading some negative reviews I was a bit worried, however...the problems they were having weren't with THIS actual location. You can't slam a small business owner for the issues with corporate or other people. Good grief. I use ups stores all over the country (travel a lot for work) and this one was one of the friendliest and expedient I've encountered. Great job Michelle! read more

Yelp is the great equalizer- you get great service , prospective customers deserve to know. You get egregious service, prospective customers deserve to know... here's my true story. I shipped a wine refrigerator from Salisbury to San Francisco from this store owned by Milt Catlin. When the fridge was received in San Francisco, it was damaged beyond repair and although Mr Catlin sent someone to take pictures of the damage and subsequently agreed that a fork lift probably caused the damage, since it happened after it had left his store, he said that he was not responsible even though my contract was with him. After telling me for months that he was following up on the status of the insurance claim to have me reimbursed for the damage, he said that he actually never filed an insurance claim because he was trying to sell the store and if he filed a claim, his insurance would increase making the store less attractive to prospective buyers. I eventually realized that Mr Catlin had no intention of ever reimbursing me for the damage so I contacted The UPS Store corporate offices in San Diego and explained my experience with Mr Catlin to them. They subsequently followed up with him and I received payment from Mr Catlin 14 months after the fridge was damaged. As a result of my experience dealing with Mr Catlin, the next time that I need to ship any package from Salisbury, I plan to call a different shipping service or 800-pick-ups and have UPS pick the package up directly from my home rather than use his store. read more

Scammy store. They won't accept a broken keyboard for a warranty return in its original box securely packaged and labeled. They want you to buy one of their overpriced boxes, because to quote "that box won't fit on the truck correctly". I swear this was their exact words. Sure, you can use your own boxes, assuming you can find a good fit but unless you keep a library of boxes around your house that isn't likely an option. Go to Autozone, their Amazon drop off doesn't have any such ridiculousness. read more

It seems that the agreement between Amazon and UPS of FREE returns is costing the Franchisee. So, the location is charging $1-2 for label printing, even though Amazon says the return is FREE with UPS Store drop off. When I spoke with Amazon Customer Service, it was stated that Amazon was not aware of this. Well, it's being done. If you're doing an Amazon return, bring extra money; These guys are going to skim a little. It's sad that local businesses want people to shop local, but they're the first ones to try and "lie, cheat, and steal" from the community. read more

This is my second review for the UPS store. My first review was for the previous owner. The store changed ownership in 2013. My experience at this UPS Store under the direction of a new owner has been a much more pleasant experience. THE STORE NOW TAKES PREPAID LABELS, is courteous and helpful with getting your package sent out, and is nice enough to throw some extra tape on your package for you. Save your gas/time and go here instead of driving up to the main UPS facility. read more

Won a replica gun from the local auction house for $150.00 they send all the items for shipping to this store. Jackie called to inform me that my item was packed and ready to ship. Price, $105.00 !!!!!!! From Maryland to Utah $79.00 ground! Then $13 for the box and $12 for "packing" material, I guess shrink wrap has gone way up! I need to check and see if the owner Milt is a partner with the auction house. Sweet deal! Jackie informed me that they were the only UPS store in town, and this was "standard" pricing. I have never had such terrible service as I experienced at this store today. For starters, my co-worker stopped by to drop a couple of prepaid labeled packages. When he put them on the counter and started to walk out, I believe the manager told him that he would have to move it to another area. Totally fine, but is the guy incapable of moving the packages himself? Isn't that kind of what UPS does? Later, we returned with several other prepaid labeled packages. My co-worker went in to get a cart and asked if they had a computer where we could print out the labels for the remaining packages (we had just driven from Chincoteague Island, where there was no UPS available from which to ship). They didn't (also fine), so we returned to the hotel to print out the remaining labels there. I took the packages back to the store, and carried the first two inside. I asked for the clear sleeves for the labels, but the store did not have them. They said they would tape my labels on for $1 per package. Call me crazy, but that seems a little steep for a few pieces of tape. I grabbed my packages back up and said I would tape them myself, and walked out in a huff. I returned to the hotel, dug out a roll of tape from all of my supplies, and taped the labels on. However, when I returned to the store to drop my packages, the manager told me he would not accept my packages because I gave them "attitude" when I was in 15 minutes before. Yes, I was a little snippy when I came in with my untaped labels the first time. But refusing to let me drop my packages (and it's not like the manager even has to do anything! I add them to the pile of packages that are already awaiting pickup!) seems insane. Fingers crossed that I never have to do work in this area again, but if I do, I'm certainly bypassing this store to head straight up to the UPS Customer Service Center. They were really polite there but then I guess I didn't have to bother them for label sleeves or tape! (Also, the UPS website says the store is open on Saturday - but it is not. We discovered this when we ran out of equipment and had to have something overnighted for Saturday delivery. We ended up having to ship to Ocean City instead.) read more

The UPS store has shipped several large items for me, mostly stuff I sold on eBay. No issues with several guitar amps and guitars. I have always packed these up myself because I saved the original boxes, but I've seen some oddball stuff in the store that Milt has packed up for shipping that would have been out of my league. Milt has also started offering printing, binding and even custom name tags (mine is on order now). More going on here than just shipping! read more

I had a very important package that had to go out on Saturday for Monday delivery and this was the nearest location to my home that could do that. It was the last step in a very long project and Milt at the UPS made it so easy. I walked in with my stack of documents and he helped me find the right box and package it all up safely and securely, label it correctly and get it on its way. It was so nice. Do yourself a favor and ship elsewhere this office is by far the most disorganized, unprofessional business I have ever had the unfortunate pleasure to deal with. From the employees to the manager Milt and all the way to the UPS Store Corporate Office. They are great at losing your insured package and not honoring your insurance claim. I had been diplomatic with them for over 4 months to get my claim processed only to find out they refused to pay for the loss while in their possession. After providing documented photo evidence, paperwork, and various other evidence, they continue to never return phone calls. The manager gives a "babe in the woods" routine to shift blame, and their corporate office treats you like you are second class citizen. As a result I have had to retain an attorney to further seek my losses from this unfortunate issue. BE WARNED THEY ARE HIGHLY DISREPUTABLE. read more

I went to drop off a prepaid package at this UPS store. Sounds normal right? I mean I had done it all the time at other UPS store locations without any hassle. Upon showing my package to the employee, I was told that the "UPS Store does NOT accept prepaid packages and that UPS and UPS store are not the same". Perplexed, shocked, um, yeah that doesn't make any sense to me seeing as I've always dropped off packages at other UPS stores no questions asked and that's UPS tells you that you can drop them off! Am I missing something here..? He said he'd "take it this time" and did agree to give it to UPS...Okay great..yeah please do so since it's your JOB. Despite the other reviews found here, I would like to give extra kudos to the employees of the UPS Store in Salisbury, MD for their outstanding service to me recently. Their owner/manager was more than helpful in helping me solve a problem that I had with locating a precious package that was set to be delivered to my son in the military. He was able to determine that the package had been delivered to his base and then took the extra step to ensure that he actually received it. I appreciate the personal attention he gave to me and my plight. Although my son did not receive his package ON his birthday as planned, he made sure that he received it as quickly as possible and just in time for Easter.
