I had an opportunity to visit this location recently. This feedback is for the management at this location and probably the manager of the manager of this location. Your employees really need some customer service training. I had the opportunity during a 35-minute session (more on why I had to spend 35 minutes in the store) to observe the interactions between the desk clerks and customers of all ages. If you have your phone ready, look young and are "techy ready" the staff can quickly help you because the only work they have to do is scan your phone, potentially print a receipt and out you go without even any eye contact or thank you very much. If, however, you have some questions on types of shipping service, costs, or heaven forbid you need something printed, heaven forbid!! The staff quickly turns short. Back to my 35-minute wait. If I need something printed at a UPS store, I always bring multiple sticks because the Xerox printers at UPS locations are very finicky. At this particular store plebeians are not allowed to use the self-service printers with-out employee assistance. Once approved staff inserted each USB key, the device informed us on a large LED panel, "There are no documents on this device". I was informed: "It has problems with PDFs", (Hmm, that is the universal format). Also, on this date I needed double-sided color prints. I was sure that this was Xerox's wheel house. The priestess solemnly took my 2 USB keys to the dark confines of the rear of the store. I wanted to remind her of the print parameters. Scandalously, I committed a UPS store verboten action. I took a step past the invisible line where customers must never cross. Quickly all clerk eyes swiveled toward me and the one closest to me exclaimed, "You can't be here !!" Lest a lightning bolt descend from the UPS laser shooting defense station in synchronous orbit, I jumped back to where we unclean customers must prostate while awaiting to be served! Crisis averted. Finally, I heard the printer slowly spin up and it started to spew my long-awaited treasure of hard physical print copy. Uh oh, it is in black white. No!! It is single sided!! No!! This cannot be. The priestess emerged from the holy of holies, apologized, and vowed to redouble her efforts. A few minutes later the printer rumbled back into life and slowly 2 beautiful color double sided pages presented themselves. The printer stopped. Wait. Where is the rest of my 35-page document. The cleric emerged, observed, and stated never worry Obi Wan, that was just a test run. Then several more minutes passed. A few more. The priestess emerged and formally declared that the printer was "down". It must be reset and the deacon of print must be consulted on how to reset it. (Presumably this was the local store manager). The deacon declared that it must first be powered off for 2 minutes. (I think that is so that bad electricity can drain out of the machine.) After the prescribed 2 minutes a reset was attempted. Failure. Let it rest 5 more minutes the deacon declared. At this point, I was asking myself. My 86-year-old dad does not really need a hard copy. I think I could teach him the basics of iPad navigation, swipe motions, and the PDF format lickety-split. It can't be that hard, can it? Finally, my prescribed document emerged. As I proceeded to the altar of payment, I noticed that the black footers on my pages were really gray. I suggested to the deacon that perhaps she should check the black toner on the printing behemoth. She promptly denounced me with the incontrovertible and unassailable statement, "The computer has not told me it needs toner." I meekly showed her my light grey footers, she observed, and denounced her eye sight. Harrumph. Then I was presented with the invoice for all the fine service, education, spiritual uplifting that I acquired at this store. $35. A dollar minute. What a bargain. read more

Though unsuccessful, it was truly not her fault as faxing is an admittedly archaic form of communication that our very own government has forced upon me! Bahahaha! read more

The girls at the store are very accommodating. The store also gets very busy if you do not have patience for the girls to help you and are not willing to wait in line when they are busy then do not go there, but they accommodate you as fast as they can and they are very helpful. read more

By far the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. Rude employees, that refuse to help, then end up finding your overnight shipment TWO days later after going in person to ask why the app isn't updating and being told they can't help me and they're not going to go look in the back for it, my husband calling asking them to please look, and then it finally took another large cooperation to call them for them to finally go look and FIND IT there the whole time!! The ladies that work at this store have always been very professional, helpful, friendly, and etc... to me and everyone - every time I have gone in there. They usually have 3 employees in there at a time, which is more than at most stores. They are polite and help people individually until the next person. I was online checking to see what time they open and saw harsh reviews and I totally disagree. I see this as a great place to have a mailbox (which I do), and to ship and receive packages (which I also do often). I get a text message every time a package arrives and I go pick it up. A Very nice service, and very helpful and safe package delivery. Anyway, I just honestly think this store is a good place, good location, well staffed with friendly professional employees. read more

Terrible service. One girl at the counter, and one walking around. 8 customers standing in line, all the way to the door. The girl at the counter was taking her ever-lovin-time! She didn't care that we were business people, in a hurry. The other girl could have worked the other register, but I guess she couldn't be bothered! I waited a loooong time! I just needed to drop off a package that was already paid, but finally gave up and walked out. Never Again. Take your package needs elsewhere. These people don't care about your business. Just look at the other reviews. Notice any good reviews, always know the girls names. Probably family! No one else would appreciate the service here. read more

I had a package to return to Amazon. I had gone online and printed out the shipping labels, so everything was ready when I arrived at the store. A sweet young girl named Meahgan (or Meagan perhaps) took the package and labels and asked if I would like a receipt for the drop-off. I said, "Yes," and she scanned the label and printed my receipt with the nicest smile to accompany her excellent service. I was in and out of the store in less than a minute. read more

Twice in a week and a half I dropped off packages in the morning and they do not leave the store until the next day. Yesterday I dropped of a piece of telecommunication test equipment using Next Day Air Service with a guaranteed delivery of 10:30 AM this morning. The package has yet to leave the UPS Store and its 10 minutes past the guaranteed delivery date. It's a shame that USPS is outperforming UPS. If you can, use a different UPS location, the kids in this store need better supervision. read more

I print my labels at home, and only go in this store to drop off my packages. The girls are always fast and friendly. The problem with this store?? The customers!! I waited 15 MINUTES behind a man on the phone, who just could not decide how fast he wanted to ship his package, and if he wanted to pay that much. Literally, kept asking the UPS girl about the different options. The left without shipping it. Seriously? And this happens a lot. You can't blame the store for being slow when its the customers that can't make a decision. Ship your package and get out of the way people. read more

This franchise is run, and staffed, by teenagers that couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were written on the bottom. Every time I have tried to ship something from this store it gets screwed up, and since that doesn't happen when I take it to the customer center of UPS, it can only be due to the incompetency of the employees at this location. It is more trouble to go to the main UPS location, they don't box or wrap, and they are only open for a few hours in the afternoons. but at least I know my packages will arrive to the correct address and on the designated delivery date. I rarely use UPS Store's services but... the store was closer to me then the US Post Office off 52nd Street...so I though why not. I told Karley, employee, the urgency of the package needing to be sent over night and delivered 1st thing on 1/13/2021. The cost was $79.01. Karley nor the other associate working there at that time EVER mention any/ all shipments are NOT GUARANTEED (no matter the cost) due to COVID... which is b.s. I called the store manager Kristy Tovar who after discussing a refund rambled off a COVID excuse that any/ all shipments were not guaranteed. My son is a hotshot driver and could not get into a military base without a 2nd Id... to drop off his load with his proper criteria. Naturally, the UPS Store's unfollowed procedures by employees screwed this up. I WILL GO TO THE US POST OFFICE From here on out ! YOU MIGHT CONSIDER taking another route before dealing with The UPS Store off 42nd street. The UPS Store-takes NO ownership of any transactions taken no EXCEPTIONS! I wish I could give no stars. Terrible service and every time I need to go in there it never fails that the workers are on their cellphones. The manager is unhelpful and when you need to ask something they always seem to give sarcastic answers or roll their eyes. The last time I went in there, there was a long line and only one person was helping. I was standing in line for 15 minutes and then 2 more workers finally decided to come and help from the back. There is just one good worker I have encountered and if at all costs only ask for her. I don't remember her name but I think it started with an I, so ask for that if that person still works there ha!
