THIS IS A REAL REVIEW
Dr. Larry Burks is a scam artist. He took an x-ray of my neck and convinced me that I had some upper cervical issues. He ran this magical wand down my neck that apparently shows you the energy flow of your brain stem, and based on the squiggly line that appears on his machine he can tell which way to crack my upper cervical bones.
After the first session he essentially gives you a sales pitch. It will take X number of sessions to cure your headaches.. for me he said it was 20 sessions. He then goes on to say that each session would be, if I remember right, $75, but if I act now I can save a couple hundred dollars, so it would only be $1,300... paid up front of course. How can you tell exactly how many sessions would align my cervical bones? I should have asked myself that. But when you're in so much pain you're willing to try anything. And I believe he exploites this.
Each session is about 10 minutes long, he sees several clients at a time, cracking people's necks and then placing them in a room with meditation music. 10 minutes for 75 bucks.. pretty good money, eh?
Anyways, after a couple sessions I notice I would get dizzy, particular while driving, which is hard because I drive for a living. I mentioned this to Dr. Burks and his solution was to crack my neck more, because apparently the squiggly line on his little machine is still pretty squiggly. What resulted from the several sessions was extreme pain in and head and neck, and long dizzy spells. I couldn't work for a couple weeks, and missed out on making a lot of money.
Several sessions in he said that if I want to just stop he understood. He said that some people decide to stop and not finish the sessions and never come back because of similar symptoms. I thought it was strange because during his sales pitch he said no one's ever had any side effects from his procedures.
Since I prepaid obviously I was due some money back . But apparently since I didn't do all 20 sessions I got charged full price for the sessions... how nice of him. $800 that went on a credit card.. every month when I make a payment to this credit card I think of this piece of shiite.
It took several weeks for me to feel normal again. I lost several thousand dollars because I couldn't work.
A few months after this ordeal I went to a head and neck doctor, and apparently Dr. Burks procedure was causing inflammation in my neck which was putting pressure on blood vessels and causing me to feel dizzy. The X-ray my new doctor revealed that there was no need to adjust my cervical bones.. they were perfectly fine. My headaches were coming from muscles in my neck and shoulders.. Nothing to do with my cervical bones.
I'm considering a lawsuit, and so should anyone else who's had a similar experience. Please please please post a review of Dr. Burks if this is your experience. We need real reviews on Google and Yelp. Best of luck to everyone. read more
