Okey dokey...let's try this! 8 Hearts is conveniently located in the Macadams area in the Water Tower complex. Easy breezy parking and a very nice location. It took a few weeks for my initial appointment but it was worth the wait. I arrived and briefly met Dr. Natasha and then Emily. I completed a in depth questionnaire about my health status and then Emily took me in to her relaxing, comfortable space. Emily took the time to get to know me, which I appreciated. We focused on the most pressing issues, my problematic shoulder specifically. My first acupuncture focused on my shoulder but the insertion of the needles was all over my body. I admit, I was fascinated about how the different pressure points correlated to different body parts. I had done my homework and knew that it would take several visits before I would really know if it was making a difference. Appointment one. I was surprised that the needles really didn't hurt. No biggie. Appointment two? Cupping. Yeah, Google "cupping". It friggin involves fire. Maybe an over reaction...really just a flame. Emily uses it to take the air out of the cup and then applies the cup to whatever body part you're having issues with. I'm not going to lie. It hurt like a mother and creates some dark bruises. But, with that being said, I LOVE IT! During the process, the cups draw up old blood and lymph. If it hurt too much, Emily would lessen the suction. I have been to Eight Hearts six times or so. I am now a believer and look forward to my appointments. I am on a three week schedule now and the time between appointments will continue to grow. I'm a fan. They, and especially Emily, rock.

So kind of difficult to express concerns, dissatisfaction, or ask questions. Yes, I have used the app in the past. I have since replaced my phone (reset apps), have multiple apps from multiple providers, and honestly it's difficult to keep them all straight. Expecting me to only communicate through an app and never receiving even one phone call back from my voicemails is just more confirmation of my position. At no point was it explained to me that I will now have to send in paperwork to insurance myself. It seems like the front desk person could've easily expressed that to me, instead of just repeating "payment is due at time of service". I was also never given any notice about being able to keep you as my doctor, I was just sent to a new Dr without notice. Yes, I was recently finally prescribed HRT, after two separate rounds of trying botanicals (and expressing that they didn't work, which both sets of my labs supported), and demanding it in my last visit. I really do appreciate finally receiving a response, even though I had to go to this extreme to get it. I too am hurt by the lack of care and communication, as I have been a responsible long time patience. Also very disappointed that the response takes zero responsibility for poor basic office communication. I will be requesting my medical records and seeking care elsewhere.

When I started treatment and my lab results eventually hit the normal range, most doctors would have said that was good enough. But Dr. Erik listened closely to how I was actually feeling and didn't stop there. He was generous with adjusting my dosing, going beyond the numbers to make sure I felt incredible, all while closely monitoring my health. This place absolutely ruined my skin. I tried to go about it…read morethe right way and get a referral from my primary care to get my labs done, which tested low and get referred to an endocrinologist. But even with low numbers and being in my mid 30s they refused to see me. So I shopped around and found full potential. My interactions with staff and Dr were fine they tested me and immediately got me started on 200mg weekly injecting 2x per week. My labs came in and they were close to 1500! They kept me on this dose. Everything was fine for the first 5 or so months until my skin absolutely exploded with horrific cystic acne on my shoulders and is slowly spreading to my back and chest. I decided to explain this to my primary care and he took over my treatment immediately cutting my dose in half, I feel mentally or physically no difference being at 100mg weekly. But now I'm stuck seeing a dermatologist monthly, getting extra labs done for them while I'm taking a serious medication called accutane because of the reaction to high testosterone. So be advised they have you on a very hefty dose with very high on the scale numbers. I think going from 135ish-1450ish is completely inappropriate and is just asking for trouble.
