He transformed it into one of the most exquisitely beautiful pieces of furniture I now own. These items mean a lot to me as they belonged to my Mum for decades and were her favorite pieces of furniture. After decades of use they were well worn and in need of repair and new fabric. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MICHAEL IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PROFESSIONAL, REASONABLY-PRICED FURNITURE CRAFTSMAN! And, he's a really nice guy, too! Kim K.

We went to all the big name furniture stores looking for a replacement and could not find one for a reasonable price. Nor could we find one that looked the way we wanted it, not too mention most everything in the stores was cheaply made. Anyway, on to the review.... We saw Michale's one day driving through Chelmsford Center and decided to give him a call. He came out to the house and gave us an estimate. It was a few weeks before he could pick it up and a few more weeks before he got it back to us. This was OK as we were not in a hurry. I think he is a one man operation and at the time had a lot of work in his shop. The couch came out fantastic. It was only slightly more expensive than the ones we looked at in the stores. Of course that could be due to picking one of the most expensive fabrics! I would highly recommend Michael's. Not only is he good at what he does he is an absolute gentleman. Something you don't get too often these days.

It makes me feel proud that I got them fixed, although some had advised me to just toss them. Everyone - go here!!! They are great!!!

The finish was damaged, and the top was badly scratched up by years of dogs jumping up on it. When I finally decided to have it refinished, I chose Murphy's based on my daughter's experience with them, and expected them to do as good a job as possible under the circumstances, but they really exceeded my expectations -- it looks wonderful, better than it looked when I first inherited it! When it came to our 4-piece living room sectional, we did not want to get rid of it because we knew we could not replace the style and fit for our living room. We convinced the insurance company to allow us to re-upholster it and we are so glad that we did. We contacted Steve and from that moment on, we knew we made the right decision. He worked with us every step of the way to make sure that we had a fabric that we liked, a fabric that wold complement the renovations to the house, and he guaranteed that he would replicate the style of the original when it was completed. He provided the quote which was reasonable considering the work that was done. He confirmed the construction of the couch that was already 22 years old and made sure that after he was done, it would last at least another 22 years. The work that Steve and his family did to complete the job was nothing short of exceptional. When it was delivered, there were two sounds. The first was WOW and the second was when our jaws fell open and hit the floor. There were no words to describe the remarkable transformation. Not only did they match the original design and all the folds, but the sectional now looks better today than it did the day we bought it.
