She is now in the fourth grade (the school goes to fifth) and I will be sad to say goodbye. Audrey has learned so much and is on her way to being fluent in Spanish. I always get native speakers boasting about how well she speaks and that there is an absence of an accent. A true testiment to how much of an asset this school is to the future of Tulsa. It is a tough road at times but I recommend any child attend this school. So many opportunities will be available to a bilingual child. Eisenhower is their sister school. They offer French and Spanish. If you want to take a tour and be told that your child can start in a few days, but then have your communications ignored for a week, go here. If you want to be told "oh yes, we are big on potty training" but then absolutely no follow through, send your child here. If you want your children's belongings to be "lost" (blankets, paci's, crib sheets, cups, wipes, and Motrin that had to be signed into the office and kept there to be administered by office staff) then please send your child to this facility! In addition to the problems listed above: 1) Not being able to correctly sign my children in/out of the daycare for four out of the six weeks my children were enrolled because their information was imputed incorrectly. 2) While on the playground, three teachers sharing a bench more interested in their conversations than on the toddlers playing in front of them (two separate occasions I witnessed this). 3) I asked for a copy of their handbook three separate times over the course of three weeks. "Oh we are revising it." Sure, Susan. I'm not going to lie, with such an amazing facility (the place looks like rainforests cafe for Pete's sake!), I had really high expectations, so I get it's my fault for that. I just expected so much more professionalism, you know? I really only want what's best for my two kids and to know that they are ok in someone else's care. But if Victory ELC cannot be trusted even with these little (seemingly nuances) things then why should I trust them with my children's safety and well being? My children will not be attending this preschool in the future but I wish them the best and hope that this was an experience that they can learn from. I was there for only 4 years until graduation. I was lucky enough to receive a full scholarship for tuition and living expenses ($60,000) to a highly rated Private liberal arts college in New York, so I believe I was somewhat prepared. However, I had an undiagnosed auditory processing and aphasia learning issue which in those days was just swept under the rug. I took advantage of my time at college then moved abroad so I am unsure whether I could say my education from Edison was great. It was public school sink or swim.

Stillwater has 4 public elementary schools, one public middle school, one private elementary and middle school, and one public high school. Sangre Ridge is located next door to the middle school across the street from some of the more affluent neighborhoods. That's probably why it's ranked as best, more of the wealthier kids attend here. There are 2 large playgrounds and basketball courts. Sidewalks all the way to 19th street, plus 2 crossing guards on duty during the busy drop off and pick up times. Every teacher and classroom we've delt with has been awesome. Parking is limited, if there is a school event be prepared to park in a neighborhood and walk! It's really hard to find a house in Stillwater, epically in this school district. Berry Creek is pretty much your only option.

They have summer vacation bible school every year as well as camp at sunset bible camp. They don't look down on you if you don't dress up for church and during the school year they have an evening service for the kids every Wednesday and provide a van to bring the kids home. The curriculum is classical with emphasis on the basics of education - math, science, language, thinking skills, and arts. The strong Christian emphasis encourages service to those less fortunate, the community in general, and strength of personal character. Parental participation is not only encouraged, but is expected. When parents are involved, the education process does not end when the child leaves the school grounds. I have two grandchildren who attend this school and I could not be more pleased with the education they are receiving.
