Poor service. The bartenders actually come across the street to Local for their own drinks. Poor. Lol

I asked for a reservation to seat 12 ....well we got something that would seat maybe 10 Adults comfortably. The tables were also unstable and despite requests to get a new one nobody did anything. The menu on the main floor was limited and would have been nice to have the options from the lower floor. Atmosphere is dark dingy and dusty, I can understand if they were trying to keep the original style from the old location, but if your going to have 3 distinct floors then use some imagination and make them somewhat distinct. The food tasted good and came out fresh and hot. Overall i would say that there needs to be some work done on the ambiance. Nothing from my experience is making me want to return. read more

Absolutely horrible..... Used to frequent the old unicorn. The new location, fibe and atmosphere is horrible. Was next door for dinner and before heading home went over for a night cap. We are 2 couples, we walked into the main level at 11PM on a Friday to be told the main floor is closing but the basement is open. Walked down to the basement bar and up to the bar.... Only to be told that the main floor told them not to serve us. Bartender couldn't explain it, say one of us was drunk and agreed that he wouldn't come back either with that type of service. Thanks unicorn.... National enjoyed our business and we will never be back nor will our associations, businesses and so on. read more

I requested a patio table and the so called "Manager" told me that those tables were for 4 or more. We were 3. Throughout the lunch hour, no one sat on those tables. At the end of our lunch, I spoke to the manager and he told me that shortly before we arrived, someone reserved those tables (the two of them) but never showed. Outright lie. He also told me that he did offer the patio tables but we said that it was okay for us to sit where he told us. Another lie. Okay, enough about the manager. I ordered the meat tacos. I'm sorry to say that those tacos were the worst I have ever had. Taco Bell and Taco Time taste way better and they are way cheaper. One of my friends ordered the chicken tacos but he only ate 1 and a half. My other friend did eat his sandwich so I can't say for sure if he like it or not. On the positive side, I did like the glass of beer. I will never go back to "The Unicorn" There are so many other (Better) places in Stephen Ave. read more

We went in to The Unicorn on Canada Day for a night out after the fireworks, and left completely shocked. There were 10 of us, we took a table near the back on the first floor. Our server came up - really likeable girl, took our IDs and then drink orders, came back with drinks about 8-10 minutes later (it was really busy, we were fine to wait). After that we literally didn't see or hear from her again until the end. After about half an hour 80% of our table had empty glasses and were looking to order round two. No sign of server anywhere. We waited a little longer. Still nothing. Finally we decided that the night had kind of run it's course and we weren't going to wait another half hour for another drink. She appears, and notices all of our empty glasses and looks a little bit bashful, but again - she's really busy, we don't blame her, it sucks being in the weeds. We just ask for our bill, and she says "I'm sorry guys, I can't split your bills. It's our policy and it's crazy in here. You guys can figure it out though, right?" We nod and say that's fine. She leaves, comes back with the bill about 10 minutes later. We start trying to figure out how we're going to try to make this easier, and one of our friends lays out his credit card. She walks by and sees it, and that's when it gets to the reason for my review: "I'm not gonna take your guys 10 visa payments, there is an ATM in the corner. This is just how bars work." First off, we didn't have 10 cards out on the table - she had already told us we were getting one bill so we had tried to consolidate it down as best we could. Secondly, barely any of us had gone out with our full wallets / debit cards, and there is a $3 charge on every ATM machine - we would ALL do this just for our ONE $8 drink? No. Thirdly, and this was the cherry on top, "this is just how bars work".....WHAT? I've been working in the industry my entire life and I have never had someone be this condescending, especially since she had pretty much already ghosted on us for an hour. We were a really nice group of people - we totally understood that you were busy, we understood that you couldn't split our one-drink-each bills, but that you then had to come and say that as though this was us being a HUGE inconvenience for you? I was appalled. I've never left a bad review anywhere, I always take the side of the server/bartender (having been one for 10+ years), but congrats to this server - you singlehandedly earned my first. read more

I booked the space for a gathering for 30 people. Service was great. We just ordered munchies but they were tasty. It was a little loud as it was hockey playoffs. read more

Good service, tasty food. Didn't enjoy the music, nothing Celtic about it at all, little disappointed with that.

Not great service, but we were in a big group and moving all around so it's hard to keep up with that so I understand. I'm a sever so I always tip well... but this pisses me off to the core. I paid my bill without being given the receipt( just looked on the machine). Well, the bill already had been grated, without her saying anything or circling anything. At least give me the bill or tell me, so my bill was around 50$ and she ends up with a 30$ tip! Then gives me my bill after the payment went through. Sneaky sneaky. We went down the to basement after being on the main floor and they were great our server was amazing. But just so you know unicorn you have little rats working for you ( on your main floor). read more

We had a large group (18) there for a special event. Their Corporate Events team ensured everything was ready for us on the top level when we arrived, and the food was hot and very tasty (and I'm picky about my onion rings!) The service was great, prompt but not overbearing. As long as we booked our food order, there was no extra charge for the space, a real change and big improvement for those of us watching our $. Had been many times to the old location and really liked it. Last Saturday though I wasn't very impressed with the service. Got there to meet a few friends who were already about to order the last round before heading to another bar, the waitress serving us seemed to be very annoyed to be working that night and was not friendly at all from the start. I order a beer and wings and by the time I was done everybody was ready to leave. My bill was about 22 dol, gave the waitress 40 and asked for 14 back. She came back and left 11 at the table and said "here is your 14". Really? If she had given me two 5 dol bills plus two loonies I would totally have thought "oh, she probably thought she gave me two toonies", although it still probably wouldn't have been the case but I would have given her the benefit of doubt. But two 5 dol bill and 1 loonie?! Yup, you wanted to rip me off. I didn't say anything because I didn't know everyone on the table and would feel uncomfortable to do so. But, really? Hey blond grumpy girl who was serving the table at the right back corner on the main floor on Saturday Jan 7 around 9 pm: are you that dishonest all the time or only at work? Very ugly thing to do.
