When I then asked if I could please have a knife (I'm seven months pregnant, for context), she started to walk to get one, took two steps, turned back and said "you can go get it yourself". It felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive, especially given how quiet the café was at the time. We stayed for a while after and watched her standing by the counter organizing utensils, so it wasn't a matter of being too busy. There are lots of tables to sit and eat at within the play area. There are different play areas such as a doctor's office set up complete with little scrubs, hats, and stethoscopes. There's a firefighting area with fire fighter gear. As well as a farmer's market area with tons of toy produce. All the toys from each play area are scattered amongst the entire play room. Unfortunately, the experience took a turn when my partner opened his burrito and found a hair cooked into the eggs. He didn't want to make a big deal about it because we understand that accidents can happen, so we brought it back and asked if they could remake it. They were willing to remake it, which we appreciated. Since I had already finished eating, we decided to take the replacement burrito with us and head back to our hotel. When we got back, my partner opened the new burrito to eat it, and there was another hair in it! But deeper in the egg! At that point, we were honestly shocked. Finding one hair can unfortunately happen, but finding a hair cooked into the food and then finding another hair in the replacement is extremely concerning. My partner ended up not being able to eat his food at all. And now, after seeing that, I can't help but wonder whether I ate a hair in my own food without realizing it. I really wanted to love this place because my food genuinely tasted great, but having this happen twice in the same order completely overshadowed the experience. I hope they take this seriously and address their food-preparation and hair-restraint practices, because the food itself has potential... it was so good that I'm sad and grossed out all at the same time.
