Our son has a myriad of diagnoses, including autism, OCD, and anxiety. He is truly a wonderfully quirky kid, and one of the greatest gifts this school has given him is the opportunity to be surrounded by other quirky kids who accept him exactly as he is instead of trying to change him. For the first 12 years of his life, he attended public school in general education classes with some GT thrown in as well. He has an extremely high IQ, but the fast pace, constant transitions, and repetitive homework were overwhelming. He often became bored in class while simultaneously struggling to keep up with the demands of the environment. He masked his differences all day, then came home emotionally exhausted and overwhelmed. The result was increasing anxiety, worsening OCD, and a frustrating cycle that never seemed to end. At Focus Academy, we've watched that cycle break. He is genuinely happy. He is thriving academically because he's being challenged appropriately while also receiving the support he needs. Even more importantly, he has found people who understand and accept him for who he is. His confidence has grown, his anxiety has improved, and he is doing so much better socially. If you have a child who learns differently or simply needs an environment where they can be themselves, I can't recommend Focus Academy highly enough. It has truly been life-changing for our entire family.

Caroline had set up a recommended personalized program, based on an assessment of his current level, for our son which we decided to sign up for. We've seen a boost in our child's confidence and enthusiasm in regards to studying and learning. We truly feel that everyone at this center cares about our child's progression and doing a wonderful job. Thank you Sylvan for everything!

Our Daughter Wanted to Learn. We Were Deeply Disappointed…read more I have an academically mainstreamed teenager. I made a huge mistake counting on Fusion to help my family - my teenager missed 3 months of her well respected school second to illness and withdrew for the semester and went to Fusion desperate to learn and catch up. We realized early on that Fusion was not a good fit - teaching quality was, at times, dismal with poor accountability of advancing curriculum/challenging my teenager. Our sincere efforts to engage the individual teachers, administrations were numerous from the begining - encompassing easily 40 emails. Despite raising concerns repeatedly with teachers and administrators, we felt our concerns were dismissed or not meaningfully addressed. Per my teenager AND while overhearing an online class, the teaching was maybe15 minutes per 60 minute class and then teacher would make AI generated work for the student to do on own. You pay approximately $135/hr. I am so sorry to say this, but my teenager often felt some teachers were unable to answer questions in sufficient depth or explain the AI-generated assignments they provided. My teenager said it was a waste of her time --- the excruciating fact is that my teenager really wanted to catch up on missed school because of a long illness. She spent February to June, 2026, at Fusion & made little progress except for what she taught herself out of desperation (one good thing she learned to teach herself). The credits earned, we have decided, will not to ever appear on her transcript; for us, it does not represrent quality education. Forget the 16-17k, the tremendous family stress related to Fusion not delivering; it was my teenager that was affected most and I cannot stop apologizing to her for choosing Fusion.

No refunds after you make payment for the whole course either in the beginning even if you attended only a few classes. So read the fine line on the contract and look at some other test prep programs out there before jumping on this one. Cheers

I enrolled my son expecting structured training and support, but what we experienced was very different. The staff made promises during enrollment that were not followed through once he started. Make sure you get everything in writing, because what is said upfront does not match reality. In many cases, students were assigned YouTube videos instead of receiving hands-on instruction. There were frequent times when the teacher didn't show up, and students were moved between classes due to a lack of supplies. Even more concerning, students were often left unsupervised while instructors stayed in the office on their phones. This is not the level of education or accountability you expect when paying this kind of money. It feels like the school has stopped caring about student success. Don't put yourself into this kind of debt without getting the value you deserve.
