Taylor is extremely talented in the fine arts she loves to draw. While my friends were sending their kids to test prep for High School entrance exams. I was searching for the perfect Art Studio and Mentor for my daughter to build her portfolio. Once her pieces were completed she then applied to her top 3 NYC DOE Specialty High Schools. Her 1st choice High School of Art & Design, 2nd Frank Sinatra & her 3rd choice was Laguardia High School. In March! We wouldn't know if she got in until mid June. In the meantime we applied to Saint Frances Preparatory School AP Art Honors Program with the same portfolio and she got accepted! I knew she was safe for her back up High School if she wasn't accepted. I have to say finding Rob Zeller at The Teaching Studios of Art was the best thing I ever did for Taylor. He helped her focus and taught her the techniques she needed to fine tune her portfolio. For her Still Life piece throughout the entire process from the Pencil Sketch to transforming it into the most amazing oil painting. On June 8th we were going to find out if she got accepted to one of her 3 choices. My husband and I were in suspense with Taylor as we were checking to see if she got in. I was an amazing feeling seeing that she got accepted to a Specialty High School in NYC. But, she got into her first choice High School of Art & Design in Manhattan! Honestly, if it wasn't for Robert Zeller and his Art Studio in The Village of Oyster Bay, who could say more! I don't know where we would be. We signed up for the In Person Private Art Classes. She had 1 on 1 teaching and loved being their to paint. I am extremely grateful that I found The Teaching Studios and proud of all that Taylor was accomplish with Rob by her side. I can't wait for them to start working on her college portfolio for The School of Visual Arts! I know she will get in with Rob as her Mentor. Thank you. Did you even see what occurred when they were there? Were you in the room when the experiences I related happened? Were you privy to the phone calls and messages I received from Tutor Time? No. So you have no right to say I'm making stuff up and call me a liar. Alison and Danielle may be nice to you but they were not to my youngest son. They were very rude and nasty to him and couldn't wait to throw him out. They treated him like absolute dirt. One other thing that I didn't put in my first review is that I called my school district about what to do about my son and his situation at Tutor Time. When one of the directors who has a PhD in education found out that my son was attending Tutor Time of Massapequa, she said "I've had this conversation with them before. Their methods are terrible. The teachers have no training whatsoever. Their only response to when a child doesn't behave is to isolate the child and eventually try to get rid of the child which causes much more harm than good." So it's not just me. Tutor Time has a bad reputation with my school district and they have a low opinion of Tutor Time's methods. Don't tell people to ignore my review because it is a 100% accurate reflection of my children's experiences there and people should know that it isn't the happy, sunny place you insist it is.

The leadership at tutor time is filled with excellent people, they host fun events, have excellent communication with parents and build great relationships with everyone. In response to the negative review below - This is unbelievably inaccurate and is not at all a representation of Tutor Time. This has not been my experience in the 2+ years my daughter has been there and we have had nothing but positive experiences always. My daughter has a huge personality, super sassy and energetic. She is loved by everyone, the second she walks in the door she is getting hugs from everyone, past teachers come to see her in her class room and we even get to see some of the staff outside of TT bc they love her so much. Big personalities and lots of energy grow and prosper there and to say they are unwanted is very much untrue. Cleanliness is important to them, especially with covid and they are constantly taking the necessary precautions to keep the kids safe. I watch the cameras and they have very specific cleaning routines. My daughter has come home sick only once, for high fever - and she got it from her cousin not from the school. When they called me I was 45 minutes away and it was no problem at all, they were super sweet and took care of her until I could get there. The academic program is great - my daughter comes home every day learning new things. She soaks it up like a sponge and I love how many things they do every single day. There is always reading, writing, math, science - it blew my mind when she started how much she was actually learning. I thought they would spend most of their time playing but they fit in so much! For example just today they did days of the week, months of the year, weather, a fire drill sequence, a science experiment, learned about the ecosystem and counting. To say there is little to no academic instruction is insane and bizarre to me. Lastly, Allison and Danielle are amazing. They are incredibly sweet and love on my kid so much - and we don't have to "suck up" to get that kind of attention. They answer all my emails right away and are always so kind and helpful. They plan the most fun things for the kids and are always trying to do the best for them. I often get to the school early bc my job is so far away and if our daughters teacher isn't on site yet Danielle lets her hangout in her office with her, which is her favorite thing to do in the mornings! The director Christina should win an Oscar for her acting skills. She will promise you the world and pretend that she cares about your child. We wanted a daycare closer to home so we decided to switch our child over to Tutor Time. Once your child is enrolled, you actually see the horrific practices of this establishment. There is absolutely​ no structure. Children do whatever they want. There is always a different adult in the room. Additionally, they are not compliant with the state laws, which requires 1 teacher for every 5 toddlers. My child was often in a room with 7 other children and 1 unfamiliar face. As previous reviews mentioned, this is a puppy mill that only wants your money. During an 8 hour day, my child's diaper was only changed twice. State law requires that diapers be changed every 2 hours. One of the many teachers​ we saw often spoke down to the children, "you guys are three and you don't know how to place your hands on the wall?" We often walked past the infant room in the afternoon and saw babies crying hysterically because no one was paying attention to them. One day, another baby was biting the edge of a bookshelf as she was teething. No one stopped her from biting the bookshelf and its varnish coating. My maternal instinct knew something was wrong but I just needed my little one to last a few weeks until June. I asked my brother to pick up my little one from Tutor Time because I was going to be at work past my regular schedule. My brother and his girlfriend went in before my usual pick up time and upon walking to the classroom they saw the teacher, Janet, DRAGGING MY CHILD BY ONE ARM ACROSS 5 FEET OF CARPET. THIS DISGUSTING HUMAN BEING ATTEMPTED TO PICK UP MY CHILD BY ONE ARM AND DROPPED HIM. My brother immediately​ told the director, who did not remove Janet from the classroom for another two hours. Christina, the director, was suddenly worried about ratio issues. Compliance is never a concern for them but that day it was. Furthermore, Christina forced herself to cry, in an attempt to show empathy. We were promised the video evidence within 48 hours. We are way past the 48-hour deadline and still waiting for answers. Run far away from this place. I would never want this to happen to any other child.

Apparently he was allowed to roam freely, and not made to participate in activities. They're in 2 different age groups. The kids are basically shoved into a classroom and may go outside for 20 minutes a day (unless outside time is canceled due to cold weather, or hot weather, or weather in general). DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN THERE. They are, like others have stated, the puppy mill of daycares.

We did a 3 hour painting party and it was the perfect amount of time. All of the girls had a blast, we brought snacks and made mimosas. All of our pictures came out really great, even though i have no art skills at all. It was relaxing but fun at the same time, a perfect day time thing to do before a girls night out. My favorite part about this place is the owners, Brian and Patty. These two are the cutest couple ever and are so happy doing what they love for a living. They are incredibly talented and funny. They are great teachers and a lot of fun to be around. I cant wait to go back and do more classes. We are already waiting for the next event, a couples painting class in September! I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. for 45$ per person you cant go wrong! They provide everything you need, including a good time :)
