I go to The Thirsty Duck every Wednesday with some friends from work and to sing Karaoke. The staff there knows me and always treats me like royalty. If you treat people well, they treat you well. The food is great, the first few times I tried the food, I went with safe things like Fries, Popcorn shrimp etc, which were all excellent. The oil used to cook everything was very fresh because all of my food has always been golden and delicious. I highly recommend the pizza. You go in thinking generic bar pizza but what you get is a real honest to god small town pizzeria fare. Very good. I recommend the All Meat Pizza. It costs $14 and easily feeds two people. (I am a big guy) They have two-fers before 6pm (get there early because their clocks are set a little earlier). Their clientele does tend to skew a bit older, I am in my 30s, The older patrons tend to leave at around 8, except for the regulars and they are all pretty chill. The atmosphere is dark, but it is a bar, not a dance club, not a casino, not a family restaurant. It is a true dive and I love it. I go to Karaoke on Wednesday nights but they have it multiple nights a week, plus live shows from local and sometimes even touring bands. Absolutely horrible establishment. Bartenders are drunk and God forbid you go in this place as a new patron.. They call the police. Tried to speak to management, guess what, they don't have any. Would give negative stars if I could. read more

Love GOP band. Came in just now. Can't rate the food and drink. A group of maybe five 30-50 year old men were sitting next to us. One of them out of the blue starting calling my husband names and threatening to beat him. He wouldn't stop so we just left. I enter dive bars in Wisconsin all the time and have never had this happen. read more

I was under-whelmed by my happy hour visit. The best part was the half price happy hour drinks (M-F 3-6 PM, Sa 11-6 PM, Su all day), although the well drink I received was in a small plastic cup. Entering the bar required a walk past the smokers just outside the front door, while the seating area consisted of several rows of adjacent tables (not my favorite because of reduced privacy) without background music. The service was fairly quick, but rather grumpy. I noticed a pool room with three pool tables, five electronic dart boards, a touch tunes juke box, a casino area and cornhole games outside. I came here on a Wednesday around 6. The outside looks nice so I was optimistic. I was not impressed when I walked in. I don't know what was going on but several tables were reserved. Not a big deal, we found another table in the back. This place was very dark and not welcoming. I had no idea who the servers were nor did I even see them. It smelled weird and the chairs are torn. Maybe we came here on an off night but my group walked in and then right back out. They have about 5-6 dart boards and a small stage set up in the corner. This place has potential and I didn't try any drinks or food so it may be good! We were just not in the mood for that kind of atmosphere and headed elsewhere. One more thing- an older crowd was there. My group was 22-24. Just a little heads up! I hope this helps the next group! read more

No star for u! Place was very unwelcoming & unpleasant to all 6 senses... Yeah, "six" senses. It looked bad, it smelled bad, my hands are sticky from pushing door Open, atmosphere hurt my ears, for some odd reason the air ... That air though! So thick with disgust u can actually taste poop, thx now I know what poop taste like! So my sixth sense told me this was not the spot tonight ... It was dark & creepy, the crowd seemed ancient. The bar staff are awesome. Drinks are strong and not over priced. Ordered food to have delivered and the kids first time ever they ate everything and asked when can we do it again.. steak fries were great and still hot when we got them. Prime rib stacker is the best in town. BiteSquad delivery was fast and on time. read more

Loved the sweet n sassy older woman working behind the bar. Won $130 on a fracking themed slot machine in the back and got a little too trashed listening to a cover band who did "I Want it That Way." Heck yeah this place is cool. read more

My husband and I had visited this bar several times in the afternoon and enjoyed their 2-fers. Last night a friend and I went to eat, drink and check out the band. The service was excellent - our server was prompt and continually checking on our drinks throughout the evening. We ordered off the appetizer menu - the sampler platter, sweet potato fries and fiesta nachos. All of the food tasted great and the price was good. The band started around 9pm - they have bands on Friday and Saturday nights - no cover charge. The band was the Nectorines and they played classic rock - fitting for this bar. This is a great local "dive" bar. There are pool tables and dart boards for those who enjoy that. I just love the overall atmosphere and clientele. It's a blue collar, 30-60 year old crowd who enjoys a place to have good bar food, some drinks and listen to live music. read more

Stopped in here to have a few beers, they have a great and long happy hour. There lunch menu goes until like 3 or 4 and I was not expecting much from a bar, but the food was Amazing, i had the chicken fried steak, with mashed potoes, corn and bun. Very happy with this place and will be frequenlty showing up for their great lunch specials and happy hour. Full meal and 4 tall beers for under 15 bucks, cant beat that any where. read more

ordered a double, got 2 separate drinks and when I pointed out that I just wanted a double they poured them both drinks into one glass and said "same thing"... because of that and the attitude and general slow lazy service did not leave a tip but when got credit card statement there was apparently a hefty tip added... classless thieving dive, but apparently some people like that read more

I give them 1 star because since we are a family going to eat there doesnt mean you shouldn't completely ignore us! Wait staff stared at us when we walked in and didnt even acknowledge us. After waiting for 10 minutes we up and left with absolutely no service and not surprisingly there was only 3 other tables which were getting service. I absolutely do not reccomend this restaurant to anyone who actually wants to have a decent time. read more

First time at a bar in Sioux Falls (typically I've got under 18'ers with me) so I guess I'm not sure what to expect in them. This place was pretty shady on a Thursday night at 10PM - wouldn't want to see it at bar close. Also they didn't serve any food at 10 PM and I had been wanting some greasy food to go with a beer. The prices were great though - Ladies Night 2 for 1 got me 4 beers for $7.25!! read more

I was recently on vacation and went to the thirsty duck as the hotel attendee recommended. It was about 7:30 and it seemed fine. Until... The band started , the band was good but it turned into a rowdy hole in the wall. With rude regular customers, a waitress that when I was her only customer gave me her full attention but as the bar got crowded I could not get her attention. I heard such nice things about people in South Dakota, I was very surprised at how the local / regulars would treat someone from out of state. Very unwelcoming ... And I live in Detroit , where people are always rude!! The bouncer was rude when I asked him a question and I believe they re-use the throw away shot glasses!! Mine was dirty and looked used. I asked a patron to watch my seat as I used the restroom and he was very rude and basically said no! Who does that ?? There is no parking as it is in a strip mall as everything in SD. The food is nothing special either. The locals love it i guess, but if you're from out of town I would vacate by 8 pm before the all the self entitled meat market crowd shows up! While on vacation, I have been to many taverns as I like to mingle with locals . This one is one of the worst experiences I have had . Come to Detroit , apparently we are nicer!!! read more
