For my 25 years of living, there are very few teachers/instructors and mentors I hold to a very…read morehigh regard. My instructor, Dave Herman and my host, Sonny Mayo, is one of those very few competent beyond any standard to deliver and instruct knowledge based off of life experiences and what they have personally been through. Instead of a 18 Hour CCW Class, I walked into a 2 day knowledge transfer that was both very engaging and worth every dollar I have spent. When you sign up for this NYS 18 Hour CCW Class, you are not just getting the technical rundown, live fire and a certificate in end; you are walking into such a wonderful 18 hours of classroom that I would happily take for a whole week again multiple times over. When you leave the classroom you will understand how heavy the burden of such a weapon carries and your moral and legal responsibility of a gun with stories, laughter and real diamonds worth of knowledge. You leave with a smile knowing that the instructor has done his absolute best to deliver not only an instructional class as well as a very entertaining and welcoming environment to be in. My host, Sonny Mayo felt as if I was being cared for by my own family. I loved every second being there and never once did I ever close my eyes during the 16 hour lecture for the two days I was present at this class. The friendliness and overall warm hospitality that was provided by Sonny coupled by Dave's gift of gab ultimately made the class worth every dollar. It really takes a combination of a wonderful mentor, Dave Herman, and wonderful environment provided by Sonny Mayo that ultimately made me feel accomplished and welcomed during my time there. I would happily call them both father in the next life. This is by far the best NYS 18 Hour CCW Class you will ever get for your money in New York City. I absolutely cannot wait to get them again in 3 years for my refresher course for my Concealed Carry License.

I tried two other driving schools. In the first one, the instructors yelled at me when I made mistakes and made me dislike driving. In the second one, the instructor fell asleep in the passenger seat and didn't give me corrections to better my driving. I wasn't sure whether driving instructors with a passion for teaching existed. I feel so lucky to have found John! I enjoyed every lesson with John. He loves to teach driving and gave me the confidence that I needed to pass the test. I passed the road test easily. Mike was really patient with me and encouraged me to drive more confidently, and he was very punctual as well. I had driving lessons and failed a road test with a different school before, so I wanted to take more classes this time around. I even ran over a curb right before the exam because of nerves, but it helped that I made all the mistakes beforehand instead of during the exam. The five hour class was engaging and interesting. I remember some of the tips they told us even now. I found the receptionists and Mike very helpful in accommodating my schedule. I would call them constantly because I had to schedule around work and vacations. I also set a goal to schedule my road test right before my permit expired within 3 months, and they really helped me get the right date for my test. I found Mike's business card today as I was cleaning up and decided to recommend him as driving teacher. I hope he is still teaching there.
