The picturesque gardens and top quality facilities mean that whether you're organising a wedding, corporate function or just staying for a night the high cost is likely to be worth it. The only issue I'd raise is the quality of the staff. Whilst all the senior staff are more than capable, being both jovial and professional, the younger members are obviously hired from local schools thus making the service somewhat inconsistent. Aside from that though, I'd happily shell out for the experience of staying in such a stylish place.

Also had the squid prepared with a spicy sticky asian sauce but to me it appeared as it may have been mostly from a bottle with maybe some fresh scallions through in. The calamari was quite crispy and I like it more chewy, so minus points here. However, the setting cannot be beat with everything completely illuminated with candles. Definitely the place to take a date to impress, however, if the food/value is your idea of a date, be ready to dump it. We were given quite a dark room with the hotel's kitchen extractor fan right outside our window causing a constant drone. Certainly not a place to stay for light sleepers as the walls are paper thin. All of this being said, it was a well priced room and fulfilled its purpose of a comfy bed to sleep off the wedding drinks!

Think I spent just over 16 quid for maybe 5 or 6 pints. Further, they have a pool table in the side room where the locals teach you about 'free play'. Nifty idea sticking those beer coasters into the pockets so you dont need to pay for each game. Its funny because I think the place would have been dead if one had to pay for each game of pool. In either case, I had a really good time here on both occasions and would suggest it to anyone.
