My husband and I had one wish for our reception... and that it was an awesome dance party. We had very particular and nontraditional requests. Cam shared helpful insights based on his past experiences while being incredibly accommodating. Perhaps most importantly, if we asked for something that may have slightly conflicted with his recommendation (e.g. we did not want uplighting) he was not judgmental and totally went with the flow. He even managed to get us a disco ball, per our special request! The result was IMO the best and most unique wedding dance party we could have asked for. If you like old school hip-hop, dance/electronic, and indie pop music (and loathe the chicken dance), we would highly recommend DJ Cam Jamz!! But actually, no matter what your taste in music, we would recommend him... because he cares about his clients and will play whatever they want in order to create the perfect experience for them.

My husband and I spent hours going through their repertoire, listening to quartet versions of the songs on YouTube and carefully selecting what we wanted to hear. We provided the list to the contact person, but our selections were completely ignored. In fact, they didn't even play the song (Air on the G String, pretty standard fare) I had chosen for my bridal party to walk down the aisle to. I don't even know the song they actually played. Every time I hear A on the G String, I'm brought back to that moment and I am annoyed. They played the theme to Super Mario Brothers during my cocktail hour. Cute? Kind of. Not on my list though, and not what I wanted to hear. The played a lot of classical musical. (Also not on my list.) I wanted to hear Stairway to Heaven and Dave Matthews Band, which is why I spent so much money on a string quartet instead of hiring a group of college students. Additionally, after the ceremony they were to go to the reception location and being playing there. When I walked into my cocktail hour, their instruments were sitting by their chairs, but they were not to be seen. I said something to my dad and he mentioned he saw one down at the hotel internet cafe on the computer. What?! Seriously?! My father went down and got him. His response? "Oh, we didn't know we were supposed to play as people were entering." Like I said, my guests loved the quartet, but they didn't pay for something they didn't get. If I could go back, I would save $900 and hire the college students.

Isthmus DJs was the easiest vendor to work with when my husband and I were planning our wedding. Our DJ Tien was a tremendous help throughout the entire process, from providing song check lists during the planning stages, to setting up back lighting for our wedding reception, to the music that was played throughout the night. I have been to many weddings, and there were more people on the dance floor the entire evening than I have EVER seen before. The music selection was an amazing mix of 90s music mixed with today's pop music. We also requested some ethnic music (Bollywood/Hindi and Hmong/Thai music), and Tien was able to accommodate all our requests. Tien played such awesome music that our wedding guests didn't want to leave the party! The uplighting also created the perfect ambience that we were hoping for, and the venue turned out even better than we had imagined. Tien and his team were friendly and professional, and so kind to take song requests from many of our guests. At the end of the night, they were able to quickly pack up and exit the building in time for closing. On another note, we misplaced a few items during the reception, and Tien contacted us early in the morning to let us know that he was in possession of some lost and found items. He was so helpful in every way imaginable. I DEFINITELY recommend Isthmus DJs for any type of event and only hope that I am lucky enough to use their services again in the future.
