Jen is an amazing photographer.  She has the ability to capture the most stunning pictures…read more I found Jen by browsing for photographers online, she only had 2 reviews on yelp but her portfolio was so impressive and her laid back style was exactly what I was looking for. I live in Chicago, but wanted our photos done in Madison. Strictly communicating by email we were able to set up a photo shoot that very week. I thought there was no way we would get a great picture, we have three small children (and a dog!) that are not the easiest to photograph, but she managed to get them in these amazing shots, capturing everyones personalities. She was patient and calm, Jen made it all look and feel so easy. I would highly recommend Jen to anyone.  She is truly a gifted photographer, especially with children. She is extremely creative, flexible, friendly and patient. Our session with her was productive and fun.

In an hour on one peaceful morning, Jen Lucas gave a priceless gift to our family. For years, we…read morelooked for the kind of professional photographer who could really focus her lens on the inside of our daughter's spirit, capturing more than just a smile or eyes on the camera portrait. Our child was immediately drawn to Jen, who is is patient, versatile and not only willing but wanting to collaborate with her young subject. By the time the session was over, my child wanted to be a photographer! Waiting to see those proofs felt like the days before Christmas. Jen produced them with great timeliness and they left us absolutely speechless. Not only is Jen a personable professional in a session setting, she is a serious artist. We're eager to book another session with her.

We wanted a laid-back experience that minimized…read morehow much time we would spend lining up for photos, and Alison took this in stride and was wonderful to work with. She was organized and efficient when it was time for the family photos, and she has a great eye for how to arrange beautiful shots. During the ceremony and reception she knew just where to be to get the best pictures, so she was really able to capture the whole day. Throughout all of this, Alison was easy to plan with and work with. She has a great interface for the final results, and we are very happy with the pictures. I would highly recommend Alison if you are looking for a photographer for your event!

She asked us for our preferences in date, time, and location. She was flexible and accommodated our requests for multiple outfit changes and locations for the photo shoot. She also provided suggestions as to the type of locations. During the photo shoot, she greeted us with a smile and friendly personality that helped us feel at ease and comfortable because we were nervous about taking our engagement photos. Her sunny disposition made the experience light and fun. Throughout the session, she helped us enjoy the experience and funny moments. She directed us in various poses that felt natural and effortless, and she was also open to our suggestions. Her patience also helped us calm down and tamper our anxiety. She never rushed us and was patient even though there were a lot of visitors walking in the area. The photos were available at the time they were promised to be ready. The photos turned out great! We were happy with the results and were amazed that no stranger(s) were caught in the background of our photos. We used the photos to announce our engagement and received plenty of positive feedback. We highly recommend Alison and her services. It was pleasure meeting and working with her.

We used Kyla as our wedding photographer and I really can't recommend her highly enough. The price…read moreshe offered us was about half what we would have paid the premium creme-de-la-creme of Wisconsin wedding photographers, and I really believe we got top-notch service from start to finish, including the most important part -- breathtakingly gorgeous pictures. We had Kyla for 10 hours, which is a very long day (the max that I have seen for wedding photographers) and she gave it her all from beginning to end. We got the getting-ready shots, first meeting between bride and groom, pictures on location before the wedding, pictures at the ceremony, another location after the ceremony, and the reception. I had a fairly specific idea in my head of how I wanted the day to unfold and where we wanted pictures taken, but Kyla actually suggested some locations we hadn't thought of that turned out to be fantastic. I was impressed by how she kept things moving so we didn't end up missing our entire reception while we were taking pictures. Kyla really captured so many special moments throughout the day. We have the requisite photos with family and bridal party, but so many more lovely candid moments as well. We received all of the high-resolution original images promptly (about 4 weeks later) on a CD, with many different "takes" (color, B&W, sepia, horizontal, vertical, etc.) on each scene. Kyla was very responsive helping me get a higher-resolution version of an image we wanted to print at a large size. She was very pleasant to work with -- not a prima donna as some photographers can be. I really can't imagine getting better service at any price. We were absolutely thrilled with Kyla's work and would recommend her to anyone.

I attended a wedding at Selmer + Stone and had a good time!…read more There was a big green space surrounded by corn fields for an open ceremony, as well as an adjacent area for dancing and for dinner. Both areas comfortably fit about 120 people. There was a barn house that the bridal and groom parties got ready in, and I think converted into another room for snacks/another area for events. The fairy lights were cute and other lights were bright enough for a party. No issues with AV throughout the night. Lots of space for parking, although the stone roads may be challenging for elderly to navigate. The bathrooms were more straightforward stalls on the other side but was clean/got the job done. Staff were nice and polite.

They did a great job of taking photos of everyone in our wedding, from our toddler niece to my wife's grandparents. They were patient, unobtrusive, taking photos of what happened not staging action shots. (They also took portrait shots of the wedding party and family.) My bride and I looked them over online, we both liked what we saw, we made an appointment and met with Ronnie to go over our options and to see if we wanted them to shoot our wedding. She explained what will be included, she took her time answered all of our questions, very friendly, relaxed, and down to earth. Their wedding packages are not free, nor are they cheap, but well priced compared to what other top studios charge. They arrived at our wedding, took great photos, had a good time, engaged with the guests but didn't interfere. They are a very real and down to earth couple, they are great if you want someone to take professional quality photos of your wedding as it happens, as well as taking beautiful portrait shots. They were professionally behaved, smiled, had fun, didn't take anything away from the ceremony or the party. They took pictures, did a great job, and I can't say how pleased my wife and I both are with them and their work. I am needing a new head shot and I am making an appointment for our next trip back to Wisconsin.

Owner/photographer Hillary Schave responded to our inquiry right away, suggesting we meet at her studio to discuss our plans. We already loved Hillary's body of work, so it was great to find out she's also super friendly!
