They said that both flues needed to be relined because they couldn't do 1 without the other vein collateral damage. Quote was $15,000. For that money, I got a second opinion. There is nothing wrong with the chimney. No relining needs to be done. And the second sweep showed us where the Firesafe person had left debris in the stove and vent. I work for a handyman service and my boss is looking into having Matt give us a quote on some of our jobs. We have had numerous friends/people say how awesome the roof looks. (No disrespect to any other Masonary, I learned this is a busy season) Eric listened to my frantic rant about my chimney & asked to see some pics of the damage. After I sent them he said he would come by for a closer look ASAP & he did. He told me he would try to fit me in, & he kept his word: Within a couple of days, Eric was repairing my chimney with his crew member Sammy. They fixed issue, after issue after issue. My chimney had a lot of them. They went above & beyond & they paid attention to every detail. I am not family. I just met Eric & Sammy today. The last review must have been talking about another Eric. I found him to be transparent, extremely knowledgable & humble. I am very picky about who I hire & I am very pleased & impressed with the work they did. I have added some before & after pictures. Lastly, I sent out a lot of pictures of my chimney, but Eric had one of the lowest bids, it was very fair. Neither one of them asked me to write this review. I wanted to, because I am very grateful to the both of them. True professionals with a very strong work ethic.

Erwin is absolutely amazing. We have a small house with a single chimney. After our chimney cap…read moreblew off in a storm, we discovered that our chimney was unlined (not good!) and I found Erwin through Angie's List. He installed a chimney liner and replaced the cap at a price that was lower than I expected, he was absolutely meticulous about keeping everything clean, and he was incredibly patient about answering all my questions. I'm a first time homeowner who's never had a chimney before - he really helped educate me and I appreciated that. Here's the really amazing part, though: after he installed the chimney liner and cap, about a week later, one of our three carbon monoxide detectors went off. It was an old one and even though I knew it was probably just malfunctioning because the other two showed no danger, I was nervous and since we'd just had chimney work done I wanted to make sure there was no issue with gas venting into the house. So I called Erwin and explained my issue. He happened to be in the area so he came over immediately. He checked everything, verified the chimney was drawing in air properly (and even showed me the trick for how to check it myself using a match) and gave me the peace of mind of knowing that nothing was wrong. He didn't even charge me for coming over the second time. A truly nice man who cares about people and knows what he's doing.
