Today however, they shined especially bright by assisting us in our hour of need. My daughter had a rough fall at daycare and was in need of help fast- from start to finish the entire team made themselves available and were ready to come to our assistance. Not only was Johana at the front desk reassuring and calm, she was kind enough to fit us in unexpectedly and assured me even when I was unable to locate our updated insurance card at first that we would get everything figured out. I am so grateful for the kindness shown to my daughter (and please forgive me for not catching your name) but the kindest assistant helped calm my daughter down by coloring with her, providing her with a toy and keeping her uplifted and distracted while I spoke with Dr. Kim about options. Even though we were squeezed into the schedule the entire team made us feel welcome, cared for and as a priority. Dr. Kim showed extra care by sharing all of our options and performing a flawless procedure for my little one. I cannot over state how deeply caring this entire team is, truly wonderful people who enjoy what they do, do it well, and excel in working with kids. Anyone can be nice or polite, but the staff at My Dentist and Me are truly thoughtful and compassionate individuals, and that makes the biggest impact! Our community is beyond lucky to have them!

After waiting over two months for an appointment, I brought my daughter Ciara to Dr. Rick Nichols Just for Kids Pediatric Dentistry today. This was supposed to be her first visit. This morning, I received a call from their office asking me to complete two new patient forms. I filled both out online immediately. We then headed to the appointment but ran into unexpected stopped traffic. Wanting to be responsible and respectful of their time, I called the office as soon as we got on the freeway to let them know we might be cutting it close. I was told there was a 10-minute grace period. We arrived within that window. Here's where things went sideways: Despite submitting both forms back-to-back, they claimed they only received one. This seemed highly unlikely given how their system is set up. Instead of helping resolve the issue, I was met with unnecessary rudeness from the front desk staff (I was given two different names: Melody or Isabel), who told me to "hurry up" and re-do the form or risk losing the appointment. I was already doing everything I could, and yet I was treated like I was the problem. Shortly after, I was told that the dentist had decided he would not see Ciara and that we would need to reschedule. No apology. No ownership. No attempt to accommodate or understand. Just a dismissive brush-off. I had already followed all instructions, provided insurance months ago, confirmed the appointment repeatedly, and communicated in real time when we hit traffic. To be dismissed like this, especially in a pediatric setting, is incredibly disappointing. To Dr. Nichols: If you're unaware of how your staff is treating new patients and families, I hope you'll take this as an opportunity to investigate and address it. Your practice came highly recommended by several people we trust (and you know personally outside your practice), and we were genuinely looking forward to this visit. Sadly, our experience was anything but welcoming or acceptable. And to the staff involved: In a family-focused practice, basic kindness and professionalism should not be optional. I will gladly drive farther for a provider who values their patients and not simply a mill pumping out patients.

(So I set up the appointments) Long story short I went to another dentist that I go to in LA for a second opinion. They also did her exam, teeth cleaning and X-rays and she had No cavities! Then she also got them checked at her schools mobile dentistry which also did X-rays, no cavities!!! Be very VERY CAUTIOUS About this dentistry's shady business practices. As we checked in she even asked us if we would like her nick name put in their system so the doctor would know which was the best way to greet her. The waiting room was very kid friendly and color vibrant. My daughter loved watching her some Tom and Jerry. Her first cleaning and exam went great as well. Her dentist and hygienist were super nice. In the exam room they have a TV on the ceiling so when the kids are getting their teeth worked on they could watch Netflix in the mean time. The office itself was really clean and afterwards they have a giant gumball machine which is filled with toys. They put a coin in and let me daughter have a toy for being so great on her first visit. They are always friendly and the most understanding people you could have for a dental office. My children love brushing their teeth and are even excited to go to the dentist thanks to the staff here. It helps that their theme is fun and you get a treasure at the end of the appointment, but the staff is the main reason. Even my 3 year old is able to sit still for the entire appointment which is a shock to me! I have no complaints aside from the fact that they're an hour away from us.

When I returned, I was told the fillings were done incorrectly and that they needed to be redone. That was extremely frustrating, but again, I trusted them. Fast forward about a year later -- I once again went in with no tooth pain, and once again I was told I had cavities that needed to be filled. After those fillings, I am now back in pain again, repeating the exact same cycle. It's concerning to me that I repeatedly come in without pain and leave with ongoing dental issues. At this point, I've lost confidence in the quality of care and the accuracy of their diagnoses. Dental work is expensive, invasive, and not something patients should have to redo due to mistakes. I would not recommend this office based on my experience.

We brought her back, but the original doctor who did the fillings is no longer with the office. The doctor who saw her afterward mentioned that the filling may have been done too deep. Now we're being told she needs a root canal because of this. I've brought her in multiple times trying to resolve the issue, but it still hasn't been addressed, to be honest, I'm concerned that something may have been done incorrectly during the initial treatment, I don't recommend this office.
