The Sunshine House is hidden up on a hill on Paper Mill Road, literally within blocks of 2 other daycare/preschools. I tried one of them and I am so sad that I wasted a month of my son's life there. The Sunshine house is great! Jennifer, who runs the place remembers the kids' names and always has a smile and a second to talk to parents at drop off or pickup. The classrooms are kid wonderland, with tons of stuff to look at. They place a premium on structured learning, lining up, circle time, and respect and listening. My son's teacher exudes authority (not a sharp kind, but a mothering, trusting kind) and he is talking about her and his lessons well into the afternoon everyday. I really like The Sunshine House and urge you to take a tour in you're interested. read more

Very nice staff and great environment for your kids! They are very organized and try to keep the place as clean as possible. They have different times for pre-K classes, which is super convenient. They also send reports with photos about kids activities every day. Our daughter is very shy and a picky eater, so it's nice to see that she is eating and interacting with other kids. I am extremely disappointed and saddened by the treatment of my three year old son in Ms.Sherlin's class. There is no positive behavior management system in place and the only communication that I receive about my child is in the form of negative notes. My child's day is characterized as bad even after he calms down and apologizes. The assistant even said that he did not deserve a Christmas in front of other children! He has started to identify as "bad". Ms. Dailey has done very little to support my son or help Ms. Sherlin implement strategies to manage his outbursts. My son does has trouble managing his emotions; however, social emotional development should be a part of the curriculum and it is not. I am removing my child and would caution anyone to be very careful before entrusting your child to this center. read more

Mostly Very bad teachers and staff in preK. They genuinely dnt care about kids feelings. The cook makes horrible food and even the teachers admit its not tasty food. On the top of that I was even billed after my child finished preK. Even after continuous requests they still dint refund my money. read more

I was surprised to read so many negative reviews about Sunshine House on Paper Mill Road. I love the family atmosphere and feel very comfortable leaving my son there when I need to go to work. My son has been there for just over a year; he's thriving and loves it! I couldn't be happier leaving him in the care of his Explorer Room teacher - or any of the teachers - they all know his name! Yes, there were a couple of changes with his teachers in this room, but with each transition the move was handled professionally and considerately. I appreciate the Director trying to find a perfect fit in the class! Our family is looking forward to another great year with Sunshine House on Paper Mill Road. read more

the only reason i am giving this place 2 stars is because of some of the wonderful teachers that work at this location despite the non-caring director that runs this facility. i enrolled my son for the first time after he turned one and that didn't last longer than 3 months. during that stay he sustained a very large knot on his head from hitting his head on a table, I worked within walking distance of the daycare, i did not receive a call for 45 mins. upon arrival and seeing the huge knot and dark bruise on my son's forehead I was greeted with "It looked a lot worse 30 mins ago" while another 1 year old was holding an ice pack on his head. so i took him out that day. I enrolled him later on after he turned 2 as i had no choice to keep him home any longer. while in Mrs.Kesia's class, he flourished and learned so much from her. i cannot day enough great things...if I could keep her with him through college, I most certainly would. however, when he moved into the 3 year old class with Mrs. Sherlyn...we started to go backwards with potty training and i would get a bag of underwear with the poop wrapped up in his underwear, or they would just throw them away period. he also went backwards with learning his alphabet, numbers, etc...all things he knew prior to leaving Kesia's classroom. I eventually had issues with this classroom and when brought to the directors attention, was pushed aside. Brought it to the regional directors attention, things changed for about 2 weeks before going right back to where they were. At this point, I had given up. Thankfully there were enough teachers there that cared about my son and looked after him well enough until I recently placed him in a daycare closer to my home & he has been loving it there so far. so as for a place to take your kid, I definitely do not recommend the sunshine house on paper mill rd. There are 3 daycares within walking distance of this one that are all priced around the same and probably have better direction and will give you more peace of mind about your child's well being. read more

I am so glad that I found The Sunshine House. I usually do not use chain daycare. However, this is an exception. After moving from Florida and my dream daycare, I was disappointed in the options I first found in East Cobb. While The Sunshine House does not offer full language immersion as I would prefer, the offer something much better and irreplaceable, love and lots of attention for my boys, gentle discipline and a great learning environment. Jennifer and Liz, the director and asst. director are very involved with the children and always willing to listen or assist to resolve a situation. read more

I like my daughters teacher. There seems to be a lack of communication between staff and parents. I was very taken back when I approached the director about the lack of communication, her response was "Girl, you know somebody told you". Really, you say girl, who refers to another adult that way? I am in my 30's. And no, nobody communicated with me and it wasn't the first time. I would never respond in that manner to one of my patients or clients. Her response made me think there is lack of communication because they may not know how to communicate based upon how she spoke to me. The school is a little less expensive then a lot of others in the area....I think you get what you pay for. My overall feeling is that it works for now but I wouldn't recommend long term. A few months back I had to pick my daughter up early because she was vomiting. I get in the car with her and she smells of vomit I realize they didn't change her clothes after she vomited, (and she had extra clothes) that was when I first started paying a little more attention to how they were doing things. There are a few other things but I don't want to say too many negative things just wanted to share a few points I would want someone to share with me. read more

What a wonderful school! As a first time mom it was hard dropping my 8 week old off in the care of strangers for the first time but Ms.Jessica and Ms. Bri made sure that he was safe and cared for throughout the day and put my mind at ease each time I called. He is now about to move into the next classroom and they have made sure that not only my son but my husband and I will be ready for the big step into the toddler class. The management team, Ms. Jennifer and Ms. Liz, ensure that the parents are aware of happenings in the school whether it be fun activities or illness. I cannot imagine my little one at any other school. read more

My son has been at The Sunshine House since he was an infant. He is in the toddler's program now. I can't say enough good things about the way my son is treated, about the teachers, and the staff! Ms. Dailey, the director, is always calm and warm. My son has a very special bond with his teachers (Ms. Kendra, in the toddler program, and Ms. Poonam from his infant classroom). Other teachers have gone out of their way to make my son feel special and loved - especially Ms. Angela from the Pre-k classroom. Everyone knows my baby's name and greets him when he walks in the door every day. They have worked with us closely (especially Ms. Kendra) when he was an infant and transitioning from milk to solids, with constantly changing nutritional needs. They also helped us so much with stabilizing my son's nap schedule, which I will always be grateful for. :-) We love this daycare, and appreciate them so much! read more

i m really happy with this school n its staff. my son learned a lot here in his pre-k class in d supervision of miss lidia n ms leekha. he is just fan of ms leekha, she is very kind n helping. he never want to take any holiday even on weekends he ask to go to school. both d teachers r v good n do their best with kids. i like center head as she is v nice all d time. best of luck guys!!! read more
