There is some history to this place and you can tell two things: 1) It is family owned and they are taking good care of the place, and 2) the interior decoration is outstanding and they family put a lot of effort into getting it to where it is. Overall, the place is very quiet, peaceful, and a great place to relax. *SAUNAS* Their saunas met the mark with a high margin. The hot sauna is hot! The infrared sauna makes you sweat! The low heat sauna is great for relaxing! The water pool - cold! The steam room - great for skin cleansing and relaxing. They were all kept very clean! *ETIQUETTE* No clothes of any kind allowed in the saunas. Place your towel under you to cover your full body and to capture your sweat. Saunas and dressing room are co-ed, in fact the entire place is co-ed. Behave respectfully and politely. Ask the staff for any clarification, as they were super polite, helpful, and kind. They flat out refuse to refill my soap bottles because there might still be a little bit of mint scent left. "So what?" I say, it's my soap bottle and I don't care if the refill still smells a little like mint. "We don't do that" is the reply I get. W. T. F? And then, in the middle of all this, some friends of the lady working there walk in, so she abruptly stops talking to me, and instead starts talking with her friends. Terrible customer service. Terrible policies. Terrible people working there. They fail at the one thing they promise to do: give you refillable soap. If I could give this place a minus rating, I would.

I went in originally to continue IPL (permanent hair removal) because lets face it, I've completely succombed to societal norms for women and now prefer to keep my legs, etc on the smoother side. The thing is, I'm lazy as shit when it comes to shaving and too much of a puss for waxing so IPL was my best solution. In addition to IPL, they offer so many other services, one of which I've taken advantage of - EYEBROWS! I've been looking for a 'threading' location in Amsterdam for a year and a half. When discussing the IPL, the woman across from me had the most gorgeous eyebrows I had to ask her 1) where she threaded them 2) Where could I go to get brows that awesome. Conveniently, her response was to just point to herself! She doesn't thread but I am a converted plucker now - she does a brilliant job. In closing, Zonnestudio is a Gem in Amsterdam's myriad of beauty options. The staff at Zonnestudio were willing to negotiate a deal as I wanted multiple areas addressed and agreed to pay for 4 sessions all at once - Awesome. Additionally, the lovely lady performing the 'hair demolition' as I like to call it is great!! So chatty while being professional and she makes you feel very comfortable in even the most awakward of positions... Go check them out, especially if you are going through threading withdraw!
