I have always had great results in the past, with other bakeries when giving a description of the theme and colors and giving "bakers choice" on the detail of the decor....that was not the case here!!! After receiving the cake, my first thought was, they were clearly busy and saw this as an opportunity to get a "quick one" out of the way. clearly time was a factor. I highly recommend giving detailed instructions with decor here. I also ordered 2 cup-cake flavors and only one was correct. but let me tell you, when I bit into the cupcake, delicious! My parents are insanely huge fans. While I've never "been inside" I've eaten PLENTY to provide a review. But before that, I'll tell you about the service and atmosphere. My parents love being inside, and are friends with the employees at this point. They're always going whenever they can. Always using them for dessert options. Always telling people about them. Now for the food, and I've tried a plethora. First, cookies. They have that coveted (to me) sturdy yet not crunchy cookie, and their frosting isn't "too sweet" for me. (I'm not a huge dessert guy.) Cupcakes are next, and they're good from what I can remember. But we get way more cookies. Again, they have the cake part figured out the way I like it. Add on the frosting still not being "too sweet" like I like it. Also, it's called Sugar Pearl and they won't let you forget it. Their desserts have "pearls" made of sugar on them. Hard, but tasty. (So be prepared to eat them.) Overall, this is a local staple for my family and friends. Hands down the best desserts, employees that are friends, and a REALLY nice shop! read more

On our way up north on I-5, We decided we better find a birthday cake before we hit the campground. The Sugar Pearl was 12 minutes away in Longview so we took the detour. It's located in a big wonderfully restored period Building called the Merk. Along with many other small local independent businesses. There's a lot to explore in here including an herb shop in a barbershop in an optician and a chocolate store so it's worth your time to come check it all out. The cupcakes are two dollars apiece and there's a wide variety of them. They also have bars and pies and wonderfully decorated cakes for all occasions. And of course the customer service is flawless. What about the cupcakes? We got three (vanilla, chocolate, & special of the day- banana cream!) and they're all gone. You should come by and check them out yourself! read more

There have been more than a handful of times I have went to get macaroons from her and they have been hard as a rock. This last time I went in and since I go there so much to support her small business, her assistant knows me. She told me she could fill some macaroon shells with maple filling for me. I watched her take out a huge storage bin full of macaroon shells, take some shells out and fill them. I asked if they were fresh and I was assured they were. Those things were rock hard when I ate one that night, not only were they hard, but the taste was completely off on them. As I normally do, I messaged her and I let her know that she probably should not sell those because they are rockhard. all she said was, "okay thank you," and no I didn't want my money back, I wanted macaroons that were not rockhard, but she didn't offer that. For $30 a dozen, they should be absolutely perfect. I have said it once and I will say it again, I have confronted her many times. She claims her stuff is fresh daily, but if it was fresh, it wouldn't be crumbly and hard. I am not the only one who has said negative things, it's very easy to google the bakery and see the negative reviews on other platforms. The owner should be taste testing things before she is putting them on the shelves. I am not saying she is a bad baker, I am saying that her stuff is not fresh like she claims and she should be taste testing. As the owner of a food establishment, you should be able to take the negative and turn it into positive. The ONLY good thing about this place at this point is her wonderful assistant. I posted this same review in a local food group and her best friend, Andie LaNora Gray, has been harassing me since, I had to block her. How immature of an owner to send her best friend to harass me over a review. The owner sends her friends to write fake reviews so it will boost her rating. read more

Went here to get an anniversary cake for my wife and I. We were pleasantly surprised at the decor of the bakery, smells of sweets and is very... I'd almost say posh in decor. The cake itself had real bananas in it, and was tremendously moist in consistency. The filling was pure nutella, no filler added to dilute the flavor. The cake looked amazing and was covered in edible glitter. The frosting killed my sweet tooth! If you are in need of something custom made with extreme care and devotion then look no further. Ordered and prepaid ahead for an event, when we arrived for pick up our items weren't ready and they lost the order. They put together items for us however it wasn't fully what we expected. The macarons are mediocre; the meringue had good texture but they are too large to eat without it breaking apart making a mess. The filling is made from left over cupcake frosting rather than a traditional macaron style filling. It's more like a cookie sandwich than a macaron. Also if you pay cash don't expect an actual receipt. It was hand written on a piece of scrap paper which doesn't work real well when submitting for reimbursement read more

This review is on the cupcakes. It's hit or miss anymore. Sometimes the cupcakes are dry and flat , or we suspect, day old. Our office staff is beginning to not want them like they used to. Would be nice if they had the older ones in a separate section, with 50% off, as many bakeries will do. We could choose more wisely then. It could also be that they are baked the same day, but the quality control isn't what it used to be. We aren't sure, but there are issues for sure with the cupcakes. read more

If you are thinking of getting a custom cake GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! The owner let my husband pay 150$ for a terrible looking/tasting cake. He asked for a corona bottle on the beach and as you can see from the pictures he got some weird crappy jug thing. I had also prepaid for a gender reveal cake for 120$ but after seeing this, I wanted to cancel. The owner offered no apology or refund for the cake my husband bought but only said she would refund and cancel my next order. That was August 21st, I have yet to see a refund. I'd be better off going to Walmart. JUST DONT GO HERE. Terrible customer service, Terrible product. read more

Very disappointed. I can bake, but I wanted these cupcakes to be extra special with festive decorations. What I got was flavorless, dry, hockeypucks with and inch and-a-half of sickeningly sweet frosting and not a candy sprinkle in sight. Most of them went in the trash. I am embarrassed to have served these. Next time I'll make my own. If you don't bake, don't worry, any box mix would be better than this overpriced land fill. read more

Their cupcakes were small and with little flavor. I was really disappointed, I ordered 90 and had them for a large gathering. We paid a lot for a very embarrassing product.
