I went to them for a selection of music for church (violin, piano, cello) and they had an excellent selection and knowledgeable staff.

I recently came into possession of an old violin that had spent over four decades unused and broken.

While I waited for someone to get freed up, a parent and child came in. When the second associate was done with whatever he was doing, he immediately goes to the people who came in after me and asked if he could help them. What? I'm standing right here in the middle of an open room, ten feet from you! Then I bought a mouthpiece for my sax, after explaining that I had nothing for my sax currently. He was happy to sell me a mouthpiece and some (overpriced) reeds, but failed to mention that not all mouthpieces come with a ligature, the piece the HOLDS THE REED ON. So I get home, open the box and WTF? no ligature? Would've been nice if he said something like "Do you need a ligature with that?" So I went up to Sam Ash, got a ligature and mouthpiece cover, had a great time with the extremely helpful salesman there. Go there for your band needs, not this place.

Bottom line - it's fortunate for any community to still have a store which sells musical…read moreinstruments, sheet music, accessories and offers lessons with gifted music teachers - Sure, they don't have everything, but what they do have is the owner Steve who seems willing to take the time to help both the young music student (and their parents,) along with the accomplished performer. Tucked away in the Regency Shopping Center at Euclid and Quentin - the store has been there a long time - it's a good place to find what you need to keep in tune.

Music lessons on most instruments and voice lessons. Restrung and fixed neck of my guitar so easier to play in my 70s with my arthritic fingers. Very honest. Talked me into fixing my guitar rather than buying a new one! Great store! A real gem in the Northwest suburbs! Remember to turn into road off of Barrington road and turn into commons parking lot to gain access to store. Visit for all your music needs or to learn to play a new instrument! Truly, Liza Johnson

Before COVID, they would host free open mics for students to show off their favorite songs, with complementary snacks and drinks. While that has stopped, they continue their Rockstar program, where kids can sign up and play in a rock band with their peers. I've attended and played in these concerts, and they're so much fun! They even have a new adult Rockstar band! The students are nice, the staff are knowledgeable, and the manager Jeff is very thorough with explanations. Only way they could improve is with more seating in the waiting area, but I believe Jeff has tried to remedy this with a futon sort of thing in the middle.

Aso a Great Music School for Adults!…read more I started taking voice lessons from Jennifer about two years ago. Although I had some music background, I really didn't know anything about singing and she patiently brought me from not knowing chest voice and head voice to being able to confidently sing throughout my entire range. There were times I really struggled with understanding singing and Jennifer was always patient and encouraging. And I get to spend some time each lesson working on singing any song I'd like to work on. That's fun! I play keyboards and guitar in some local bands, and sing backup, and I've gotten a lot of feedback about how much my singing has improved since I started taking lessons from Jennifer. I feel like my lessons with her are my secret weapon for getting really good at singing! I thought that music schools were mainly geared towards children, but the quality of instruction was way more than adequate for learning voice as an adult and helping me with the singing I currently do professionally. I definitely recommend the Schaumburg School of Music in general, and Jennifer in particular, to anyone who wants to learn an instrument or learn or develop their singing voice. Even people who already sing professionally!

Called and talked to Marjorie and she had the audacity to ask me if I'm looking for a free class? No I'm looking for a class I already paid for. Seems like in this place the rules change based on who you're talking to and could be different from one person to another. Just a horrible experience all together. We we looking to purchase more classes for our daughter but based on how Marjorie handled this situation we will take our business somewhere else.
