Some used paperbacks were $2.75!! The lady working was very helpful and kind. She was knowledgeable about books we were looking for and didn't mind scouring the shelves to help us find them. We love about 6 hours away but if we are ever in the area, we will be back!!

Then said yes I think we might have that book. She asked the gentleman at the check out area - and he seemed upset - said we don't carry any books by that author. It seemed like there is sone huge censorship or dislike for certain authors at this store. It made me feel very uncomfortable. The other side of the store is now selling honey, oils , different teas etc. My son tried the whipped honey and fell in love with it, and I bought a bottle of thar honey. Overall, I think it's a decent book store but you might not find certain authors, not sure what basis they are doing different censorship.

Low Yo Yo is a brief walk away from the historic 40 Watt Club and near plenty of dining and drinking choices. While a relatively small store, it's packed wall to wall with a lot of records! I was particularly impressed by the great selection of catalogue titles they have--I always have a running list of records I'm looking for and often these are not present in my local shops. Many, if not most, of what I looked for WAS present here. Often a new title, shrinkwrapped and priced accordingly--but fairly/within market range. They did have some original pressings and used items, but overall their used items seem to be vastly outranked by their new items. However, I can't quite be sure of that as beyond the row of newly arrived used items all others are filed with their new counterparts. I like the overall organization of this store--by genre, by artist, and often within an artist's section all of the solo and sideprojects of a group are present and accounted for. There's also a pretty sweet local artists section (including REM) near the register. Friendly service, cool shop, would definitely make this a regular stop if I lived in the area.

Overall the layout makes sense and it's easier for me to bring the kids here than pay full price at B&N down the street and the experience is pretty comparable. I also like that you can call them and ask that they hold a book for you- great for Moms running low on time who need to get a book for their kids school project or required reading (speaking from experience here). The only con I will mention is what others have mentioned as well. Don't come here with books to sell assuming you'll get a lot of money for them. Come here with the books you were going to donate anyways. I do wish they had a better trade in program.
