Everything was booked and paid for and even had an email the day before the move to clarify what time the boys were going to be there. On the morning of the move I received a call from Danny first of all saying he didn't have enough men to do the move, then he said he had only one man and will be there to do the move by 12.30pm. I rang Danny at 12.15 to clarify the driver was on his way, he said 'no he won't be able to get to me until 2.30pm'. I wasn't too impressed as the day was getting and in the last move (with exactly the same items) we were done by then. I rang up at 2.30pm as the driver still hadn't arrived only for Danny to tell me the driver's van was being held in a compound and had been all day. I asked Danny if we could arrange a refund as they hadn't turned up and he he said he couldn't give me the money as he didn't have any in his business account. I told him I would like my money back and he said he would have to give it to me from his personal bank account and it would have to be paid back in stages but would be within a fortnight. He said he was waiting to be paid for 'another job' before he had any money. A fortnight had gone by, no sign of any refund. I rang Danny again and he said he couldn't give me my refund as he had no money and had to put his vans up for auction. I explained once he had sold his vans I wanted my money back. He laughed and said that I didn't understand that the money he was getting from the vans was being used to pay off other loans he had. Absolutely disgusting service. I tried to phone customer services-no such thing as it just puts you through to the Teeside depot who did start off helpful saying they would email and phone Danny, but then once they received no response from him they said it was nothing to do with them and I'd just have to wait for him to get in touch with me to sort. This all started in June, we are now in September and still nothing from Danny. Can't stress enough how appalling and heartbreaking this has been for me and my son.

I thought the price for the initial removal was so reasonable and any disassembly and reassemble was only done if really needed. Danny who sorted my removal was very helpful and friendly and gave good advice because of it being my first move. The move was done efficiently and with no damage. Good company xxx keep going Danny!

Originally, she lives in Nepal and needed a space to store her belongings before she could move her things into her new house in Leeds. After enquiring with a few companies, she decided to go with Ready Steady Store. When we arrived, the staff were very helpful and offered extra information to us regarding their services, some to even save her a bit of money. The storage period went smoothly and so did the collection of her things. Highly recommended.

If you are in need of somewhere to keep belongings you don't want to get rid of, but have no room…read morefor (for whatever circumstance), self storage is a great way of acheiving this. My one drawback with Ready Steady Store is that I was swamped with so many deals (which are fantastic if you only need your storage box for a couple of months and no more), I had no idea how much I should have been paying! It is now £81 a month. I am considering moving everything as soon as possible, but I have to say that having my box for the past 6 months has been a life save! The two men in the office are ridiculously well versed in their terms and conditions, as well as having a sense of humour and being very helpful. You can rent anything from a box the size of a small locker to the size of a football pitch. When I first went, I was warned that the appearance of the halls and halls of doors to boxes is the closest thing you'll see to prison, without being locked up! Upon closer inspection, I think I agree! With eerie tinny radio pumping out, echoing around the eerily quiet corridors, I would recommend taking a friend when you go! They are open very early in the morning, all the way into the night, meaning that you are able to access your belongings easily, at some fairly unsociable hours, without worrying about your safety when most people are in bed! If you're a student in need of summer storage, this is ideal as there are available discounts. As for everyone else, it is a good way of saving space, and very good if you find yourself moving around a lot.

To be honest, I've not much experience in storage, as I would expect most people don't. However,…read morehaving moved house (in December, no less), it became apparent I'd have to get somewhere to safely store excess things. I did a cursory bit of research on the old lappy toppy, and got quotes from these chaps as well as Squirrel. (Since both would email the quote.) It turned out that almost as soon as I put in a request for some intel, that a lady rang me -I almost got worried. I hate being hassled, and the idea of storage itself felt a hassle, but bear with me. As it happens, the lady on the phone was great. She gave me all the info, based on what I was storing, and basically gave me plenty of breathing room to make a decision. I knew all the essentials, and was left with those to ponder for a day or two. I half expected another sales call come the day I needed the things out of the house, but no such call came, which to me was really great-who likes a hard sell these days? Not me. I called them up, and your man was as awesome as you'd like. He checked my order, processed it swiftly, and I quickly asked (on the off chance) if he had anyone that might be able to help me out packing and transporting the many things I had. In a flash he called up another chap, who they regularly work with and recommend, had us both on the phone at the same time and liaised the whole removal for me-and all for but £50. This was truly fantastic! Couldn't believe how above and beyond he would go for a brand new customer. Anyhow, the removal boys arrived, helped me pack all the bits up quickly, and even drove me to Safestore, where it was all sorted in a timely fashion. I honestly couldn't have managed it all via taxi, and feel that I've been given a really great price. Brilliant! Highly recommend, whether it's temporary or long term storage, these guys are a pro organisation.
