As I have matured and reflected on my experience at Pinchbeck elementary, I feel like I can now adequately speak on my time there. Starting off with some of the negative things is the lack of diversity. I was the only south Asian I can remember in my entire grade and the school consisted of mostly Caucasian students. This is something that at the time I did not think affected me, but looking back, I can remember all the casual racist comments other children would make towards me that have stuck with me throughout my teenage years. While I was there, the school also had a "no homework policy." They claimed this allowed for students to spend their time at home more creatively but I can almost guarantee that if any of these children were like me, they spent that time watching tv. The no homework policy proved to be a curse as when I entered middle school, I found it difficult to adapt to the workload, however, the school had excellent teachers who I remember genuinely caring about their students. I truly felt like they believed in me and were pushing me to be better.

The teachers genuinely care about him - they delight in his achievements and milestones, they keep me in the loop about all of the moments I have to miss while at work, and they treat him with individualized care. Jenny and Tori are flexible and accommodative and are regularly involved with the kids - these are not administrators who simply sit at a desk all day. They know every child and every parent and are in tune with the needs of each family. The communication is excellent - I always know what's happening in the school, in the classroom, and in my son's day. Heather, Nichole, Wanda, Nicole, Megan, and all of the teachers are so amazing - there has never been a day that I have worried at all about leaving my precious boy in the care of these extraordinary women.

Needless to say, leaving her the first day was hard...for me....she pushed me out the door because she INSTANTLY loved it. The teachers and directors know all the student's names which gives you that family feeling and a great sense of security. I recommend everyone to take their children to this location.
