By the time we hit town, decided sharing a pot of hot tea after a fairly easy 10 mile hike was the thing to do to end the day, so that with a shared scone accompanied by butter and marmalade was just fine, indeed. Holy cats this place is busting with business. Not a seat inside, but luckily we grabbed a table for two outside--likely saving the folks inside from the somewhat less than desirable fine aromas that could be emanating from our hiking gear. Easy enough: want to know where to eat? Look for the lines. They're right here. We walked by several other tea purveyors and none had the crowd. And thereby I designate this as good as it gets in the town of Richmond.

Easily accessible off the a1 with free parking and I can even do my weekly food shopping in the farm shop. The thing i love the most about brambles coffee shop are the daily specials and the brambles club sandwich. this place has a wonderful atmosphere, not like you usual fast food coffee shops, more like a restaurant but with very cheap prices. you can eat and drink for under £5 easily and be well fed with huge portions. In summer you can not beat sitting outside in the sunshine at brambles. this place can get extremely busy and must do tremendously well. thats why they have decided to build a large extension i suppose but it just shows what good friendly service, good comfy atmosphere and good value tasty food can do. I can highly recommend the paninis or the prawn salad. the salads are very large so go hungry first.

Great food but very slow service…read more We were on the last day of a very boozy weekend in the lakes and needed a good breakfast to help us along. We hid from the rain this little cafe and ordered some excellent fry ups. Two of us had the standard English breakfast while Dan went for the large version which contained a serious amount of meat. I really enjoyed mine. The line up was scrambled egg (you get to choose you egg type), sausage, bacon, black pud, beans, tomato, mushrooms, hash brown and toast. My toast could have been more toasted (it was still pretty much bread) but everyone else's looked good so I think it was a blip. I had a latte too which was good. It's waitress service to order but they were not in any rush to come over so if you are hungry I'd suggest heading up to the counter.

One star lost for the absence of napkins which is a little harsh admittedly, but it's such a basic requirement it's surprising this has been overlooked.
