From the moment I stepped inside this historic downtown Jackson venue, I knew we had found something special for our 40th class reunion. The space blends timeless charm with modern sophistication, and Dee's passion for creating unforgettable experiences shines through in every detail. The Rookery truly is a one‑stop shop for any event. Dee walked me through the venue's layout, amenities, and options, and I was impressed by how seamless she makes the planning process. Whether it's event coordination, catering, entertainment, or the overall flow of the evening, she has every angle covered. Her years of experience and strong relationships with top‑tier vendors give you confidence that your event will be executed with style and precision. The venue itself is stunning -- historic architecture, elegant décor, versatile rooms, and thoughtful touches that make the space feel both grand and inviting. You can tell it's designed for celebrations that people remember long after they're over. Dee's hospitality sealed the deal. She's warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making sure your event reflects your vision. After meeting her, I left feeling excited, reassured, and inspired. While clearly an older property, it has been well-maintained and updated. Our room was immaculate, looked and smelled fresh. The bed was very comfortable and the noise level minimal. The wifi was spotty at best and we checked out for a medical procedure before breakfast was set up, but wouldn't count on much more than cold cereal and juice. Both the woman who checked us in and the man who checked us out were very pleasant and efficient. Don't go expecting a Hilton or Doubletree and you won't be disappointed. And will have some money left over for other expenses.

I have a love/hate relationship with places that sell used/vintage equipment. 9 times out of 10,…read moreyou don't get much trade in value for bringing on your used stuff at most places. Luckily I felt I got fair value for my trades. Sure it wasn't as much as I would have liked, but owner Patrick Harkins was very up front, honest, and believe it or not, nice with me. Felt like I was really being taken care of the whole time. If you go, you're probably going to buy, in which case the gist is this; there is a decent selection. It's like being in a guitar museum; each guitar looks like it's been hand-picked and not like it was just some beat up piece of junk. The selection is varied from Fenders to Danos to martins to even your BC Riches for all you metalheads. For me though, the amp selection was pretty choice. There are some decently priced deals. Okay, so maybe a $1500 silverface deluxe reverb is a bit much compared to Craigslist finds, but they're all well taken care of, and look pristine for the most part. Pedals/effects selection is a bit lacking. Decent selection of boutique overdrives, but that's about where it stops. Not much in the way of reverb or analog delay. In fact, I bought the last delay pedal so there might not even be any reverb/delay selection by the time you go. So why should you go here? A multitude of reasons. Awesome collection of vintage guitars. The service is also awesome. I would trust these guys to do guitar work/minor amp work, and Patrick at the very least definitely knew a lot about guitars. There was also no pressure to buy at all unlike big box music stores. Even if you're buying your first guitar (or your little one's first), you'll feel good about buying from here. Take it from a guitar nerd, this place is highly recommended.
