The hotel sits in the middle of what I call a planned community. There are restaurants, grocery stores, and plenty of great shopping. There's a country club within walking distance of the hotel, and with a day pass, you can enjoy the amenities. The hotel itself is lovely inside and out. The lobby is spacious, and the color scheme is made up of maroon couches and green chairs, and the area flows into the breakfast area. The high tables are wooden with black and red leather chairs. The bedrooms are more of a suite. The living room and bedroom areas are divided. It's a full living area with a sectional, TV, desk, small refrigerator, and microwave. The bathroom is the same, and it is spacious to put all your toiletries. I really love that the shower has a step-up. It's really beautiful place.

A little frustrating at times since the wait is already 30-45 mins. Food is still great. The Cole slaw still the same. Fantastic. Pot of greens still great. We ordered our fish thin and crispy but it is not really thin and crispy. Still really good. We have been back twice since a year break due to the issues they have. Do not stay at this property…read more Due to a computer error, I was never properly checked in. When I returned after a full day of working in the field, I discovered that hotel staff had entered my room, gone through and removed my belongings, and locked me out. I was then charged for a night I did not stay at the hotel. Because the hotel had no other rooms available, I was forced to find another hotel at additional expense and inconvenience. What is even more troubling is how Hyatt and the hotel have handled the situation since then. Hyatt Corporate specifically instructed me not to return to the property and assured me that they would handle the matter directly. I was initially told that someone would contact me within 24-48 hours. It has now been approximately a month and a half, and the issue is still not resolved. No one has called me. According to Hyatt Corporate, the franchise owner has been made aware of the situation, yet there has still been no meaningful response or resolution. My company is also still being charged for a night that I did not stay at the property. Kareem, the manager who checked me in the previous day and spoke with me the morning of the incident, never contacted me to apologize or attempt to correct the situation. The lack of accountability, communication, leadership, and customer care from both the Ridgeland Hyatt Place and Hyatt Corporate has been appalling. I have repeatedly attempted to resolve this privately, but after a month and a half, nothing has been corrected. If Hyatt or the franchise owner has any questions or doubts about what occurred, I am available and willing to speak with them directly. They have my contact information and should call me immediately. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Hyatt Place Ridgeland. Stay at another property.

Had to run an extension cord to the other side of the bed to even plug my phone in at night. The a/c did not work, which is much needed in July. Turned the a/c all the way down when we checked in and it never really got much below 75 in the room. Checked with the front desk about it and he said he turned it on with his computer, that it had been off, even though we adjusted it in the room. Still never got any cooler even after it was 'turned on'. Awful! Will not be back.
