This is a pleasant little village pub, in the heart of Stainton, which is a little village in Middlesbrough. The pub is pretty much the centre of the village, just round the corner from the village shop and post office.
From the outside, it looks really pretty with hanging flower baskets all along the front etc. It also has a convenient little car park at the side, and a bigger one at the back, hidden from view.
Inside, it's very nice, too. It has a cosy sort of atmosphere, and feels really comfortable. A great place for a drink or a meal in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Sometimes, in the summer, they use the car park at the back for various village events, which spill into the pub.
It's basically a village pub, but you do get people from surrounding areas in there quite a lot, not just the people who live int he village, so it can get quite busy at times. read more
