Tage's work
Kayla L.

Tage was recommended to me by a friend awhile back, and now I've been coming to him for my son's hair cut for the past few years, even after moving further south to SD. We always leave with exactly what we want, and it's a clean cut everytime. I highly recommend Tage and everyone else there for fresh cuts and clean fades. Love the spot!!

Areas where Kane pressed too hard with the clippers

Do not use Kane. Claude is my go to man. In a rush i used Kane. The haircut was a 6 out of 10. First off its took him 1:30 minutes for him to complete my haircut. He never dusted off the excess hair so i was itchy ans uncomfortable for the span of the cut. And to top that off, its been 5 hours and i have swollen from him pressing down wayyyy to hard on the clippers. Leaving me with red marks and senstive skin.

3 year old Mohawk

I found this spot on yelp through Taper Tage's Yelp Ad and decided to visit his shop called (The Spot Barber Shop) I took my boyfriend and his 3 year old nephew in for some haircuts. Tage took his time with each one and gave them a clean cut! I loved it! My boyfriend and his nephew loved it too. It's really hard to find a good barber and my boyfriend is extremely picky with his hair (especially since he is active military) but we were both really pleased he was fast and efficient. I highly recommend him as a barber (all ages, his great with kids!!), it was a 30 min drive from where I was and its completely worth it! We will be returning!!! Thanks again!!

Nice fade!

"I didn't know what my hair was capable of until Daniel got his hands on it."…read moreA year ago I sat in his chair not really knowing what I wanted, just knowing what I'd always settled for. What he created was something I genuinely never thought I'd be wearing -- a cut that works with my hair type instead of fighting it, tailored to my face, my lifestyle, and honestly my whole vibe. Daniel doesn't just cut hair. He listens, he studies your texture and your structure, and he executes with the kind of precision and confidence that only comes from someone who truly has mastered their craft. Every visit since has been consistent, clean, and better than the last. You sit in that chair and you leave feeling like a different man. And it's not just Daniel -- this place runs on appointment only, and every time I go to book, the other barbers are just as locked up. When an entire shop is consistently booked out, that's not luck. That's a reputation built on results. The shop itself is something else -- American flags, vintage décor, taxidermy on the walls, that old-school barbershop energy that you just don't find everywhere. It feels like a place that actually respects the craft. You walk in and you know immediately this isn't your average strip-mall haircut spot. If you haven't found your barber yet -- this is it. Ask for Daniel. Trust the process. You won't recognize yourself in the mirror, and you'll mean that in the best possible way.

I have gone to a few barbers at this barber shop and they're all great. Most recently I have been…read moregoing to Daniel. He is a really skilled barber. He has taken the time to get to know my hair and what I prefer in terms of the cut -- tamed my cowlick --my hair and beard have never looked better.

The folks over at "Evolved" Barbershop mean every single word they say and they stand by all of them, which on the night my 9 yr old boy and Ishowed up was quite a few of them. Seriously though, (and I do not have names nor would I share if I did), the dude at the front stall, as you enter, was very engaging and hilarious. From the moment we walked in his commentary was cordial, comical and engaging! I'm one of those dudes who is not overly fond of "small" talk. I am not a jerk about it and if you ask me some meaningless question, or point out some pointless fact such as, "Boy, it sure is getting chilly lately". I will respond to you, but I am not happy about it! I just like to keep the peace, ya know!? Now, to his actual haircut//"stylist". it was Fantastic/ She was Amazing! For $30, she threw some "rizz" on my boy! (At the age of 53, I have absolutely no clue if that word was just used properly or not?! Nonetheless, my kid was extremely happy about his new 'do, and I'm sure the 3rd grade "ladies" over at Whispering Oak Elementary would agree! My teenage daughter just "cringed". (I'm learning...). OK...well, now I feel would be a good time to conclude this review! Please know, and with 100% seriousness, our lady in the 2nd Booth from the front door was great! She was awesome at making my shy, always trying too hard to be cool, and quite picky, 9 year old feel great, comfortable and and with a newfound confidence. I suppose that is what a new look, expertly created, can do for you! I forgot to mention that she was quick, as well! We walked in (no appt) around 6:30pm pn a Tuesday night and there was only one other customer in the joint. During our 20 min or so, that guy finished and another guy entered and was promptly greeted and taken care of by the young man near the back. After roughly 17-20 minutes, my lil dood shook off the excess strands of cut hair and walked out of EVOLVED with a whole lot more "rizz" and you cannot place a price tag on that! My son's hair has NEVER looked better and I mean that!!! That is why we will be returning to EVOLVED every 3-4 weeks as we go forward!

From the moment you walk in, he makes you feel comfortable and taken care of. His attention to detail is unmatched -- clean fades, sharp lines, and always consistent. I later found out she was an apprentice, and honestly, she did a solid job. My haircut turned out great overall. There were a few small spots around my ears and neckline that weren't fully cleaned up, but nothing major. She had a positive attitude, and I believe she's going to be excellent with more experience. Now, unfortunately, the rest of the experience was not great. When I walked in, a gentleman in the first chair to my left greeted me and asked if I was ready for my haircut. As I was scanning the QR code, I said yes. He then directed me to a chair a few spots down. When I walked over, the young man there continued having a conversation with another barber and didn't acknowledge me. I stood there unsure of where to sit or what to do. After what felt like an eternity, I had to ask where I was supposed to go. Without saying a word, he pointed to the apprentice behind me and told me to sit with her, then continued his conversation -- even blowing another barber's beanie off with the air blower they use to clean hair off clients. While sitting in the chair, I noticed hair all over the floor, and the same two employees were goofing around and behaving unprofessionally. It didn't feel like a welcoming or respectful environment. To be clear, my one-star rating is not because of the apprentice. She did her best and treated me kindly. The issue is with the lack of professionalism, poor work ethic, and immature behavior from the other staff member. Customer service matters, and unfortunately, this experience missed the mark. I was charged $35, which I don't mind paying for a good haircut -- but I do expect professionalism along with it. Because of the overall customer service experience, I will not be returning or recommending this place.

He's not one to sit there and be quick, so if you want quick, go somewhere else. If you want someone to take their time, pride themselves in their work, and bend your ear, he's your dude. I went in the first time with an open mind. My second time, he got me damn near perfect, I say it like that, because anyone who knows about your relationship with a barber knows it's going to take at least 5 cuts to get things dialed in. I always, and I mean always only leave quality reviews on Yelp. If I am giving a review, it means I appreciate the overall experience and quality of service I'm paying for. With that said, Khalif is now my regular barber. Also, I would recommend setting a time with him up because if not, you might have to wait. Remember you can't have all three ever (easy, cheap, fast). For example, if you want it cheap and easy it's not going to be fast. If you want it fast is not going to be cheap or easy. He's a great guy and the staff are great in there too!
