My spa experience was extremely disappointing. The owner/practitioner was consistently rude and defensive and had a hard time rebooking my next appt. due to very limited time slots. After 2 ineffective treatments worth $240, I tried addressing my concerns by asking simply for in house "credit" for ONE of them, but was dismissed. No science or testimonials were given on why the treatment works "on everyone but me". She was unprofessional on phone calls, responded poorly to scheduling conflicts, and refused any compromise. She was even rude to my office staff when calling my office. This establishment lacks proper customer service and a clear separation between treatment and administrative staff making it awkward to complain to the person who is doing body treatment on you because she is the owner as well. I warned her I would post a poor review (my only power in the situation) asking her to talk it over and giving her a change to rectify the situation. She walked away, no apology or compassion-terrible for a "spa environment" or any business. Steer clear because as you see the in 2 of the other reviews, you might not even have an appt when you show up. They are in the dark ages when it comes to technology, which many people depend on, and is used to avoid issues they mentioned. They have no computer or emails/text reminders, all pencil and paper. What a horrible experience. I called and booked a couples massage on my birthday and I confirmed the date/time with the woman on the phone. We drove over a half an hour and showed up on my birthday and they were closed at the time given (4:45). I called, thinking there had to be some mistake - what massage place is closed at 4:45 on a FRIDAY? The woman on the phone was not apologetic at all. She just kept insisting that they were closed and they would not book at that time. It was very clearly the time given to me by the woman on the phone when I booked as I would not have agreed to an earlier time because of my work schedule. Not apologetic at all. I would not recommend this location to anyone. read more

The facility is very elegant and located on a beautiful, serene property. The staff is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Between the ambiance and the staff you are immediately put at ease. They offer several different types of services. My favorites so far are the Alpha Capsule (soooo relaxing! Who needs sleep when you can spend 20 minutes in this capsule!) And getting my ears candled. I know, crazy, right? I was really skeptical about this one, but my ears were so clogged and nothing was helping. This service was amazing. Gail (the Owner) put me at ease and did a fantastic job talking to me about the procedure, what to expect and what I should do afterward. My hearing was almost restored to normal in both ears after the first session. I did have to go back for a second session to remove a little more from my other ear. My hearing has been perfectly fine since then. :) Thank you!!! I have also received a few massages, including a couples massage (Ultimate Romantic Couples Package). It really was romantic. Everything was wonderful. Perfect for a couple who can only get away for a few hours and needs some R&R with each other. I would highly recommend their services to anyone who needs pampering and/or looking for regular alternative therapies. I am looking forward to trying the foot detox on my next visit ;) read more

It pains me to have to write this, but the one star is deserved. I scheduled a couples' massage for my wife's 40th birthday two weeks in advance. The appointment was confirmed verbally while I sat in front of my computer while having my online calendar right in front of me. We show up today and BANG! the appointment is in their book for tomorrow. We have a long-standing family commitment tomorrow, which would have been glaringly obvious to me while I sat staring on my own calendar. There's absolutely no way I would've double booked. They did not apologize nor attempt to try and rectify the mistake. My wife was horribly disappointed. I'm horribly frustrated and angry. No matter how well you trust your skills, there's always room for a mistake. I can tell you, this error was all them. Period. I will not be recommending this business to anyone. There are plenty of top-notch spas in Berks County, but in my experience The Spa at Willow Pond is not one of them. read more
