I mailed a cashier's check to pay for their services from Hayward to their San Francisco office, a short distance across the Bay, and it still took two weeks for them to receive it, then another full week before they even started the work I'd paid for. Then came the refund issue. Invoice came to $276.90, but I was overpaid and owed a $97.60 refund. When I asked about pickup, Accounting told me the check could either be mailed to my PO Box or held at their SF office. I confirmed the mailing option on July 14th, and they said the check went out that same day. By August 4th-5th, I still hadn't received it, so I followed up. I was told their bank showed the check as uncleared. I followed up again, and as of August 6th, I was still told the same thing, check the PO box and postmaster again, bank still shows it uncleared. I followed up again. It was left with silent treatment for a week. Weeks later, a $97.60 refund that should have been simple to process still hasn't reached me, and combined with the slow intake on the front end, it's hard to trust that this office has its administrative process together. Unfortunately, I was not the party who hired them. The opposing party hired them for our hearing. But now I know this is a company I would never hire as a court reporter. I'd think twice before using them again.
