His sermon spoke on how we must re-interpret the Bible on its statements on homosexuality and transgendered people. That the verses don't really mean what they state. I vote for equal human rights for the LGBTQ community BUT I draw the line at changing what the Lord commands for his children and for the church. This is a church that has fallen victim to the blurring of the lines of morality due to social pressure. This church is not for me.

The comedian showed up super late, kept everyone waiting 40 minutes after the show was supposed to start. Then used primarily the race card as his main act for the whole show. Yes there was a Bible verse in James and Amazing Grace was sung in a video, but clearly this was a money making production. Taking a 20 minute break to peddle merchandise and get $200 more dollars from couples. My wife and I felt like we went down a woke road with this comedian, saying he loves "white people"while fanning the flames of racism.

1) Don't attend this church if you have a physical disability unless you enjoy being treated like a…read more10 year old child. There is a 30's female that was a volunteer and attended this church for longer than I did, that has a physical disability so she can't drive to church, other than that she's perfectly able, normal, has a full time job, etc. However, once "Hospitality Pastor" Suzan started working there, she started treating this young woman like she had a mental disability or like a 10-year old child. I stood there many times when Suzan would literally come up to her and scold her for being at church past a certain time, as if she were mentally deficient and a child. Suzan also got multiple pastors/leaders to start treating her this same way: Pastors Kit, Ben, Paul, Josh, etc. among others. I can say it was very demeaning and it made me upset just witnessing it. I stood up for her many times, but finally they asked the woman to stop coming to the church, because she was disobedient for standing up for herself and not leaving when they demanded she leave. I also had a discussion later where Pastor Kit literally rolled his eyes and said "come on" when I said "this Woman is in her 30's" as if I should know that he sees her as a 10 year old. RH should consider itself lucky they weren't sued for ADA/discriminatory practices over this matter. There was another man in a wheelchair who had been attending for over a year that stopped coming after Suzan started working there, although I can't say it had anything to do with her, but the timing is a strange coincidence. 2) About 6 months ago, a new "Hospitality Pastor" named Suzan was hired at the church. I put the name in quotes because she is the queen of inhospitality. She is the leader over all the volunteers that greet people at the door and do other tasks. Since she started at least 70% of the volunteers have stopped volunteering or even stopped attending the church altogether (many were longtime members/volunteers of the church). I've heard from dozens of volunteers how overbearing and mean-spirited she is. She always is walking around with a smile on her face while simultaneously saying mean and disparaging remarks about how the volunteers are "doing their jobs wrong". I personally heard many of her comments while standing near the food table or talking to volunteers. 3) The staff and payrolls are extremely bloated. This is a medium sized church of about 2500 I would guess yet they have over 25 people on staff about 15 pastors with a payroll of $2.5 million or $100K a person, but that's the average. Financials are available on their website. I would guess their pastors are making $!50-$200K easily. Pastors work 20 hours a week: 10-3 M-Th (probably an hour lunch) + attend a Sunday service. It's a pretty good gig but doesn't convey the heart of being good stewards over God's resources. While it isn't a sin to collect a big salary, it makes me question the motives behind certain people being on staff at the church....is this a calling from God on their lives or a calling from their personal wallets? Would the still be working here for a more reasonable salary? I've been to similar sized churches on Orange County that had like 4 pastors and an office manager. With this massive staff + salaries you think they would at least be able to have one person available to answer phones (see 4). 4) Church leadership cares about the almighty dollar Much more than its people. Easy to prove this. Try calling the church and you'll get an automated menu with no way to reach a real human being at the church. Just for fun I tried all nine menu options. Guess which option was the only one that rang an actual line? Yup you guessed it "Giving". Everything else goes to a generic voice box that you'll be lucky to get a call back on. I did finally get a callback after leaving two messages, 4 days later, when I finally needed to call the church for the first time in years. You could literally be on the verge of ending your life and calling RH to talk to a "caring pastor" and you'll have to leave a voicemail and hope they call back before you end things. If you have a donation, don't worry someone will be there to offer full assistance. 5) Worship is really good but don't go to this church if you want strong Biblical teaching. It is a very doctrine light church. You'll get the milk every week but meat is not on the menu here. 6) No pastoral accountability. Pastor Kit was behaving un-biblically and I asked to have another pastor get involved and come over and join our conversation that night. Kit refused. There were other pastors there that night so why would you refuse to have another pastor offer his advice on whether this was Biblical or not? He then tells me to leave the church and call him later that week. Finally he calls me 10 days later and after being unable to come to terms, I also asked for the senior pastor call me and Kit refused. Left messages for Glenn and nothing.

This church is stunning!…read more I feel like my heart is just drawn to Catholic church's. The exterior of this church just screams Roman Catholic. To me at least. They had mass today and I stopped in to check out the building and vibe. It is odd to me that photographs seem to be discouraged for some reason. I wasn't able to take any photos inside the church- just got pictures of the outside. That's fine though, I can respect the rules. The inside is just as gorgeous as the outside of this church. It's very cozy inside and is very big. I would probably come back here.

I had made an oath and felt genuinely called to go pray. When I arrived, Mass was already in progress, but I only intended to quietly join for a few minutes. As I walked in, an older woman at the front stopped me. I was wearing a hat, which I planned to remove once I sat down, but before I could do that, she told me I wasn't allowed to enter. I asked why, explaining that I just wanted to pray and be part of the service. She refused and told me I couldn't come in. Then, she went as far as to physically hit my hat and told me I was being disrespectful. I asked again if she was seriously denying me access to join the Mass and pray, and she said yes. She told me to go to the chapel instead if I wanted to pray. I've never experienced anything like this before especially in a place that's supposed to be open to anyone seeking God. It felt wrong to be turned away like that when all I wanted was to pray and express gratitude.

I love Mariners Church!…read more We started attended during Covid times when in our immediate area of South OC didn't feel comfortable with attending church in person. I really appreciate the diversity at Mariners, the large campus with different areas you can choose to worship indoors or outdoors. I love that during each holiday they have different photo ops areas and events to enjoy after Saturday night service. They have Saturday 4pm, 5:30pm service and Sundays 8:30am, 10am, 11:30am. My 11 yo just got baptized at Mariners through his own wishes this past summer! My 16 yo has been attending here with his friends over the past years and has volunteered in the kids ministry this past year. I love that both my boys are growing with different leaders they are exposed to. What I love most is personally is the amazing worship sessions inside the chapel as the acoustics are incredible. I love the worship nights they host and how they have different ministry's for everyone. Lastly, I like that I don't feel obligated to connect with people. People are definitely friendship and welcoming but not pushy. I love pastor Eric's messages, they are personable and relatable to me. This is the most beautiful church I have ever been to.

Hope Christian Church has absolutely changed my family's life for the better…read more Before coming to Hope, we never went to Church regularly so it was a little intimidating trying out a Church and sticking with it, but after going to Hope once, we've never felt more at home. Everyone is so welcoming and nice, but truly they are just normal people! People who are ready to better their lives through Jesus. Pastor Josh has been the best pastor we could ask for. His sermons really hit home and are so convicting, in a good way. 10/10. Highly recommend, especially if you are a new family with kids. My girls love Sunday school every week!
