Great place! Gina, the owner, fit us in during a busy time just to help us out even while busy. I brought my 15 yo daughter, who had her heart set on getting highlight before the holiday weekend. We had called many places and all were busy, as was Gina. But she was so kind she fit us in anyway! She really made my daughter's day and did an excellent job. Very pleased! I move around a lot and that also means switching hairdressers a lot. I called Gina for information about wigs and she fit me in for a consultation right away. She has been instrumental in my confidence and shared her abundant knowledge with me, while offering great solutions for my predicament. I went to The Snippery to donate my hair, and will definitely be coming back! Gina and her colleague (I'm sorry, I forget her name!) were so friendly and professional. Before doing anything, they made sure I was comfortable and relaxed, then we discussed how much I wanted to donate and Gina triple checked with me that the remaining length of hair was something I was happy with before taking the first snip. They also take care of the donation process to Wigs 4 Kids. The biggest reason I definitely will come back is Gina's appreciation towards clients with long, thick hair. Unlike other salons, she didn't try to talk me into "thinning" my hair or cutting it really short; she mentioned based on her own experience, she wouldn't recommend thinning for my hair. Stumbled upon the Snippery while looking for wigs. Without an appointment, Gina enthusiastically told me to come in, and said there were several options for me. She sat me down in the chair and told me about how she could razor cut, add a topper, or go straight to a wig. Upon talking more, she said my hairloss story seemed similar to a client she had, and recommended me to see someone that helped not only that client, but her and her family as well! She even put a product in my hair to make it look fuller. I cannot believe she took the time out of her schedule to help me out, and I didn't even get a haircut! At first I didn't think much of the two negative reviews because there were so many other great ones. Now I look back and wish I had listened. There are signs all over the salon that they will give you $10 off if you review them on Yelp! So why were these reviews not filtered Yelp? My experience started similar to another customers review on here. My first (and last) visit to The Snippery I was 15 minutes early for my appointment with Amanda. The two girls at the desk ignored my presence and continued their conversation in front of me. I took a seat on my own and waited. After 30 minutes of listening to what would have been the trashiest Jerry Springer episode ever. I finally interrupted them to find out when I would be seen they said Amanda would be in soon. Finally 10 minutes later, Amada came walking in nonchalantly like she wasn't late. I was a little mad about that but I was just happy to get started. She had me washed immediately without consulting me or feeling my hair texture. I told her I wanted to keep lenght, some long layers, and possibly a long side swooping angle. My haircut was done in 10 minutes. The "blowdry" took 5 min. She didn't say one word to me until she finished and said "You're all set." The finish was full of static and stuck to my head. She messily dried it with her fingers and then flatironed me. I have fine, flat hair I never use a flatiron. My side swooping thing didn't swoop, it was like a shelf that hung by my eyes. she said it was my cowlick. I was so upset when I paid and left. I will never go back. The next day I went somewhere else and said it will take a few times to grow out the front. I will never go back because of bad customer service, rudeness, being late, filthy salon, bad quality of work, and listening to staff talk about R rated personal stuff. read more

I recently moved to the Braintree area and was looking for my "Go To" hair salon, you know a friendly, clean and welcoming place where everyone knows your name and most of your life story by the end of your cut....I also need a place that doesn't break the bank. Is this so hard to ask? apparently yes. Upon my arrival at the Snippery I was welcomed by two blank faces as I entered through the door, one male and one female. After introducing myself I was told to sit and wait as they prepped to wash my hair. At this point I was offered water which was sadly the most pleasant part of the experience. The cut was bearable but nothing ground breaking....they tried to push products at me and up sale the appointment the entire time. Worst part was, they didn't even offer to blow out my hair! I do have long curly hair but this is why I go to a salon...so someone with expertise will blow out and do my hair, not be lazy and take the easy way out and stick me under a dryer while they surf facebook...YES that really happened...in plain sight of me. Great place to go for hair and make up. I had my hair done in an up do for 2 proms and 1 wedding. Hair never came down at all. The make up is done so it is not caked on and looks very natural and beautiful. One down side is it is a bit pricey but worth it. read more

Gina claimed she is an expert in "brush to brush" layering but my hairstylist has never heard of it. My hair was an uneven mess. I found the Snippery Hair Studio on Yelp while looking for a wig, as my hair loss was almost complete, and I had a very important event coming up. Gina advised me to go to Patricia and Company, and while the wig was a good color, Patricia cut it very unevenly. I called Gina, and she was kind enough to give me an appointment, even though she was very busy! I thought I knew the style I wanted, but it was based on the way I had my very thin hair cut. She showed me a style that was much more attractive, and then evened everything out and did a razor cut, which made my bangs and and the hair around my face wispy and soft. I was extremely pleased with the cut, and asked HER for product that would work with my wig-she never tried to press any extras, and the cost for my haircut was very reasonable. As what I have for hair grows out a bit, I'll go back to her to earn how to blend my own hair with the wig. This wasn't my first time at The Snippery and definitely won't be my last. Gina is affordably priced as are her products. I called Gina late in the day on Friday and she was able to squeeze me in for the next afternoon, Saturday. I showed her what I wanted but also told her do whatever she thought would look best for my face shape (she's the professional) Gina blew me away with her creation, I am more then satisfied with my color and cut. Gina used Oligo Organic color which is the best for my damaged hair, she also used her "brush to brush" technique when layering my medium - long hair. I wanted to keep my length but also wanted to trim my dead ends. I also wanted something that was low maintenance, and she did it all. I highly recommend Gina to everyone and anyone who is looking for anything from "just" a trim to a full make-over, an everyday look to a wedding. She is amazing at what she does, truly an artist. At first I thought it was just the salon shampoo that made my hair look and feel so great, but I realized it was the cut that made my hair 100% healthier. I always rely on reviews but selfishly rarely write them unless I have had a horrible experience beyond words or a wonderful experience! At the Snippery in Braintree I had a wonderful experience! After years of paying an arm and a leg to have my hair bleached to death, broken and thinned out...I needed a change big time. I went to see Gina at the Snippery at the recommendation of a friend(who is picky as hell) and after noticing her hair looks great, I decided I would check it out. I was able to get an appointment the same week for a full foil, a cut, and also a cut for my daughter. Its been over a month since I've had my hair done and I have to say that it has never felt healthier! Gina did a great job on my color and my cut. She explained what was going on with my hair and how we could fix it, she made suggestions on what products would be best for my hair, and she was very patient with me in explaining everything! My color came out awesome and the cut came out great too. Gina has an eye for style and was very helpful in helping me choose a cut that would work best and it did! She also cut my daughter's hair in an adorable style and made suggestions on how she could avoid having to blow dry and straiten her hair everyday by using certain products and styling techniques. In the past month, I think she has had to straiten her hair only once or twice a week as opposed to every day! The Snippery is clean, bright, and very quaint. It has a very relaxing ambiance. When I have the 2 hours to get my hair done, I like to be able to relax for a few without having to hear the latest gossip going on at the salon from 10 different stylists along with 10 dryers going, 5 sinks, and so on. The Snippery offers just that, along with great advice and conversation with Gina. I would highly recommend going to the Snippery if you want your hair to feel healthy again, or if you are looking for a great color, cut or just a new style.
