This is a nice cigar store which carries a lot of cigar items. They are actually very well priced for accessories such as Humidors selling with a package deal that would cost $$$ for $$. As for the main cigars they have discounts if you buy a whole boxes and pay cash/debit on both Cuban some non Cuban brands which makes them somewhat in the reasonable priced range. The sales person was very helpful and took his time assisting me. Nice Patio where you can drink coffee and enjoy a stogie so +1 for that. I wish there were more places like this where you could buy a cigar for reasonable price and enjoy it with a coffee at least (a real dink would be awesome) 3 Star for prices and 4 for accessories and coffee! 3.5 Average. read more

First time went in the store. Looks very nice lots of products. Sorry but I was extremely Disappointed. When I went into humidor I was like WOW nice cigars but when I touched it, the cigars were cover with DUSTS and So SO SO SO dry. Like "Dry" I bought one cigar ( I chose the at least dry one) I smoked one when I came home. When I cut the cigar already it was ruined and as I light up the cigar, started to crack. I mean I some what finished the cigar but I was not satisfied with how they treated there cigar. You guys can check my dry cigar out I posted the image. read more

I do almost all my business online with TSC and the service is exemplary. Packages are well packed and shipped same day or next, and get to me within 4-5 days. I did get the opportunity to drop in to the shop in person during a visit to Toronto, and was very pleasantly surprised by the staff's helpfulness and the general ambience of the store. Its a gem. I don't bother looking around other websites anymore for my needs. I'm a pipe guy, and they have what I want at fair prices. I'll be sure to pop in again next time in town. read more

Rude, unprofessional, condescending, and arrogant staff. I have made purchases at this shop on two separate occasions, and both were terrible experiences. For starters, they seem to love belittling customers who are under 25 years of age. The SECOND you walk in, they will ask for your ID with no hesitation. They won't even greet or welcome you into the shop. Most quality cigar shops will ask for your ID when making a purchase. After showing your ID, you are then accompanied by an employee while you browse through their cigars. God forbid they give you some space and let you take your time browsing. No, you have someone constantly looking over your shoulder as if you're a criminal. When choosing a cigar, I usually like to ask the shop for a recommendation. At The Smokin Cigar, that is strongly discouraged. It's very obvious that they have no interest in helping you. They just want you out the door as soon as possible. When narrowing down my choices to 2 cigars, I asked what the difference was between them. I was simply told "everything". What a terrible way speak with a PAYING customer. You can't inform me on the characteristics of those 2 cigars? I asked a couple simple questions, is that not allowed here? I've been the many cigar shops and the staff are always more than happy to give recommendations and provide info when asked. They also leave you alone and let you browse without watching your every move. Both of my visits here gave me the impression that I am not welcome in the shop and that I should take my business elsewhere. That's exactly what I'll do. I refuse to be belittled and spoken down to in an establishment where I am trying to give my money to. read more

A few members of our pair group recently stopped in to visit The Smokin' Cigar on Bayview in Toronto. The owner (Trae) recently moved to this location just a few blocks from his old one, but the Bayview store has been in business for 17 years. They recently spent a lot of money on renovations and it shows. The place looks well kept and up-to-date. When first walking up to the entrance, we saw some small tables and chairs out front, which is great because when you buy, you can sit outside and enjoy them right away! We also saw in the front window, some large standing humidors and they seemed to have some great prices on them too. We walked in and we were greeted by Trae and Ian. The room is quite long with a good-sized walk-in humidor at the back. They were friendly and asked us how we heard of the shop and what kind of cigars we are into. They offer shaving magazines, accessories, humidors, a large pipe section which includes some premium pipes as well as pipe tobacco. I was pleased to see that they had some brands there that I hadn't seen elsewhere or tried before. They organized all of the Cubans to one side and non-cubans to the other, which is nice. We asked Ian a lot of questions about the cigars, where they come from, what differentiates some different blends, and many more, and he was able to answer all of them well and confidently (not knowing we were just testing him). Both his and Trae seemed to have a great amount of knowledge, which is what you want in a local tobacconist. Their prices were surprisingly fair and on some items even much cheaper than I've experienced outside of 'the city'. You are also able to purchase an espresso or soft drink from there to enjoy with your cigar on the front patio. I really enjoyed my experience at the shop and recommend to any others looking for a good tobacconist in Toronto, to check this place out. There is another location in the beaches as well that is on our list to check out, but I hear good things. read more

I had the pleasure of finding this location as i had a couple hours to kill from a conference held down at the brickworks area. I was just going to stop in but ended up indulging in a very special monte cristo cigar and a special brewed coffee. The staff was incredibly helpful without any painful pressure; and as such i ended up buying a beautiful new humidor for a very reasonable price. Great product, knowledge and friendly staff, without a pushy sales process. Highly recommended with good selection of cigars from cuba, north and south america at reasonable prices. read more

This place is awesome and I don't even smoke. Cigars. ;) My husband does, however, and these guys have never steered me wrong. They have a great selection and they log what you buy so that they can make recommendations or just point you in the direction of an old favourite you've forgotten. It also comes in handy when buying gifts for others. They have a decent selection of humidors in a range of prices and various accoutrements to go with. Got a neat ashtray there last Christmas. There is now a Beaches location, but it was worth the drive up Bayview to shop there. read more

I recently stopped by to purchase a new humidor because they had a deal where you receive a Cigar Lighter, Cigar Cutter and Leather Cigar Holder if you buy specific humidors. First thing off the bat store is presented nicely, friendly staff at first but not very knowledgeable about the humidors or the cigars they carry. The lady helping me was clumsy, everything she touched she dropped. She couldn't answer my questions about where it was made, was the interior made of Spanish cedar nothing. Luckily I did a fair amount of research before coming in and knew exactly what I wanted as to not rely on her. She helped me prepare my humidor and dropped every plank of cedar that came with it. I asked to have the humidor replaced and received cut eye. After preparing my humidor she went to grab the free lighter, cutter and "Leather" Cigar Holder that came with the humidor. The lighter had no fluid the day after, the cutter broke within a week and the "Leather" cigar holder turned out to be plastic. Luckily my gf bought me a Xikar lighter and cutter so I didn't have to rely on deal that came with the humidor. After seasoning my humidor, the humidifier that came with the humidor won't stick to the box like it should. It falls off every time I open the humidor. The adhesive that comes with it is equivalent to that of a post-it. I've resorted to buying a 3rd party humidifier to resolve this problem. All in all the products are crap and I got sucked into the cheap deal that came with the purchase. I spent $180 on the humidor with no warranty, no exchange or refund. On top of everything the selection of cigars is non existent and whatever they have is expensive compared to tobacconists around the GTA. If you are a first time buyer do not step foot in this store, I would have much rather gambled on buying a humidor online than buy it from them. Looking for cigar selection and competitive prices go somewhere else, they charge at least 4 - 7 dollars more than others in the city. read more

I have traveled the world in search of premium cigar stores and fine craft ales. I discovered this gem of a store several years ago in a funky little Toronto neighborhood. After talking for about 30 minutes to one of the most knowledgeable cigar aficionados in the business I was pleasantly surprised to discover I was speaking with Trae the owner. We spent the next couple of hours talking. I came in as a stranger to Toronto and left The Smokin Cigar as part of the Canadian family. What an awesome place and great person.
