This place is conveniently located close the Royal York station. The setup is quite nice with a huge cupboard style humidor with all the Cuban brands well represented and a few non major non Cuban brands. Lots of tobacco related accessories. they also sell wine and drink related items. The sales person is quite friendly and took his time helping me out so full marks for that. The prices are on the higher end and are similar to the downtown vendors. On the plus side there is a small table outside where one can enjoy their purchase if needed. read more

I'm a stage IV Cancer patient who was collecting empty cigar boxes for the people in my support group. They were being used for our medications, needles, cards from friends and family , radiation burn ointments, etc. Thanks to the kind Studio Cigar store employee who gave me the empty boxes, every other week or so, I was able to show up to the hospital with new boxes. It was something we all looked forward to. Jerry, the owner, was not there to give me the boxes the times I went. But he was there today, and kicked me out of the store, embarrassing me. He didn't want to give us any more boxes, but said I could grab the ones he left on the side of the street on garbage day. I am 28 years old. The doctors gave me 9 months left to live. I can't tell you how much joy bringing the pretty cigar boxes to my support group gave me. I no longer have that. Jerry, I hope you read this, you only had to put up with me visiting your store until I got too sick to walk. I feel it necessary to say I never write reviews but felt an obligation with this shop. The gentleman who served me was so very patient with me as well as being knowledgeable of course. His advice with pairing and the combinations of questions showed me that he cared more about my satisfaction rather than making a sale. I only wish I could have given this shop more stars. In a nutshell - I basically just got kicked out of the store for shopping with my kids . I was being asked how much longer we were going to be shopping, that kids under 18 were not allowed, and that the store could be fined $5,000. Even if this is all true - the approach, and how it was communicated was pretty bad. After spending literally hundreds of dollars over the years here - especially at Christmas - I''ll spend my earnings elsewhere. You guys can get out of the Kinsgway - for all I care. read more

I used to come to this place very often... I used to spend there hundreds of dollars and a regular customer. ...however got really fed up by the arrogant owner! He would not let you touch the cigars( very stupid - as at any reputable cigar place they let you smell, touch and select), or question anything. His attitude always terrible. The best place in Toronto - Casa Del Habanos -Yorkville (if you go regularly you get 10%). Also there is another place close by 2177 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON M6S 1N3 HAVANA CASTLE CIGARS. Much nicer people and if you tell them your story about Cigar Studio - you will learn that a lot of people were frustrated and stopped going to Cigar Studio. read more

I've been going to the cigar studio for years when I'm looking to try a new cigar because it's close to home. I know their prices are horrible on basically every cigar in there but once I sample from them then I know what I like and can purchase cheaper online or friends etc. every time I'm in there when the owner is there he seems to be rushing you out of the store. Today I came in to buy a cigar to try wasn't sure what I wanted so instead of suggesting a type or brand he just starred at me for like 4 minutes in silence then he's like anything jumping out at you? I say I'm not sure then after another 1-2 minutes he's like ok buddy lets get you a cigar. I was kinda shocked that he'd rush like that either way I said ah ok I'll try the house blend Honduran and when I reached for it he rushed over in front of me and said no I'll get it for you. I still remember years ago this guy kicking me out of the cigar store because my two year old son was sleeping on my arm and I had wondered in to browse the cigars. He's all like "hey he can't be in hear" of course I thought ya that makes sense with all those two year old cigar smokers out there. Don't get me wrong Alex the other guy there is a cool cat and let's me take my time when I'm browsing for cigars. He likes to talk about them with you and makes you feel welcome. I've never left without opening my wallet until today so who knows why jerry is a giant a**hole. At the end of the day it's not worth paying $40.00 for montecristo no.2 or $20 on a montecristo no.4 just a few examples of the prices when I'm not even aloud to take my time away from the wife and kids and just be with the cigars lol. 4 Willindon Blvd., Toronto... So my story begins as an American visiting my family at home for Canadian thanksgiving. I got in late last night and leave early Tuesday morning. While I was here today, I decided to swing by a cigar store near my family's house to pickup a Cuban or two. I went to a local shop called, "Cigar Studio". I walked in and the owner gave me the cold shoulder until I asked him a question, causing him to respond against his will. After a few minutes, I decided on grabbing a Montecristo No.4 and proceeded to check out. As I was walking to my car, I looked at the cigar and noticed some mold on the cap. I immediately turned around and walked straight back to the store. Since I knew this was a touchy subject, I waited until the store was empty to approach him and let him politely know that I wanted to exchange my cigar because I saw mold on the cap. In the kindest way possible, I explained to him my situation and he proceeded to tell me off with great statements such as... "I've been in business for 22 fucking years, you think I could pull that off with moldy cigars?!?!" or, "That's just plume buddy, I know what I'm fucking talking about, you'll find that on all Cuban cigars"... So, I left the store super upset that I paid full price for a moldy Cuban and then the owner didn't even have the decency to listen to what I was saying. 4 hours later, I decided I would light it up anyway(since it was an expensive Cuban and I couldn't let myself waste it). I cut the cap off... Mold all inside!!! I was so mad and couldn't help but think how many other customers got scammed in his 22 year reign! After seeing that mold, I knew there was no way I was smoking it... I then cut it in multiple dissections and just continually found more and more mold. Brothers and sisters of the leaf, please do not fall prey to this store and owner. All I wanted was a Cuban cigar to celebrate a holiday with my family, instead I got a wonderful bill and cussing out by a "great" cigar store owner. Bad Attitude and illegal pricing policies! I agree with the other posters here. Unless you are spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars here, they don't want to deal with you. I went in and spent $80+ tax on a couple of cigars and the guy didn't want to talk to me or explain anything about the cigars I was buying. On top of this, I grabbed one of the b'day cards at the front of the store which clearly had the price of $3.75 on it. The guy rang it up as $4.50 plus tax. I said where does it say $4.50 as I pointed at the card pricing. The Cigar Studio guy behind the counter says "It's $4.50", grabs my money and starts talking to the other store guy and ignores me as I look at him. What ATTITUDE. I spend $100 and barely a few words, and all with attitude. It's too bad as I live in the neighborhood and to have such a bad customer service oriented store - I'll take my business elsewhere and I suggest others do the same. read more
