Cigars are a luxury item (well, according to the govt). As such, I'm not getting them at the gas station, corner store, or Walmart. Although I'm relatively new to the past time, I do appreciate the finer things. You can get steak at IHOP or at a steakhouse -- I prefer the latter, and Cigar Bodega is in this category. The entire experience from enjoying a cigar for me starts from point of sale. You can tell lots of care is taken to ensure a positive experience by the level of upkeep -- and perhaps the no ice cream sign alludes to this. Sarah herself is also very well put together, unlike some other unkempt cigar shop proprietors. Sure, cigars may be cheaper elsewhere (trip to Cuba anyone?) but I like to support the local "scene". Great spot to pick up an awesome stick and enjoy the surroundings. They have an extensive selection of Cuban and non Cubans available and are kept at perfect humidity. (Its the worst feeling when you pick up a cigar that doesn't properly store their sticks.) I've been dropping by here for years and I have never encountered any problems with my haul. My suburban travels brought me to Unionvillle today as I explored my regular bar and restaurant spots along Main Street. Flipping open my yelp app I did a generic search of businesses in the area and suddenly the app informed me that I was standing next to cigar shop. What!!?!? I've been frequenting the streets on Unionville for years and I never noticed this place. I looked around and low and behold it was right across the street from my car! Cigar Bodega is a premium tobacco and cigar shop hidden on Unionville Main Street. It shares a building with La Grotta Italian Restaurant. I find the Sopranos irony of Italian Food and cigars to be mind bending! Entering I was blown away by the sweet smells of familiar fragrant tobacco and cedar. Cupboards well stocked with cigars from every popular cigar manufacturer line the walls. There are also plenty of humidors and cigar care products for purchase. This all paled in comparison to the walk in humidor room towards the stores rear. Floor to ceiling stogies. Heaven. You could feel the humidity in the air keeping these fat boys moist and smoke ready. I did enter with a question, why had my home humidor dried out my collection, and could my cigars be saved? The associate behind the counter was amazingly helpful and offered some helpful suggestions to fix my humidor but let me know that my cigars were likely beyond repair. Sad. However I will be returning in the coming weeks to have them teach me proper humidor care and maybe even begin the long process of restocking my now depleted collection. read more

Not a bad place overall. The guy running the register seemed friendly and helpful. There was a nice selection of high-end humidors and equipment for sale, and if I hadn't been limited for time, I probably could have been browsing for quite a while. Unfortunately the H. Upmann No.2 that I came in for, every one in the box (and one or two other boxes near it) were developing mold. It didn't seem like they were past the point of no return, but still it's an issue that should be addressed. I ended up with a Cohiba Siglo 2 that was just fine. Anyone looking to shop here might do well to carefully research the difference between mold and plume before heading in, so you know what you're getting. I went to check out this shop a couple of weekends ago. My sister and I decided to go stroll around unionville and I stumbled upon this shop. I'm a fan of cigars and I've been to pretty much every cigar store in Toronto. Sarah, the owner greeted me upon entering the door and went on to explain what type of cigars she had and the selection and price ranges. She was very laid back and was not pushy and did not watch me like a hawk like other cigar store owners have. I decided to leave but decided later on to come back and purchase two cigars because of her great service. The two cigars I bought were a 15 year aged robusto and a 18 year aged robusto and they were impecable smokes! Really nice and smooth! Would definitely go back and highly recommend it! Not really over priced, pretty average for what cigars and cubans especially go for in Canada. Shop is small but welcoming and the staff there are nice and knowledgeable and recommended me a nice brand as i am relatively new to cigar smoking. Las Antillas was a very enjoyable affordable cigar. Great place for seasoned smokers or people starting out. Only thing I can say is maybe the cigar accessories are slightly more expensive than elsewhere. Definitely the place to go if you live in the GTA. Keep up the good work Bodega. read more
