Opposite the sister rocksalt restaurant (head chef Mark Sargeant) this is fish and chips done properly in a cool urban styled space. High ceilings, stone floor and solid wood furnishings - not the comfiest but its great for popping in for lunch if you are on the beach next to the harbour. We have been here for the last two summers - and will be whenever we are down visiting the kids' grandparents. Chips cooked in beef dripping, mushy peas and great batter with really high quality fish sourced locally. All beautifully presented in a takeaway friendly box. You can also get a beer - so beach lunch heaven! The staff need a bit more energy - and if they add that it will get another star next year - the food though is really very very good. Superb nice looking modern spot on a kind of old school Harbour in mutation, (for those who are more into old style place there's some nice one Around also) all is made on order, I don't get why they don't do home made French fries that was the bad surprise. It's for me not the best fish & chips in town but definitely the most trendy and the location is perfect for a fast meal and a walking by the sea as dessert. read more
