I was taken here by my friend who lives in New Zealand. She raves about it and now I understand why. The food was amazing, the setting beautiful and as the exchange rate was in our favour, proved to be great value too. I paid about £25 for a fantastic quality 3 course meal.
The house specialty is smoked seafood. I tried a mixed platter of mussels, 4 types of fish with foccacia and 2 dips - yummy! Thoroughly recommend. Their shop is next door if you fancy taking some of the smoked food away with you.
There was a very big group the evening we were there but they came and took our orders promptly so we were not caught behind the inevitable large order.
The restaurant is set on a wharf so on a warm evening you can expect some lovely skies set against the waters edge. We happened to eat as the tide was coming in which was very atmospheric. Seating outside available but it was bit cold for us on this occasion.
A definite highlight of my visit to New Zealand! read more
