Super shady business here. It was my fault for not asking how much the smog check would be before giving over my keys, but living in California for 10 years I just assumed it would be in the regular 30-50$ range. The gentleman performing the service asked if I would be paying with cash, and when I said how much is it, was told $80. I said "I only have $40 cash" so he offered to give me a $10 discount if I gave him $20 and put $50 on a card. What?? Started feeling really weird at this point so I went on the website where I couldn't see their rates listed but did find a $20 off coupon which he did honor, begrudgingly. Something felt very off in this transaction, like I was being charged a rate he made up based on assuming I didn't know how much a smog test usually costs. Just stopped by for a smog check mind you I called before to see how much it was gonna be. The man stated it was 59.95 so I get there as soon as he's done he's telling me that it's 80 and I ask him that I have a coupon that I want to use the coupon clearly states it's $25 off. He says he can only do 20. I'm like OK cool so then he tells me at 65 mind you he literally said it was 5995 and I told him he's an older man barely understand so I was already there. This morning I had smog check at this shop. After work, I asked him how much it was. He said 'Thirty' dollars but I found he charged me 'Seventy'. I am an Asian with Asian accent. Been here 3 times. First time my vehicle failed due to my ECU OBDII not ready after I replaced the crankshaft sensor. I came back for a retest 27 days and 600 miles later prior to the 30 day free retest period. The technician seemed inconvenienced by my arrival for a retest while he was watching tv with his feet kicked up on the desk doing nothing. The technician claimed that the OBDII code reader still showed not ready despite my code reader saying the contrary.He wouldn't show me his code reader and told me to come back in a couple days. He went back in the office to continue watching tv. This guy seems like a total douchebag. Came back the next day for a third visit. This time a different technician and he was really friendly. Checked my vehicle and it passed the retest. Talked to him about the other technician and he's heard complaints about him before but apparently the owner won't fire him. I called to get another vehicle smogged a couple months later. Got the same douchebag technician. Basically hung up on me. Claimed he was too busy to take my call but I suspect he was just watching tv again. Inconsistent service. Gonna go back to my old smog check location. My suggestion to the owner, fire the lazy unfriendly technician and I'll reevaluate my review and maybe try again but until that happens I'm not wasting my time. read more

ZERO stars for this place. My mom is on a limited income so we called around to find the best price. We were told $60 on the phone and we had found a $20 coupon on his site so we were expecting to pay $40. After the check he handed us a bill for $80. I explained we had called and were expecting to pay $40 with the coupon. He proceeded to argue with me about how he just tells people the price over the phone that includes the coupon already. He fails to mention that when you call though. I tried to explain that it should be made clear that price already includes the coupon so there are no surprises. I tried to explain how it comes off as false advertising and he told me to stop talking. He ended up giving us an additional $10 off the original price which was still more than we were expecting to pay. Would not recommend this place. Rude and false advertising. read more

If I could leave a zero star review, I would. The employee crashed our SUV into the metal casing around the dynamometer in front of my wife. She heard the crash and saw the employee back up and re-park the vehicle. Employee (Kamy) completed the test and returned the key. After my wife asked about the crash, he got defensive and denied doing it. When confronted with the evidence, he just kept telling her to get a lawyer. I called the shop and he started yelling at me saying to get lawyer and he hung up on me. His tune changed when sheriff was called, but he still refused to provide information. Inwaited 5 weeks to submit review hoping the business would take responsibility for the damage. Nope. Use with caution as this was our most expensive smog check. read more

The Google and Yelp said they were open. I was in the same shopping center to get an oil change. Rode through the back and their garage door was open. So, drove to the front and parked in front. Went to the front door and it was locked. There was a guy there just sitting and staring; no signs on the window that state closed. I had been coming here for over a decade, but today was the last day. I have a car that overheats if it idles for more than about 15 minutes. At this place it was never an issue because as other reviewers have said, they were fast. There was no line today so I thought great, I'll be done in 15 minutes. Well 15 minutes later, I'm still trying to explain the overheating problem to whoever this guy was. As the car started overheating, he told me to take it somewhere else. As I was driving away, he yelled at me to "get your fucking piece of shit out of here" When I replied that I had actually heard that, another string of unrecognizable profanity started, but I drove off at that point. It was a solid smog check but the guy who did my check had a bit of an attitude.. friendly he was NOT

There is a coupon on their website that reduces the smog check fee to $39.95. With the certificate fee and the electronic transfer fee, you end up paying $50. The website claims that the check can be done in about 15 minutes, but that only applies if you are the only customer they have at the moment. Give them at least 45 minutes, because there will be other cars in front of you. There appears to be only one test bay, which means only one car gets worked on at a time. There was only one guy working there when I went this afternoon. No one working the front desk. Just the one mechanic. I decided to try this place out based on the five-star reviews that were on a couple of other websites, but all those are written by the guy who runs the shop. I decided to yelp this business with the rating it deserves. Three stars, to me, means not horrible, no major problems, but not awesome either. read more

I would give them 6 stars if I could,. Mo is a wonderful, honest stand up guy! I took my daughters car to him after another shop told her it failed because it was "not ready" and charged her the full price for that. Mo checked her on board computer and got the same result however it took him about 2 minutes to do that and he referred me to a master mechanic just a few doors away who gave me the free advice about exactly how the car had to be driven (at a steady pace between 50 & 55 mph for at least 30 miles) if we had gone to him in the first place we would have saved the cost of the first useless smog check. High praise should go to all hardworking people who do their jobs with honesty and integrity. read more
