One of the many stresses of moving home is relocating all of your stuff, right?
Wrong!
The Small Removal Co. made the move really easy. They're BAR British Association of Removers) approved so you know already that they meet standards, but I was also pleased that their quote was considerably lower than another one I received.
I called about three weeks before the move date. A member of staff come to my old home to provide a quote a couple of days later. He told me how it worked, explained their insurance pricing and called back the same day to tell me the price and that the letter was in the post already. My only niggle here was that he turned up late to the appointment and the quote didn't mention the £100 refundable deposit for packing materials. That extra money was a bit of a shock when I was asked to pay it 5 days before the move.
Packing boxes (in two sizes) arrived 10 days before moving day. I did email them to ask for them so can't comment on how they typically do it.
On the big move day two smaller vans arrived in place of a single large van. This was much better because of the access to my flat being quite tricky. The two removals men were great. They arrived at 8:15, loaded by 11:15 and we'd unpacked at the new home by about 1:30. The bigger pieces of furniture were taken apart and reassembled really quickly. Only difficult thing for me was not getting involved beyond making tea and coffee. I felt quite useless!
