*After this last year of living alone, I had forgotten just how friendly and kind people can be. I…read morewas pleasantly reminded of the better angels that walk among us during today's visit at Nostalgia. *In many ways, it's a typical second-hand store, considerably cleaner than most, though; and no 'funky' smells! *I stepped inside and explained my 'mission': a nice second-hand frame for a bit of recently acquired art work, AND since it was roasting hot, may I bring my leashed puppo inside? A friendly affirmation followed with a warning that there were THREE territorial katz in residence! I brought puppo inside, and yes THREE fine katz appeared. *Puppo ignored them, however one of the ladies offered to 'run interference' for us, as the largest kat, a massive fellow, wasn't too happy with a canine on premises! She walked ahead of us as I scanned each booth! Soon, I found exactly the type frame I was looking for, glass included! *Now I've been a second-hand aficionado for decades, and I've never encountered such kindness, folks. Second-hand stores are 'dime a dozen', staff such as these kind ladies are, are RARE! *Parking is a bit cramped, but handicapped access is superb! The interior is a bit cramped in areas, so leave the backpack and stroller outside. *Even though my frame was obviously used, they still insisted upon wrapping it up, AND carrying it to my vehicle! [bonus star!]

I feel like a Karen posting this, but I'm disappointed in the communication of this place to the…read morepublic about when they will be opened or closed. I came over here a few weeks ago on a Monday and waited for them to open and 15-20 minutes after opening hours no one was here and the door was still blocked with items. I called and got their voicemail which said that summer hours would include being open on Mondays 12-7. At that time there was no sign on the door saying closed for the day. I decided to try again today. Called twice before heading over to the store to see if they would in fact be open. Still no answer other than the voicemail, but the voicemail still said they would be open from 12-7 on Mondays. So, I decided to risk it. I just drove up to find out they still are in fact not open, at least they have a sign on their door (spelled wrong I might I add). If you are going to have a voicemail listing your hours of operation, you need to update it if you are going to be unexpectedly closed on a random, non holiday, day. This makes me very unlikely to come back because I don't want to waist my time or gas.

There's a couple of parking spots right out front the shop. I came for a wonderful dresser that I saw listed on their online page. Elizabeth was very friendly and happy to see me. We corresponded online about the dresser and she was graciously willing to hold it for me until I could pick it up this past weekend. The dresser itself was sturdy, almost like new and from the well known Broyhill brand. I felt like I bought it for a very good price. I will certainly be back to the E-clec-tique to look at more of their Christmas items. If you haven't been here yet, I can't recommend it highly enough and enjoy!!
