My mom and I stopped by a 9:30am creative flow class with Sofia, and my mom quite literally would not stop talking about it for days! The heated floors in the studio space was such a treat, and the practice allowed for much flexibility in how we practiced (my mom and I are quite different in activity level, class was still fantastic for both of us!). As a resident of 33 years I've been coming to the Shop since it opened and love it. This morning I went for a walk without my phone and stopped by hoping to get a spot in the 8am class. Despite plenty of spots being open, I was surprised to be turned away because I didn't my phone with me. I wasn't allowed to use their computer to sign up for a class. What kind of place doesn't let you walk in and sign up for a class, cash and credit card in hand? read more

My father is a yogi...I, on the other hand, am far from a yogi. Back in Chicago I'm all about boot camp and kickboxing...way too ADD for yoga. So a yoga studio must be pretty amazing if I'm giving it 5 stars... And wow is this place gorgeous! David, the owner, is also an architect so he designed this studio 10 years ago and nothing could compare to this. Everything from the high ceilings to the gorgeous wood floors to even the bathrooms are absolutely breathtaking. I took an 1 1/2 hour class with David himself this morning and although I still don't think yoga is actually my thing he actually kept my attention the entire time (which most yoga instructors can't do) and he definitely knows his stuff. And on to what I thought was the coolest thing about this studio...you pay by donation! He doesn't charge to take class, but puts out a jar that says donations are welcome and most classes are between $10-15. And the most amazing thing is that I watched every person in the class (about 15 people) put in at least a $10 bill. So if you're in Park City I highly recommend checking out The Shop, whether or a yogi or not. This non yogi may even be back later in the week for some more yoga... read more

I'm not a yogi by any standards but absolutely adore this place! While in Park City this past wknd, we had a hike planned but the weather gods were not on our side. So instead we looked for some other way to get a work out in and while looking for yoga studios on Yelp, found the Shop which had a beginners class starting in just a couple of hours. Two car fulls of us drove over and got the process started. I loved that it's donation based establishment--not because I'm frugal- but because I think it really just says something about the business itself and how they run and rely on the community ($7 minimum, $10-$20 recommended). We had a little time to get out mats and blocks in place and take in the place. It's one huge open space with a lot of natural light streaming in aka the perfect environment for yoga. I love yoga but often I forget I love it until I do it which sadly is every year or so. The class was an hour and a half long and had a perfect flow to it. Even though I haven't done in yoga in years, I felt like I hadn't missed a beat and was comfortable doing all the poses. Our instructor Mary was knowledgeable, kind and patient as well as chiming in every now and then to help us with our poses and words of motivation. There was a nice meditation and stretching time towards the end of the class and at the end, felt wonderful both physically and mentally. I wish I could just move this place from Park City to Denver because I would come back again and again if I could! All that being said, I still hate downward dog position but this class will serve as a reminder to me of how great I felt afterwards and why I need to continue to do yoga. read more

So delighted to have found MY yoga studio near my Deer Valley home. Amazing, inspiring and expansive interior space , a photo doesn't even do it justice. Edy led a challenging series of asanas in this morning's 'creative flow class', and through quotes and tidbits of yogic information ,was able to unify and harness both the physical and spiritual components of the practice. Whenever I'm in town, (at least once every month for a week or so,) Shop will be my yoga destination . Every day I love this little mountain resort more and more. I really enjoyed my drop in visit to this yoga studio. I attended two classes in July 2018 on a visit to PC. It was great to meditate and practice in this space that was an old bus garage when I went to PCHS 1976-80. The room is large enough to hold 100 yogis! Both instructors were well trained and guided the class excellently and with variety of style. I was honored to be able to share this experience and will definitely go back again this year when in PC. read more

If you're in Park City and looking for a yoga place, then I highly recommend THE SHOP! I was impressed upon entering - It's a seriously spacious but cute studio and designed perfectly for some yoga with its high ceilings and minimal decor. I don't really remember my instructor's name but she was very experienced and knowledgeable. She was patient and took her time to thoroughly explain each move. This review is specifically for the instructor, Tiffany Wood, and not the Shop. My bf and I were looking forward to a 5:30pm Monday class at the Shop. When we showed up, we couldn't find the studio. We saw some other yogis walking around the building and finally found our way to the entrance. Unfortunately, the owner had rented out the studio for a Sundance event for the next two weeks. We did notice a sign on the door saying that the class we wanted to attend had been relocated. It's a good thing we arrived half an hour early and had an iphone to help us navigate to the new location 20 minutes away. I thought it was really cool of Tiffany to make an effort to secure a different space so she could continue offering classes. We got there just in time and the space was packed! Tiffany taught an excellent Anusara class, really focusing on alignment. It was my bf's first time trying Anusara and it resonated with him, being an engineer who likes things broken down. I'd love to actually take a class at the Shop, but don't think I'll get to experience the beautiful space everyone raves about, since I'll be leaving soon. I'm a big fan of donation-based studios...that's the way it should be....pay what you can! Yoga should be accessible to all and the Shop wins in that regard! read more

I was in Park City for a retreat last weekend. My friends and I had a rough boot camp type workout and we were looking to get a nice relaxation and stretch in. It was rainy and The Shop wasn't too far away. We ended up at the Beginner class at 11a on Saturday. I believe our instructor was Mary. Upon entering the studio I was instantly impressed with how cool this place is. The open and calm feeling was immediately felt. We filled out our form, paid our donation (such a crazy good deal and I'm happy to donate!) and got all set up. They have tons of mats, blocks, straps and blankets to use. The class had a nice flow that was perfect for beginners but could be a nice challenge to deepen a pose for regular yogis. I enjoyed the entire class. The music was just the right volume. The space had just the right amount of light. The windows were perfect for letting the light/outdoors in. Mary was a wonderful instructor who seemed to really know her yoga! If I lived in the area I would definitely be a regular! read more

I'll give it 5 stars, b/c they have so few reviews it really doesn't matter. I have first-hand experience at this yoga studio. Upon my first-hand experience, I was at the location, standing in front & decided not to take the classes. Just like sitting down at a restaurant and not taking a bite b/c the food didn't look good. Main reason: not enough classes offered; therefore, I don't consider them full-service. However, if anusara is your style, then give it a try. I'm sure they are top-notch. read more

Beautiful space to do yoga (the owner is an architect) , beautiful teacher (Edy) that is unselfish about sharing her wisdom, and a friendly dog (Remi) that made sure everybody felt welcome. The place is very cool, very clean, and has a great vibe! I visit many Studios and this one is a special one! This was one of my favorite studios I have ever visited as an out-of-Towner. My friend and I were just visiting Park City and were craving some yoga so we found The Shop on Yelp. We took a creative flow class led by Sherie Russell and it was truly creative. We used lots of props and moved into poses very intentionally to prepare us for handstand practice. As an experience yoga practitioner, I was impressed with Sherie's creativity, skill, and friendliness. I would definitely visit this studio again if I come back. I went to the shop on a whim (at a local friend's recommendation) while visiting Park City for the weekend; I was so happy for it! The practice space is absolutely beautiful, large and airy with natural light. The instructor (male) cannot remember his name :( was excellent and made me feel very welcome and provided appropriate guidance for my first class with him. I regularly practice yoga and I thought this level 2 Anusara class would be a good fit for me, but it was a true challenge - perhaps because of the altitude and 75 min length, who knows, but it was a good challenge none the less. The space is beautiful! The vinyasa class was fun, but could have been a little more challenging. The only complaint is that the space got kinda cold during the end of class as we were cooling down and didn't have much body heat anymore. The only suggestion I would have would be to maybe keep one heater on during class so it's relatively warm. Overall a good experience. They also don't tell you on their website but they do have free mat rentals. read more

Was searching for a yoga class during a Christmas-to-New Year ski vacation in Park City to help unwind, stretch, and recenter in preparation for the new year. Based on the Yelp reviews I joined a noon yoga class led by Sherri and it was a wonderful experience. The studio atmosphere is calm and peaceful and Sherri is an excellent instructor. If I were staying longer in Park City I would definitely attend more classes! I highly recommend this studio. read more

I am visiting Park City for a few days and decided to take a class in town and was not disappointed I chose The Shop. Such a beautiful space! I took Dave's class today and it was perfect. Although I am not a beginner, and was taking a beginner class, Dave's challenge for us to be present with your breath for the entire class was a challenge for me.
