ESCAPETHEROOMers first escape room in Copenhagen, Denmark gave us a very nice surprising welcome…read more Escape Room København - Down The Rabbit Hole is an experience like no other. From the way they worded the game confirmation letter (informing you the mission to come), to the game master's welcoming (playing the role of the professor's assistant), to the lobby decor, and finally to the game itself. Right when we entered the "lobby", the design felt like someone's apartment (in this case, the professor's). You are then led to a dining room where there's tea and coffee prepared for you (if you like to have the full experience, they also serve dinner). This game has a minimum booking number of 3 people so with 2 people it was a bit challenging. However, we made it out with a few seconds to spare! You can also now book with a team of 12 as they have two identical rooms that can fit 6 each. The "welcoming" took about 15 minutes and then the game master will debrief you as you enter the actual escape room. The storyline is that you are at Professor Julius' office and he's late to meet you, so you start your detective work and finding out what he has been up to since he's traveled to so many places in the world. During your discovery, secrets unveil and things are just not what they seem. There may be a little bit of a language issue because the whole time we thought the game master was in character and that our game started already. We took every word that she said literally as if it were hints of some sort. So, at one point we took the key from the bathroom thinking it would open something in the apartment, but that key was actually a real bathroom key. As we started our game in the actual escape room, there were definitely a few fun puzzles that we've never seen before. I would just like to say that one of the owners is definitely an animal lover. If he could get more animals to be incorporated into the game, he would! We like how there weren't too many red herrings in the room. We were able to correlate the hints easily with the puzzles. During the game, we ran into a little hearing issue (maybe due to the language again) and was able to understand the hints. The hint system is also on an iPad and it's quite fast when you need it. As we were getting close to the end, we ran into a little language barrier again with a translation. I think we got lucky with one of the solutions, but it would be helpful if they can have the translations in English. Other than that, we really enjoyed the "surprise" elements of the room and the design. It was very on point and stuck with the storyline. Currently, Escape Room København - Down The Rabbit Hole only has one game at their location - "Korowai - A Professors Tale". We hope to see more innovative ideas from them in the future as they have a full team of creative people and you will not be disappointed if you try this game while visiting Copenhagen. *For more info, check out my Yelp profile.

We had great fun - good old-fashioned padlock puzzles, with a lot of thought and creativity. Although I really enjoyed playing as two, I can't imagine playing it with more than three people in the room, so I'd say it's a bit more suitable to the smaller groups.

We arrived bright and early, super-charged with coffee to start our 3 back-to-back games at this location. ClockedIn is located in a very historical section area of Copenhagen. Right across the street from their location is the origin of "Carlsberg" beer, so be sure to check that out If you do visit. There's also a busy shopping street full of brand name companies just a few minutes of a walk from there (you will see some of that footage in our Copenhagen travel video on our YouTube channel). The first room that we escaped was their original room - "The Murder Case at the Detective's Office". The story line is that our team must enter the scene where a private detective was murdered and find out who killed him (this is so my kind of theme since I watch CSI religiously). I put on my Sherlock Holmes "hat" and took my Watson (Brandon) with me! Since we have played a good amount of escape rooms before, I would say we have seen a few tricks here in other places but there were a few that was cleverly utilized. We even got stumped on one later and had to use a clue to find it. Since this is one of their older rooms, it might be good idea to maintain some of the props. But overall they went along with the storyline quite well. I did like how the clues were very clear and to the point and it was easy to associate and solve. "The Mystery at The Secret Warehouse" room is the second room we are attempting here. We were debriefed on the disappearance of a famous archaeologist and in this warehouse that we are entering, we needed to find five mythical runestones which will give the owner true wisdom and eternal life. We may need these stones to find the missing archaeologist. Finding things is one of Watson's (Brandon) strengths so I let him lead the way this time. The décor for this room definitely felt much more immersive than the previous. You felt that you entered a real warehouse with lots of crates in a dim light setting. The puzzles also felt more creative in here. As the story line develops, we found more and more "surprises". There's a good mixture of key locks and technology in here. We were a little stomped at the end on one of the puzzles as it did sort of needed a little outside history knowledge or some lucky guessing. Either way, we were able to figure it out and escape with two people with time to spare. For adventures out there who's looking for an Indiana Jones like experience, give this a try! I did feel a little physical agility was utilized in the room. We had to leave the party room as our final room to attempt on. We are eager to end our adventure at ClockedIn with their newest room, "The Cocktail party of Vlad D. Hanson". We heard that if you wanted to, they even allow you to bring your own beverage to enjoy a real cocktail party experience in this room! This could be a great fun to do for your bachelor/bachelorette party if you don't go overboard. Since our brains are still wired from the two previous games, we didn't want to waste any time. Our story began with the count inviting us to his famous cocktail party and when we arrived, because of the current renovation on the place, we had to enter through the butler's kitchen before we can get to the ballroom. This is when we realized that we were locked in and about the become cocktails ourselves if we don't escape in time! We had to get to work quickly. Upon entering the kitchen (this is also a clever idea by the owner as the original location had a kitchen, so he had to come up with a theme that worked with the space), we felt that this room was much more spacious than the other two. This room was definitely a lot less liner than the others as well. We were able to divide and conquer on a lot of different small puzzles. Although we did feel that this room had more puzzles to solve than the other two but because we can solve them separately, it made things easier. From a décor aspect, the room definitely had an eerie feeling although we felt that it could be a little more "haunting" for a better immersive feel, but I think the owner would like to make this more family friendly. We also played a lot of creepy themed escape rooms before (even with live actors) and I was a bit more relieved on the fact that it's just a normal room so I can concentrate on solving puzzles versus getting scared. My partner on the other hand was hoping the count will come out and drink his blood.We finished this room the quickest out of all the three rooms we tried, and the owner said we set a new record as to how fast we completed it and usually this is the hardest room by their standard. *For more info, check out my Yelp profile.
