The room was easy to book, located pretty central and it's easy to find. The game master was very passionate about the games, which is always a good sign. We had great fun - good old-fashioned padlock puzzles, with a lot of thought and creativity. Although I really enjoyed playing as two, I can't imagine playing it with more than three people in the room, so I'd say it's a bit more suitable to the smaller groups. read more

ClockedIn - Escape Games Near Me - Copenhagen, 84

ESCAPETHEROOMers are super happy that we got to spend our last day in Copenhagen, Denmark at ClockedIn. We arrived bright and early, super-charged with coffee to start our 3 back-to-back games at this location. ClockedIn is located in a very historical section area of Copenhagen. Right across the street from their location is the origin of "Carlsberg" beer, so be sure to check that out If you do visit. There's also a busy shopping street full of brand name companies just a few minutes of a walk from there (you will see some of that footage in our Copenhagen travel video on our YouTube channel). The first room that we escaped was their original room - "The Murder Case at the Detective's Office". The story line is that our team must enter the scene where a private detective was murdered and find out who killed him (this is so my kind of theme since I watch CSI religiously). I put on my Sherlock Holmes "hat" and took my Watson (Brandon) with me! Since we have played a good amount of escape rooms before, I would say we have seen a few tricks here in other places but there were a few that was cleverly utilized. We even got stumped on one later and had to use a clue to find it. Since this is one of their older rooms, it might be good idea to maintain some of the props. But overall they went along with the storyline quite well. I did like how the clues were very clear and to the point and it was easy to associate and solve. "The Mystery at The Secret Warehouse" room is the second room we are attempting here. We were debriefed on the disappearance of a famous archaeologist and in this warehouse that we are entering, we needed to find five mythical runestones which will give the owner true wisdom and eternal life. We may need these stones to find the missing archaeologist. Finding things is one of Watson's (Brandon) strengths so I let him lead the way this time. The décor for this room definitely felt much more immersive than the previous. You felt that you entered a real warehouse with lots of crates in a dim light setting. The puzzles also felt more creative in here. As the story line develops, we found more and more "surprises". There's a good mixture of key locks and technology in here. We were a little stomped at the end on one of the puzzles as it did sort of needed a little outside history knowledge or some lucky guessing. Either way, we were able to figure it out and escape with two people with time to spare. For adventures out there who's looking for an Indiana Jones like experience, give this a try! I did feel a little physical agility was utilized in the room. We had to leave the party room as our final room to attempt on. We are eager to end our adventure at ClockedIn with their newest room, "The Cocktail party of Vlad D. Hanson". We heard that if you wanted to, they even allow you to bring your own beverage to enjoy a real cocktail party experience in this room! This could be a great fun to do for your bachelor/bachelorette party if you don't go overboard. Since our brains are still wired from the two previous games, we didn't want to waste any time. Our story began with the count inviting us to his famous cocktail party and when we arrived, because of the current renovation on the place, we had to enter through the butler's kitchen before we can get to the ballroom. This is when we realized that we were locked in and about the become cocktails ourselves if we don't escape in time! We had to get to work quickly. Upon entering the kitchen (this is also a clever idea by the owner as the original location had a kitchen, so he had to come up with a theme that worked with the space), we felt that this room was much more spacious than the other two. This room was definitely a lot less liner than the others as well. We were able to divide and conquer on a lot of different small puzzles. Although we did feel that this room had more puzzles to solve than the other two but because we can solve them separately, it made things easier. From a décor aspect, the room definitely had an eerie feeling although we felt that it could be a little more "haunting" for a better immersive feel, but I think the owner would like to make this more family friendly. We also played a lot of creepy themed escape rooms before (even with live actors) and I was a bit more relieved on the fact that it's just a normal room so I can concentrate on solving puzzles versus getting scared. My partner on the other hand was hoping the count will come out and drink his blood.We finished this room the quickest out of all the three rooms we tried, and the owner said we set a new record as to how fast we completed it and usually this is the hardest room by their standard. *For more info, check out my Yelp profile. read more

Vlad D. Hanson's Cocktail Party: This was our second room here in Denmark (and at this location) and we're very glad we came back for it. The room was fun and full of great puzzles that made us think. Also, it is always fun when you set a record in a room. Theme:Nicely done - great use of the space, and great props throughout to support the story. Quality:Put together well, although we struggled with one puzzle because we weren't sure what to do with it (we thought it may not work, but turns out we didn't know how to use it). Difficulty:I loved the challenges these puzzles presented - I will just say that a couple of these really tested our skills, and that is all I feel comfortable sharing without giving away puzzles. But very well planned and a great variety. Fun:This room has such a great story and it just so freaking neat inside. Some of the props and puzzles just made me smile. ======== The Mystery at Secret Warehouse: When in Denmark - yes, will we try an escape room! And we are so glad that we did - this was really a nice time for us and a good chance to talk with the owner presented itself, too. The room itself was very well done and very fun - there was a puzzle in here that Evan had a great time with, and I agree that it is the only time I've seen that puzzle in a room and thought it was a creative use of items. We enjoyed this room so much, we returned later in the day for their harder room. Theme:I admit that before going into the room, I wasn't sure at all what to expect, but it ended up being awesome and helping tell the story. Quality:Everything worked extremely well, and you can tell they really care about the experience you have and making it the best they can. Difficulty:This was a good room, with enough to keep it interesting, but not so hard that you get frustrated. It was also nice that when we arrived, the owner talked with us and moved us from an easier room to this one. I am an escape room owner in Los Angeles and I like to play when I travel. We researched what was available in Copenhagen and ended up at Clockedin. Not all escape rooms are built the same and some are actually awful, but it can be difficult to tell that from a website alone. This room was a fantastic find. We played two of the three rooms and they contained all of my favorite elements: Good storytelling, immersive room experience, puzzles that all make logical sense, and elements of surprise and humor throughout. I highly recommend this to anyone at any level. There are enough challenges for experienced groups, but if you have kids or no experience, Allan is so helpful that he can nudge you along so you can still have a great time. Also, Allan.
