Oh how I love this store. It actually took me 6 years just to get this mermaid in the photo. Thank goodness this store was still around 6 years later & sell these mermaids year round. LOL I was eyeing the red tailed one. Finally, I have it in my home bar. And added one of my Plumaria flowers in her hair. :) Just this past summer 2018, I saw the same mermaids, but there are brand new mermen! I'm not going to wait another 6 years to buy one, but it will take me some time. LOL They now have Mr. Mojito & Mr. Pride! Mr. Pride is so tempting, especially hello, SF! LOL suits the city very well. Hehe Other than the mermaids, so much other cool sea life things in this store too. Check it out!

This store is so unique and such a delight to look around in. This place has hardly changed over the last decade. It's jam packed with seashells for kids, collectables for adults, and artsy decor for the house. If you're looking for a sea-themed souvenir or something unique you can't easily get elsewhere, then this is the place.

YELP 365 CHALLENGE 2014-(244/365) "Shell Central" Cool items to see and look at here at The Shell Cellar. Located at Pier 39, this shop has great ideas for anyone who loves seashells and are looking to put an ocean/beach vibe in their home. There are many decorative pieces and ornaments to choose from, as well as loose seashells to create your own seascape, ocean inspired terrarium for starters the workers are also helpful and also offer ideas and suggestions for the thousands of loose shells they have. I now have a few ideas on what I want to do with some of my urchin, abalone, oyster, and scallop shells that I have collected over a few visits at my favorite sushi joint. Thanks for the inspiration Shell Cellar! ALOHA!!! Shaka Meter: \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ \uuu/ 4

Loved going to this shop so much! It was like a not-tacky, souvenir shop, which is rare! From floor to ceiling, the shop is immaculately decorated with sea stars, shells of every kind imaginable and decorative pieces. It's located on Pier 39 past the Biscoff café closer to the bay. They have a wide range of items at different price points. They have cheaper grab items and more exquisite decorative shells. The COOLEST little gems they had were these little plants called bromeliads. They're a mini air plant that's related to a pineapple but they have NO visible roots and only require a weekly mist! They make the PERFECT gift for relatives and coworkers. A shell ($3) plus a plant ($2.50) makes an adorable and not typical gift that isn't a useless fridge magnet, keychain or T-shirt. And don't worry, I flew them back in my carry-on to Dallas with NO problems. They have cute little boxes to have them packed in. Loved this place so much. I'm SUPER mad at myself for not buying a little plant for my own apartment. -_-

A gorgeous selection of shells on the Fisherman's Wharf, with great service, the Shell Cellar was a real treat! We were there during the holidays and they had all kinds of fun holiday ornaments. I wanted a hot mermaid ornament dressed in a Mrs. Claus outfit but she was $55! Ouch! My BFF bought me a pair of starfish earrings. I bought myself a starfish ring. The shop is small so there was just the one clerk working. He was friendly, offered to help and was great getting jewelry out for us to look at and happy to answer questions. Things are overpriced which is why it gets 4 stars.

Beautiful shop. They have very creative crafts. I ended up buying two trivets and one small coaster, both made from small shells. Good decors and practical too.

Very cute little shop on Pier 39 with all kinds of seashells and unique items. The pricing was extremely reasonable and I was able to get some treasures for my family. The cashier and another worker were very helpful, kind and friendly. Didn't catch their names but was very appreciative of their friendliness and conversation during our visit around 6pm today. Would definitely stop in here again!

This was the lovely bracelet I bought...Shells started falling out after three days. I miss it already.

I love this store..... But Im sad the bracelet of my dreams I bought broke after 3 days! I looked down and four of the inlaid shells had fallen out. Too bad...it was beautiful :(

The shell worn by my green-eyed hermie Scuttlebutt is the one bought from this shoppe. He has worn it since March of this year. :)

Ask the Community - The Shell Cellar

Hi! We recently bought a jar (filled it ourselves, sold by the scoop) of shells, most of which were dyed. The bin included stick-like shells, that were not dyed, can only describe it as a round smooth stick but clearly shell material. What is it?

Probably spines of club or pencil sea urchins.

After stopping at many different ones they all start to look alike at what they are offering - this was our last stop before heading to our car to leave. We peeked inside not looking for anything in particular. One of the highlights of this shop is the collection of unique San Francisco- themed items. We saw these novelty shirts and saw that the pricing was very reasonable. The quality was decent too, not thin material. All the other stores sold shirts too but this was the only store that we actually noticed for the price. We grabbed 3 of our sizes and paid for them. The gal let me know of the 3% add'l fee for using a credit card. Still definitely a great deal in Chinatown! It makes it appear San Francisco is this big city when in reality there are less than 1 million people. Being born and raised in San Francisco there are a few things the city has that no other city has in the world. Only in San Francisco has Coit Tower , Golden Gate Park, Dolores Park, Mission District Burrito, and great Cioppino. There is a place to show off you arrived in the city and its Only in San Francisco at Pier 39. Inside Only in San Francisco you will see all things San Francisco. You will see hoodies and bucket hats which displays San Francisco. They also have mugs and bags along with keychains and magnets which says San Francisco.
