Absolutely horrible experience. I was so excited to continue remodeling our home by replacing the window treatments throughout. I chose The Shade Store because I thought they would provide quality products with excellent installation. Wow was I wrong. I experienced communication issues, defected shades, see through liners for what should be blackout shades in a nursery, multiple installation issues and more. 4 months later and I am still left with defective shades that honestly look terrible. They offered me less than 10% compensation for the issues I experienced. I asked to speak to a manager and no one made the effort to call me. I received an email with a meaningless sum of money and no explanation. The Shade Store products are not worth the time or the money. read more

Decision overload awaits. Dozens of styles of window blinds and curtains, powered and manual-pull. Then wade thru hundreds of swatches of fabrics, textures and colors. In store staff immensely helpful and know their merchandise. Delivery time about 3 weeks. Very high end: about $350 - $450 per window. Tip: visit the website first. read more

I'm only giving two stars as the staff in the store are so nice. The quality of the product leaves a lot to be desired. Thankfully they do guarantee satisfaction which is a good thing but it took almost 5 months from the start of the project , from beginning to end to get my refund. It took way to many phone calls to customer service to get the refund. I don't know what corporate is thinking. Inferior product and poor corporate customer service. Only thing going for them is the nice staff in the New Canaan store. read more

We couldn't be happier with the product or the service we received from The Shade Store throughout the entire process. Our sales person, Heather, was wonderful to work with, she was knowledgeable about the product and followed up after every step of the process. The team that came out to measure was professional, efficient and accurate with their measurements. Our installer, Joe, was fantastic...professional, friendly and quick. We will definitely go back to this store for any future window treatment needs! read more

Heather and the team from the Shade Store did a great job from the measuring, manufacturing and the installation. We had remodeled our kitchen and the shades were the last piece of the puzzle. We needed the shades to block the western setting sun and these 1% shades really do the trick. read more

Not cheap. Measured incorrectly. Took months to get a replacement for an item that was not as promised. Their salespeople, installers, manufacturing and shipping are uncoordinated and rely on the customer to bridge the gap. read more

We had no experience or knowledge about The Shade Store and wandered in off the street. John welcomed us, talked us through all the options and worked tirelessly to help us get exactly what we wanted in the bedrooms of our new house. We really appreciated the professionalism and communication of the team, even down to the installers. The products are high quality and they have plenty of options to set the tone of each rooms personality. Very covid friendly as well. read more

I walked in off the street with my daughter (who was looking for blinds) and I was so intrigued that I started looking for myself. Heather was extremely helpful and so pleasant to deal with. The entire process from the day I walked in to the installation of the blackout roller shades was so fast and so efficient. I absolutely love the pattern of the shades and they have transformed the room. The installer (Joe) also did an amazing job and so quickly, which he attributed to the perfect measurements! I have to say it was a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. If I ever have the need for additional shades or blinds, The Shade Store is for sure where I will go! Thank you Heather! read more

I was told about The Shade Store by my designer during the long process of a whole home remodel. She told me to work with John in the New Canaan showroom. Now that our 'phase one' of window treatments have been installed, I couldn't be happier with the selections John made and the fantastic measure team and installers. They came on time and were very professional. My neighbors and house guests comment on my window treatments often and I happily owe this to The Shade Store. Thank you John for making this project easy. We have more work to do with you! read more

Endless options, fine quality, fast delivery, experienced sales people (Cornelia!) and excellent service. Not the cheapest option for shades, but the quality and choice is outstanding. Heather at the Shade Store was wonderful to work with from the moment we went into the store in New Canaan and oversaw the installation of our living room and dining room blinds. She came at 8 am to make sure that all went well before her required time at the store. She is exceptional. She was thorough and knowledgeable about the products and her suggestions were well received. The installer Marcos, who measured the windows and who installed the blinds, was precise and determined that all was to go well. Both Heather and Marcos's professionalism and friendliness was a team that got our job done with our complete satisfaction and delight. We would recommend this team and the Shade store to anyone looking for these qualities in a company store today. We will definitely recommend and go back to this store for any future window needs.. read more

Heather made this process extremely easy. She was attentive and prompt from start to finish. We love our new shades and are very happy.

Impossible to get a hold of when they installed the wrong order. Terrible customer service.

John, Cornelia and Charlie have all been absolutely amazing to work with. Their expertise and creativity in design solutions are the best in the industry. They are also all so welcoming and patient, as I took several weeks to make some decisions. I had several window treatments, roman shades and panels, installed from The Shade Store a few months ago and returned to order more. The installers were so nice and professional, as well; they left our home spotless. The product is absolutely beautiful and the process from purchase to install was seamless. I am beyond happy with our decision to use The Shade Store in New Canaan. read more

This is a good store! I have had 14 shades put in all over my house from the Shade Store... door shades and window shades of all sizes. I have had them in place for 7 years. If there is ever a problem or minor adjustment to be made (which is rare) I call and receive a response immediately! Their service guys are prompt, courteous and capable. John Coppa, who is the Shade Store rep there, is very helpful when contacting me. I highly recommend this company. read more

Our brand new house desperately needed some window treatments. Our house was complete in March of 2021but we delayed our window treatments because we were unsure of what to buy. After a failed attempt with an interior designer we decided that we could do it on our own. I googled custom window treatments and found The Shade Store. I was drawn to this site because it allowed us to order unlimited free samples, no questions asked. This was super helpful. We proceeded to basically order every sample in every style that was offered. After making our selections we were connected with Heather Z. She made a big difference in our buying decision. She walked us through the whole process (and beyond). Her knowledge helped steer us away from selections that would not have been ideal for our busy household and pointed us towards selections that were perfect and practical. We live in upstate New York, so we had some other proximity challenges that were met head on. After our big purchase we were assigned a virtual measure. At first I was skeptical, but Jim S. (our virtual tech) was able to help us every step of the way. He was patient while I battled my tape measure, he ensured we kept our window measures organized and in order, and we always measured twice to be sure. With their assistance, any DYI novice could tackle the measuring process. Most importantly, I never felt rushed. After the measurement we were given sketches of how our window treatments would look. We snapped photos of our windows and they did the rest. We had them sketch up several different options before landing on the perfect look. Fast forward a few weeks for processing and shipping, we now have our beautiful shades hung and the days of living in a fishbowl are over. All in all, great products, great service, and amazing communication and follow up. I would highly recommend The Shade Store for any of your future window treatment needs. read more

This was our first experience with The Shade Store and it most certainly will not be our last. From our professional, knowledgeable and friendly sales person, Heather, to the measurer who came to our home, to the installer, the process of selecting and installing a roman shade for our bathroom was seamless. We went home with plenty of fabric samples to consider, and when we placed our order, the fabrication and delivery of the shade was very prompt. Heather managed the process beautifully, sending us email reminders of upcoming appointments for measuring and installation and product shipment dates. The measurer and installer who came to our home were excellent, sensitive to the challenges of Covid, and left our home spotless. In a world where nothing seems easy these days, Heather and her team at The Shade Store were a pleasure to work with and we now have a beautiful, high quality shade in our bathroom. read more
