If you're staying in Twin Bridges for more than a day, you'll probably end up eating here (there are only 3 restaurants). There's a wide variety of food, some good, some okay. I liked my green chile burrito, and really liked the pepperoni pizza. My wife said the pizza tasted "too homemade", but it was great to me. The 12" we bought was so big that I'm still not sure they didn't accidentally give us the larger one. My wife also had a philly cheese steak sandwich that she didn't care for, and we thought the ice cream was just average. So it's kind of hit or miss. I got lucky, my wife didn't. Ordered the 12" combo pizza and what I got was something similar to a digiorno pizza. All the elements were there, everything was cooked, but the crust almost seemed to be a day old. Had the texture of a croton. The waitress really didn't want to be there, seemed to not care whether we were there or not. The ice cream at the end made up for some of the issues, and I'd probably eat here again. Could've just been an off day, after all it was approaching 100°. read more

I don't like leaving a poor review but .... got here 8am. Only person here and it's 930am. Still haven't received my ticket and I've been ready to go for awhile. Maybe they aren't rushing me. Cream for tea was outdated and when I asked if they had cream that hadn't expired server looked at dates and didn't reply. So I used it. Food got to me super fast ... hot cakes are yummy ... ham steak good .... syrup is cold so that sucks for my unmelted butter. I didn't ask to heat it because nothing happened with the cream so I didn't want to be "that" customer. I've been a server ... I know some days are not the best but I was first person of the day and I was not given friendly service or a smile. I always try to stop here when Im in town. Great pizza....especially the Taco. Very friendly staff. Dont be in a hurry if you stop here though...youve been warned. We ordered a pizza from this place for lunch and it was great. We stopped for a late lunch in Twin Bridges, MT and this was the place we found. The pizza was delicious with chicken, bacon, and mushrooms with a ranch base on a whole wheat crust. It took a little while to get it, however, the waitress took $3 off the price of pizza since we had to wait. This place appears to be very involved in the local school sports teams as there were jerseys and pictures of the teams for numerous years. They also have an ice cream bar with various flavors to choose from. read more

We stopped in Twin Bridges on an extended bicycle tour and enjoyed a lunch out at the Shack on a rest day. Since we were on a tight budget during this trip, we cooked most of our own food and limited our eating out to mid-priced places like this one. The Shack was one of the few truly delicious meals we got for a low price. My husband got the Greek Pita wrap and I got a BLT. The yam fries were great, the salads crisp and fresh, and our sandwiches were tasty and filling. Being continually calorie-starved, food usually tasted great to us on this trip, but this place really hit the spot. It was homey and felt like a place where locals go because the food is consistently good! Also, Twin Bridges is an awesome town - they have a free cabin for touring cyclists! read more

We were heading to Yellowstone and stopped in Twin Bridges for a late breakfast and ended up here. The place is obviously a hit with the locals and the staff knew many people by name. It's smallish but bright and the staff was super friendly! On weekends they do a set of brunch specials and a breakfast buffet. The buffet had specialty pastries in "sample sizes", 4 varieties of fresh and canned fruits, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, hash browns, biscuits & gravy, pancakes and french toast. For $9.99, this was great deal! Our kids had made three trips before my husband and I even ordered our Raspberry French Toast and Eggs Benedict! Coffee was fresh and delicious, kids got 12 oz cups of apple juice. Our waitress was tripling as busser, cashier and waitress and the owner was also running front of house. The cooks looked like someone you'd want to have invite you over for dinner that would become a lifelong friend and mentor. The Raspberry French Toast was 2 full slices drowning in a homemade warm raspberry sauce and heaped with whipped cream. The Eggs Benedict were perfection! The Hollandaise sauce was light, smooth and perfectly flavored...made from scratch! This place is TOTALLY on our list of places to visit every time we're in the area! Well done!!!! read more

i have eaten at the shack maybe four times now three out of the four times i have gone home sick as a dog. the only thing i would order there is the pizza. their burgers terrible, the fries are soggy, the wings what the hell kind of flavors are those, maybe try real buffalo sauce intead of dippin them into what i think tastes like a giant pot of black pepper. so if you want a good pizza and an even better case of the runs and severe cramping in your g.i. tract eat at the shack. i will say their support of the local highschool is awesom read more
