No more. Not here. I have always paid 1/2 up front and 1/2 upon pick up. Yet, when I returned to claim my framing this time, I was informed that the store had made an error and the total bill had increased by 35% from roughly $1,000 to nearly $1,500. I had been telephoned 3x in 24 hours by the owner, reminding me that my framing was ready to be picked up. Not once, in any of those telephone conversations, did he raise the change in price. He left that to the employee behind the counter. I was given no choice. I also run a small business and do understand that employees make errors. When they do, our firm owns up to it immediately and the customer NEVER pays for our errors. Our average price point dwarfs that of Creative Framing, so mistakes are quite costly. As for the "honesty, integrity and loads of creativity" that Creative Framing advertises on their web site, I guess one out of of three is about par for the course!

I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant at first, as I was accustomed to taking my art to my picture framer in Manhattan who always did incredible work. Upon entering I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted warmly by the young man behind the counter. It turned out he was the manager of the store and had over 25 years of experience working as a professional picture framer in New York City. The manager had excellent design and color sense, was very patient and made sure I was aware of every detail of the custom framing process. My custom framing job turned out great and I'm very confident that my valuable artwork has been properly preserved with acid-free materials and museum glass. I found my new framer!

The main path through the sculpture gardens has gravel. We had no issues pushing a stroller. The grass is lush and immaculately mowed. It's perfect for laying out a blanket. The sculptures are unique and eye catching. The printed map doesn't have much detail about the art beyond the name of each piece and the sculptor. There are no placards with information either, so it's not very educational. Some of the trees and plants are labeled, so you get a bit of a botanical gardens experience as well. There were a few benches along the path, but most were not shaded. Great place for a stroll. You can easily get through it in an hour.

If you like dogs, this is the shop for you because they seem to specialize in dog-themed items. But it is a great shop to get that special person any unique item. Some of the items may be a little expensive, but these are hand-made items mostly made by local artisans. The prices are comparable to other similar shops and if we don't support local businesses like this, they won't be there to serve us.
